Some teachers are incredibly supportive, encouraging, and genuinely motivate their students. Unfortunately, others seem to treat teaching more like a chore than an opportunity to support and connect with students.
There is a noticeable lack of mental health support for students.
Students who are struggling emotionally or academically dont always seem to receive the support or understanding they need.
Counselors can be difficult to reach when students need help, which can leave families feeling frustrated and unsupported.
Overall, the school has some wonderful teachers and staff, but there is a clear need for stronger mental health resources, better communication, and more consistent support for students who are struggling.

I had detention and I went to get my razor scooter from the main office but the lady there said that she can't let me get it but I told her what it looks like and she told that just because you watched some one bring their scooter in does not make you the new owner and she made me walk 3 miles home. I HATE THIS SCHOOL!!

The safety of this school since I started to attend it has been an overall improvement the teachers can teach but the problems when you don't yell in your classroom one teacher is amazing Mr. Dixon who joined the 23-24 school year really helped me and everything, he taught was drilled into my mind Mr. Mertens is great too am really starting to understand Algebra. When I first saw these Algebra problems, I thought am failing math this year, but Mr. Mertens really made me understand the subject.

For a public school, I do have to say that this one is pretty good. The teachers actually care about issues going on in the school and the environment overall. At Escobedo which I went to two years ago, the school was run really lazily and the teachers just didn't care. At this school, it's pretty much the opposite of that.

The homework assignments my daughter has come home with has been pertinent to what they are learning. It supports the reinforcing of what they are learning in class, which I believe is the only reason homework should be given. It is not overwhelming but appropriate.

I have been thoroughly impressed with Leavitt's teachers, administration and staff. I feel they all are pationate about educating the students and the betterment of the school.

I am a parent who wrote the review posted on March 8th, 2013. After I discussed the situation with administration, I believe they worked very hard to resolve the issues I had presented. I am very satisfied with Mr. Whipperman's response to my concerns and I am updating my rating based on the way these issues were handled.

Leavitt is a great place to send your students. The students are nice - is there some stuff with kids not treating each other great yes but overall, I love this place. The principal is a great guy and cares about all kids.
