As a parent of a child with an IEP in special education, I am extremely disappointed with my experience in CCSD. My daughter spent more time dealing with bullying than actually learning, and it often felt like the school failed to protect or support her. Unfortunately, I also felt dismissed and unheard by staff throughout the school year.
Communication has been very poor. Many times, I would only hear about incidents after a suspension had already been decided, without being fully informed about what actually happened beforehand. Instead of addressing concerns proactively, the schools seem to wait until situations escalate before involving parents.
The bullying issues are out of control, and it feels like little to nothing is being done to truly address them. Meetings that should have been happening consistently throughout the year were suddenly pushed at the end, which made them feel more reactive than supportive.
I know teachers and staff have difficult jobs, but from my experience, there has been a serious lack of accountability, communication, and support within multiple schools in this district. I am frustrated, disappointed, and deeply concerned for students who deserve a safe environment where they can actually learn and succeed.

My kids have been going to a neighboring school for the entire time they have been in school, and not once ever got in trouble or written up before. This is our first year at this school and my youngest kid has 9 things on his record and the school year isn't even over yet.. I didn't know about over half of these, they only contacted me for a few of them, I had to ask for his record to see how bad it actually was myself. And most of these are about kids being mean to him and fighting with him. Don't bring your kids here unless you want them to get bullied.
He is also autistic ADHD and has an IEP so I don't understand why they are letting him get hurt. I was really excited to bring my kids here when we first moved, as this was my own personal elementary school I went too when I was a kid. I moved here cause I thought it would be better for them but I'm so disappointed at how this year turned out. Kids are very unwelcoming. They used to love going to school every day and now they don't.

I hated this school. The teachers were horrible at teaching, I barley learned anything besides to speak when spoken to, and the staff is unhelpful.

Both my children came here and from there previous school my kids where receiving only A's and B's every couple of months the rescuers would update is with how they are doing and Ms.Roach would day every thing is great, but when I would get the report card he was doing not great. So I have made several attempts and no progress was ever done. Teachers don't care here. Principal is no where as well
