My daughter was attacked on October 6th around 9:50am. My family and I got to view the video on what happened to my daughter. It is clear in the video that one boy blocked her in while the other placed my daughter in a headlock lock. He slammed her on the ground and punched her many times in the face. Not only did he punch her in the face but he tried to knee her in the face as well. The school is refusing to hold the other boy accountable. They tried to say that someone stated my daughter said a racial remark to the boy which was false. The principal is hiding the fact that this was racially motivated. The other boy involved is still attending the school with no punishment. They turned off their Google reviews so you can't post there. The principal spoke highly of my daughter and said she is always respectful and yet you allowed someone to lie on her. The boy clearly told her to watch out n word and that's not being addressed. This was a hate crime nothing less. We will fight to get the video released so you can see what we can see. The principal failed to show us the video on a proper screen like he showed the first clip before the attack. We had to take turns watching it on his dark laptop screen. They simply do not want this to come out as a hate crime. My daughter has never had a bad remark about her since kindergarten. This school has failed my child but chose to target her brother who attends the same school after he threatened to protect his sister.
What's to stop this from happening to your child of color? Justice for my daughter will be served with or without the schools help. Not one adult was seen in the video not one!

My experience was okay. But some of the teachers are very mean and I'm talking about a point where they are rude. Not saying any names but the subject is teaching and training. Next the busses what really drove me to write this review was how late the busses come. Last year it had came late once but now it just comes late almost everyday and it is very frustrating since I as a student who wants to learn and get to school on time! Please hire a sub driver that can come on time and not past the timing of the bell.

Staff is very unnecessarily rude. Yes, I understand they have regulations but there is no need for a staff to be automatically rude and physical with students and parents

The bus the bullies in at cost of kids zoned here
Posted: February 21, 2019
This school buses kids in from Mojave. Its a very hushed situation. They dont have enough buses for zoned kids because of it. They need more police presence as well and have gangs targeting white kids. The school is over capacity as well. Classes have too many kids and then unruly kids so education is affected. All so the school can bring down average income and get more money per pupil. The teachers dont get paid enough to care. Had I have known all of this, my kids would have never attended this school. Everyday I hear about the fights. My kid eats lunch with her back pack on near the door so she can leave when the fights break out. Its an inner city school located in the suburbs.

You can tell most dislike the job and have too many discipline problems. They end up taking it out on the good kids too.

Kids are fearful of bullying at this school.

Character? Everyone seems totally apathetic. We went to the counselor and she stood us up for appointments.
Posted: September 27, 2017
The principal just refers you to some other employee. He passes the buck and shows no interest in your child.

Absolutely not! My son as ADHD and he received no special treatment of any kind.

My son was afraid to go to school.

We gave up on this school. The counselor stood us up for appointments and the principal was totally disinterested in my child. My son received no attention and no assistance.

Centennial isn't perfect, but it does have its perks. I attended this school for my freshman year and it was pretty great. There are plenty after school activities sports and clubs, and most are skilled in what they do. Especially the JROTC program. And the teachers try hard. I do think that some teachers should have different ways of running there classrooms. They're a bit over-disciplined. As for dress code, it was back and forth. It was enforced early in the year but later on some guys would wear tank tops and nothing would happen. But on the very last week of school they're making referrals left and right for dress code. I also do think the teachers could teach a bit better, but some of these students expect the teacher to teach them everything with one sitting, but they're not going home and doing the homework or looking it over. There was also a few fights, probably 1 or 2 of them each month, and a bit more if you count the kids that didn't get caught. I didnt get into much trouble myself because, like I said, I had a great time. So if you're a student that does your work and goes to school for school and not because your parents told you it's a pretty decent school.

I am now graduating Centennial high school. ive gone there all 4 years and have had a great experience awesome teachers and the staff are great. Administration is alright but still friendly. the people that are leaving NEGATIVE COMMENTS are students or parents of students that arent involved in school. if you are involved in activities and enjoy going to school then you will have a great time. but if you are a student that will only come to school, do work and go home and not get involved then of course you will complain. Centennial is a great school CLASS OF 2K14

This school is horrible! Not only the students, the teachers are very rude and don't have any idea on how to teach. I would not recommend sending any student here, at all. I was sitting in the office the first day there and a teacher says, "I'm sure they would fix the water fountain if they would give us a star." That is sad they cant even make it a somewhat enjoyable place. Just make them look bad.

I am a parent of an 11th grader who is an african american boy. My oldest son graduated from Centennial and had alot of racial problems from not only other students but, also teachers. My son that attends there now is having a very hard time also, more with teachers who don't seem to want to teach. I'm told that when students in the class ask for help there told "what don't you get , it's all pretty simple" I know we don't have enough teachers here in Nevada to teach but, I see why; alot of them are not qualfified and the ones that were are either retired or left Nevada. Which I am considering doing leaving Nevada, because I feel that so many white americans are living in the past and think that all black people are looking for hand outs which is not true. I pay taxes to
