Having worked as an educator in different schools, I can say that WBCS is a hidden gem on the West Side of Buffalo. It is a school that houses kindergarten through eighth grade students who come from diverse backgrounds. I feel that diversity is celebrated, and individual differences are valued. WBCS creates a welcoming environment where every student feels seen, supported, and empowered to succeed. Students in grades K8 benefit from a rigorous curriculum aligned to NYS Next Generation Learning Standards, with a major emphasis on language development, literacy, and reading proficiencyskills that set the stage for lifelong success. West Buffalo Charter has small class sizes and a high teacher-to-student ratio.

I have had the pleasure of working at WBCS for 3 years now and would recommend this school to anyone. This school prioritizes the overall well-being of students AND staff, and is also an excellent option for students with special needs who need extra support. The administration team goes above and beyond to create a supportive, fair, and kind environment for all, and if I had children I would absolutely send them here.

I worked at WBCS for many years and have truly enjoyed my experience here. The leadership works very hard to ensure staff and students are successful. I would 100% send my kids to this school.

This school is nothing short of amazing. I have been here for 8 years and from admin, to teachers, to behavior support staff, everyone is amazing and kind. I have stayed this long because of the support I have gotten from my admin and co-workers. The students here are well cared for and loved. Highly recommend to anyone who is look for a safe, loving, and inclusive environment to send their child.

Teaching at WBCS has been an incredibly rewarding experience! I have worked at this school for over 10 years and what stands out most to me about WBCS is that staff and students feel seen and valued. The school celebrates the unique backgrounds and perspectives that make its community so special. There is a strong collaborative culture amongst the teachers and everyone is committed to helping students be successful academically, socially, and emotionally. I feel supported by the administration at the school, and I know their door is always open in case I need them for anything. WBCS is really the best school around :) I highly recommend this school to anyone seeking a new job to thrive in, or a family looking for a school where their child can reach their full potential!

Ive worked at this school for about 5 years and I 100% do not recommend ! This school knows how to preform well for guest, whether that be parents or higher ups. They are not inclusive or supportive to their staff or students. This is a school that I would say looks good on paper but if you look deeper its absolutely trash. They target minority children and stereotype them. They exclude special needs children from everyday school activities and treat them less than human. They have unqualified behavioral support staff that does not prioritize child safety. They will hire anyone to look after your children regardless if they are qualified or not. They use and abuse staff and the admin team is not only prejudice but they are a group of grown women who move like they are a high school girl group. Do not work here or send your children here if you actually care about them.

Best staff ever!! The director is hands on not sitting behind a desk. Wbcs is very diverse students and staff and students come from different ethnic backgrounds. Making learning fun. Students success is the goal if all the staff at WBCS. Best school EVER!!!

In my opinion West Buffalo charter School is one of the best in Western New York and this is why, when it comes to ensuring the success, safety, and well-being of our children the role of teachers, principles, and guidance counselors cannot be overstated. These dedicated education professionals play a vital part in shaping the minds and future of our youth. As a parent, I can personally attest to the importance of having a supportive and involved educational team, and I have been fortunate to have had my children attend WBC where the staff is committed to their growth and development.
I have two children whom have been attending wbcs for the past 4 years. They have spent time in both the Alden and Clarence school districts, which are considered among the best in Western New york. Well I believe these are all excellent schools, my personal experience has shown that my children have thrived and received a much more individualized education at WBCS.
The teachers, principal and guidance counselors at WBCS are truly fabulous going above and beyond to ensure that each student receives the attention and support that they need to succeed. The smaller class sizes at the charter School allow for more one-on-one interaction between students and teachers, providing students with a more personalized experience. The staff at WBC truly care about their students, taking the time to get to know them as individuals, and working closely with families to ensure their success. The guidance counselor is equally committed to the well-being of the students, providing support and resources to help them navigate there academic, social, and emotional challenges.
In addition to the persona attention andl support my children have received, I have also been impressed by the curriculum and extracurricular activities available at WBCS. The school offers a wide range of enriching experiences, including music and arts programs, sports teams, and clubs. The school is commitment to providing a well-rounded education is evident in the diverse range of opportunities available to students. The individualized attention, In conclusion, I cannot say enough fabulous things about the staff at WBCS. The individualized attention, personal learning experiences, and supportive environment have contributed significantly to my children's growth and development. I have 6 girls that attend this school, I enjoy the communication with the teachers and staff. This school is most organized school my kids have ever attended. I really love how they make time for the families and letting us know the progress every report card. Every Friday is dress down day that makes my kids so happy. My kids really enjoy waking up and going to school and it makes the day better!

I love this place and it is such a a joy to send my children there every day! I had the opportunity to work there for a while too and got to see so much more of the inner workings and all that did was increase my faith and confidence about my kids being there. As a parent it is such a gift to send your kids somewhere you know they will be valued and cared for by all of the staff they interact with each day. I also love the diversity and welcoming atmosphere and the way the staff goes out of their way to value all of the kids unique cultural backgrounds through having kids give presentations on their cultures and religions, elevating diversity in a way that adds to the learning environment.

WBCS has played such an integral role in the lives of my children in such a short time. They're in kindergarten and first grade, and I couldn't imagine a better environment for them to learn and grow. Be it the smiles at arrival and wishing them a great day, to being caring and understanding on the tough days, to making me feel like such a proud mama with the projects that come home in their backpacks... It's just all truly special. The teachers, support staff, administration... All band together to make it truly a one of a kind school experience. The Social Emotional Learning, the small group studying, the reading buddies... I just can't say enough positive things.

WBCS is the best Charter School in the area! Teachers and administration truly care for their students and learning goes beyond just the textbook but they educate the whole child. Kids feel safe, loved, and challenged instructionally every day they walk through those doors. Overall, WBCS is a great school for students and I highly recommend it to anyone looking for another option to Public schools.

As a mom of 3 teenagers about to be done we school and having a kindergartner I was really picky at the time of choosing school. So far I love WBCS the communication is amazing that was one of my priorities, my daughter love the school, the teachers .The staff are always super friendly and welcomes their kids in the morning with a smile in their face and a Good morning.

As a parents of West Buffalo Charter School students, past and present, we have found the quality of curriculum and the teacher's commitment to excellence to be the driving forces behind our children's academic success. The school has an excellent student to teacher ratio, wonderful facilities and many and varied extracurricular activities. West Buffalo Charter School supports a robust Special Needs program that allows our son to thrive educationally and socially. My kids and I love WBCS we been with them since 2015. One Graduated and two still go. Great communication from staff and teachers. Amazing memories. Also Mrs. Carlton the nurse does an amazing job with the kids and also great communication. Everyone is caring and understanding regardless of the situation. Each year my children feel confident and all the staff help the success. I am proud of being a WBCS parent!

this school is terrible my son had to had to be escorted to places because the students who don't listen? What?? does not make any sense at all and the students are racist what that is not a school my son will go to again never.
