My son is on his second year at Staton and we have had nothing but a wonderful experience there! The principal, the ladies in the office and the teachers are all so kind and ready to help! My son has been thriving there and I am looking forward to his younger siblings starting there. Highly recommend this school!

A+ Great school! My son has attended two years and he loves it. He continues to learn and is doing great academically. The teachers my son has had so far have been a pleasure to work with. One of the best in Las Vegas. One plus, at drop off this school does better than most helping control traffic flow. On the other hand, Rogich middle school around the corner does a horrible job dropping off/pick up is a nightmare. CCSD needs to learn from other districts on how to set set a process and flow for the safety of everyone, so parents dont go crazy dropping off and picking up their kids.

Education was our biggest concern when moving to Las Vegas from California. We researched all of the options and ended up moving to Summerlin because of everything we learned about Staton. I can happily say we have no regrets about that decision! Our daughter attended 1st grade all the way through 5th grade and it was a wonderful experience all along the way. The school is very academically focused but also stresses the importance of being a good person and teaches those attributes. I can't say enough good things about this school. We're so excited to enroll our son next year and do it all over again!

No help at all. Even the PTA seems disorganized as I continue to receive emails from them 2 years after I pulled my child out of their school. I've even sent emails to stop contacting me and placed their emails in my junk mail.

Refer above to all my comments about not only not helping my gifted child, but labeling her the bad kid instead, despite two psychologists advocating for her.

My daughter tested gifted so they just gave her more homework at the same level, not more challenging work. I met with the teacher and principle several times and never got anywhere with this. She was supposedly too young for the gifted program so there was nothing they would do for her.

We had one of the supposedly preferred teachers but the teacher insisted my daughter had ADHD even after we had her evaluated twice and the psychologists said she's not ADHD at all, she's gifted. The teacher had it set in her mind though and my daughter's desk was set aside alone from all the group work most of the year.

My daughter was starting to take on the attitude that she must be the bad kid since she was always in trouble with her teacher. The psychologists that evaluated her said she was getting into trouble because she was bored. She stopped finishing her homework because it was just the same stuff again and again and she was bored and in trouble anyways so she was losing motivation.

If you're outside of the bell curve, you're not going to be supported. My daughter was gifted and not helped and there was a non-verbal autistic child in her class that only had a teacher's aide to help him a couple afternoons a week.

My daughter attended Kindergarten here, and is now in First Grade. Both of her teachers have been tremendous. She has excelled beyond my expectations and we couldnt be more pleased with the school. The PTA, the Specials teachers, and all the Aides and staff have all contributed to make this school exceptional.

Absolutely horrible. My daughter is in fourth grade and there are 36 students in her class. How can one teacher manage to help so many students?

I feel like every child is reached out to. They have monthly tasks that they work on including responsibility, courage, friendship, etc.

Staton Elementary has heavy parent involvement. Their PTO raises funds to cover teachers and items that are not provided by CCSD. This is necessary to help a school succeed.

My son attended full time kindergarten and is now in 1st grade here. I've been so impressed with the teachers, curriculum, and how much my son has learned and thrived. I believe this school is up to par with any private or charter school here. In fact, he was just accepted into a charter school, but I thought, why ruin such a good thing, everything has been fantastic here, so we stayed and I'm so happy with my decision. I feel so blessed to live in a short walking distance from this school.

I would give this school 10 stars if I could. Dr. Lombard and Mr. Layton are wonderful, caring, and know each child by name. We have not had a bad teacher yet, and this is our third year at Staton. The teachers really care about the kids. My kids have thrived here. Staton is, without any doubt, the best elementary school in Las Vegas. It is a credit to CCSD.

My son is a third grader at Staton Elementry. We moved here from Houston Texas last year and was afraid that the Staton would be behind in curriculum. To our surprise our son had a challenge to catch up with the rest of the class. We are thrilled with the school and the teachers!!!

The teachers and parents are fantastic. My daughters have learned more than I expected and they have had fun doing it. The PTO does a great job of raising money so that students are given every opportunity despite the cut backs the district is facing.

I happen to have a friend who enrolled her son in Staton this year. The interesting thing is that she was a teacher in a well known expensive private school, and her son attended K-3. Her son found himself trying to catch up in MATH, and READING. She told me she assumed that her school was superior to all public schools and that she was amazed. She often refers to never drink the kool-aid again and to keep an open mind. And yes her family is planning a trip to Europe this summer with the money she saved. Staton is truly one of the best public school in Las Vegas if not the best.

We have 2 children that have been attending Staton for the last 2 years. All of the teachers that they've had so far have been truly wonderful. I also volunteer on my spare time and the faculty always makes me feel so welcome. The principal and vice principal are always present and know all the children by first names. We are blessed to have this school available for our kids.

This is a great school! The teachers, administration and parents all work together to create a safe and learning environment. I never worry about what teacher I get because they are all exceptional.

Staton Elementary is the best school in Las Vegas. My daughter has learned so much and benefits everyday from the guidance and leadership of this school. The teachers are fantastic. The PTO is awesome. The principal and vice principal are the best.

My daughter is in the all day kindergarten program. I'm very impressed with how much she's learned and how much she loves school. I'm extremely happy with this school, and the staff shows a great deal of love and respect towards my daughter.

I am so grateful to have Mr. Herz as my son's 4rth grade teacher last year. He is one great teacher who built up my son's self esteem to where he left off in the 2nd grade. Out of his whole experience at Staton, he rants and raves over Mr. Herz. School should be a place for learning, but more importantly FUN and comforting! The Riley's will be forever grateful to him!
