This state has a MAGNET program that is very unnecessary if the state has Public school funding (when your child is present, the school/district receives money) to cover simple education with a curriculum that suits each grade level. Lazy teachers, Districts Neglect of Knowledge, Not paying teachers to provide a better education for these undereducated (not by choice) children and just Simply Not caring for Children's education are All Unexcusable for not providing the Amount of education these kids deserve. This is very frustrating because the school District does not take Blame. They put it back on these kids saying they are "Falling Behind", "need special education" "To catch up", or "Having trouble" This ALL should Fall Back on the District whom is receiving the funds and not providing services that are Justified as Education for the proper grade level.
Make it Harder!!! Education is not suppose to be easy nor should it be a choice but should be encouraged and children should be pushed to learn more with no limits!
This needs to change or this state will be filled with so many idiots. All to fall right back on the State of Nevada.

my experience at this school is kinda bad because the teachers and staff have no respect for you they take your things for no reason. they also give you inhouse/star on for no reason

Originally, we were of course concerened with Swainston's reputation and school history. History, is the key word here as I believe that there is a transformation in the focus and dedication to student success here. This campus recognizes students that want to learn and fosters an environment that offers those that didn't to join in. I can tell you that these teachers care, and if a student cares as well - there are no boundries on success. Challenge yourself, and more importantly challenge your student to succeed. They have it in themselves to believe in you, tell them to belive in learning. There is no greater gift than to see your child succeed.

I feel that the learning, and social-emotional aspect of this school could improve if parents became more involved. So many parents complain, and then are not present with the progress of their student.

This is by far the worst school that my child has attended. I am withdrawing him and he will do online learning. My son has been subjected to bullying and fights. Fights at lunch, fights in the bathrooms, fights on the bus. Teachers and staff are unprofessional, incompetant, and frankly quite rude. After my son got attacked on the bus they called my ex husband who should have been removed from the calling list when I brought in a protection order, protecting my son. They still called him! And gave him information about my son. He could have come and pick up my son and they would have let him walk out the door. Terrible terrible place.

I am a student that has to go to this terrible school and if you are a parent looking for a good school for your kid u came to the wrong place this school is horrible the teachers treat the students with no respect you get suspended and RPceed for the littlest reasons theirs always fights and the principle oh my lord shes horrible i mean actually shes the worst i hate this school so much and many others can agree out of the hundreds of teachers i like 5 and thats very sad oh and the learning part no i have learned nothing from this school if the teacher dosnt like u adimatic f the teaching is bad u dont learn anything just a stress house so ya no find a different school if you care about your kids mental health.

Ok hear me out, I haven't even been to this school before but listen I heard some bad stuff about it and I recommend you NOT to go there. People get into fights almost everyday according to most reviews and the teachers do not even care AT ALL. I heard the teachers were really disrespectful to the students and spend more time trying to manage them then teaching the actual material. PLEASE DO NOT SEND YOUR CHILD TOO THIS SCHOOL.

Teachers are effective, but they spend more time being angry with the students because some of these kids are very defiant when they were told to pay attention.

Students at this school are rowdy. The teacher spends more time trying to control the kid's behavior than teaching the material.

The principal tries her best but her assistant principals don't support most of their teachers. If you want to teach, this is not the school you want to be because you'll wind up babysitting students and keeping them busy by giving them more work.

I would send my kid to a private school or a school at henderson or boulder city because most of the kids at a public school take education for granted because it's paid for by the taxpayers.

The teachers and staff are very petty they are not capable of dealing with kids and their different personalities their solution to everything is to RPC the kids for every little thing instead of dealing with the issue. The Dean Mr.Davis doesn't have a clue on how to counsel or guide kids. I strongly dislike the staff at this school and I regret enrolling my child here....

My son has been attending this school for the last 2yrs. Some of his teachers are great others in the pass not so great. Ms. Brown and Ms Westfall has been the most helpful with my child needs in education i appreciate all their help! The kids at the school are not so great. I'm a parent that believes in it starts at home first! Lots of fighting at this school. Needs more supervision!

I am a student that attends this school, Swainston Ms is the worst school I have ever attended. I came from a charter school in Colorado, and it was extremely high class. The principal has shown a lack of interests when it comes to here school, my advice to parents and students, do not attend this school if your looking for the top education and stff, I shall be posting more reviews

This school is so Ridiculous. I am a current student at Swainston. And I so upset. Te dean at this school RPCed my friend for something she didn't do, she wasn't even involved. This is so unbelievable. The dean is very picky when it comes to RPC and Suspension. I'm just DONE with this school.

If you are in good classes, you will most likely have a better experience at Swainston. The teachers I have gotten through out all my three years there were mostly pretty good. They mostly attempted to teach me what I needed to know, while still cracking in a joke here and there. I used to think I was bad at math, until I got a teacher in which taught me in a simplistic way I could actually comprehend. Although there are some cons, I mainly enjoyed my experience there.

This school has some good teachers like Mrs.Tetlow and Mr Bradley but the school is not a good place to send your kids to. Everyday I take my kid to school and what do I see a ambulance just because a kid is injured in a fight.There is no presence of school staff around to keep the kids safe at all.My kid has been bullied now twice this year and there is a report done but the dean has done nothing to resolve it at all.The kids that go to this school do not behave and the teachers could care less about the kids.

I feel this school lacks teacher conduct. Rarely does the principle intervene when the teachers are having issues with students. I feel they are overloaded and under staffed. The after school tutoring is overloaded. Not really a good school overall.

Alright for those of you looking to put your kids in a "good" school it should not be this one. I'm a student at this school school and recently moved here from another.Some things like dress code arent so bad and I understand why they would apply it but other things like teachers and their "ways of teaching" are in my opinion a lot worse than the school i used to go to.Not only were most of my teachers ahem...... douche bags but they would spend more time finding exuses to get that one kid to admit hes doing something wrong then the actual lecture.For the parents who came in here thinking it looks nice and cheery i can tell you otherwise-thats why im writing this.Why would a student write this is a question people reaading this might ask; because its summer and right now I'm trying to find a decent school fr myself right now to prevent from going to swainston this next year again (going to 8th grade).You might be thinking who cares what this kid thinks because its probably because he just doesnt like school. Well yes some things we learn in school i see completly uselles but its not because of that (a litte shallow).

I am the parent of a sixth and an eithth grade student. Their teachers are all wonderful. When I walked in the school i immediately felt welcome by the officer manager, the principal and the student aid sitting at the desk who all greeted me with a hello and a smile. I would recommend this school to anyone who asks, regardless of what others say

Swainston is one of the worst schools I have ever sent any of my children to. Mr. Bickmore is probably the only person there that really cares about the students and the parents. All the others simply don't have the students best interest in mind. I have 3 middle school aged children and and they are zoned for this school but I enrolled 2 of them at a different school because I feel they deserve a better environment than Swainston can provide. The 1 child of mine goes there because he a special needs child and the special ed program seems to be good for him.
