Read the negative comments closely. The negative reviews are truthful. Your child will do better staying in public school. Do not put your child in this school if he has a learning disability. They do not have the appropriate services. Many of the teachers are inadequately prepared to teach. You will want to ask for each teachers credentials to make sure they are certified teachers. You will want to read carefully through IEPs that are developed for your child. Make sure they are receiving all the appropriate services (eg: speech therapy, occupational therapy, assistive technology that will support reading and writing,etc.). Read and research special education and what you do not understand, ask questions. Make sure you are well versed when it comes to special education and learning disabilities. Make sure you inspect what you expect and document in writing. For many of our black and brown boys, they are not receiving the education they are entitled to. To be honest, I would suggest you not put your child in this school. (Boys Prep - Bronx) Unfortunately there is a lack of professionalism, integrity, honesty, ethics, etc. BEWARE!!!

This school is worse than a public school. They have 0 control over their students. There are fights everyday in the lunch room. The lunch room is literally as big as 2 classrooms combined. Students that bully students get sit downs like if they are babies. Students that don't follow the schools policies receive no punishment. This school is a joke! Don't be fooled by the nice exterior the inside is a hot mess!

Love love love Boys Prep and Principal K! The staff are attentive and involved. I have 2 sons attending this school. Best decision for them. They are learning all about Brotherhood and Responsibility.

Very negative. I withdrew my son from this school due to a teacher pushing him and the principal taking up for the teacher. Didn't feel my sin was safe at this school. This school favors the littler children but the older one are left behind

Omg, not only leadership but brotherhood is the schools mantra. They want them to look out for one another and help eachother where ever they need support. They teach them consciousness and awareness of both strength and weakness.

Not too sure about this but I would expect all schools to have this manner of support for those children who need it. It should not be only an outside sources accomplishment while in a school setting. Its hard enough for parents to have to learn the direction of how to get the help but more so where to go to get it. It shouldnt not be a dispute as to not having these services available for children who need it during school hours. All teachers should have some form of discretion as to how to put more effort into making sure these children win too.

I would hope that the school staff would intervene when bullying occurs. Bullying is not acceptable and parents should talk to their children about it. Its note morally correct to bully or harm another human being period. Spread love.

Im a parent who has seen growth in my youngest child. He likes the school and actually wants to go everyday which is a good sign. It start with the principles leadership for the staff to follow. I get a good feel from the staff starting from the front door. It sets the tone for the school. Boys these days need more encouragement now then ever. They are super cool in the morning. They shake hands like mature young men should. They make them tuck their shorts in like business men. They test their mentality like the real world.

My son is only in the 1st grade. The teachers last year were so wonderful and so dedicated to all the children in the class. They acknowledge all their personalities and understand the way male children think.

I get resources for extra work needed when ask within a good time frame. I see the teachers everyday, especially at dismissals and they always have a few minutes to talk to you and answer any quick concerns.

As a new parent with 3 daughters enroll, I am amazed on their academic turn around. The principal knew my name within the 2nd week of school. I was amazed at the one on one personal relationship to know who I am. And not just another parent dropping her child off to school. I love how parents can volunteer too.

There have been quite a few leadership changes which has been a concern. I will say that since Mrs. Bradshaw stepped in things have improved significantly. Mr. Turners support and involvement with the boys is also remarkable. My only critique is that the main office staff could be a little more welcoming. Smile and greet parents as theyre walking in. It goes a long way and helps to ease the concern that are boys are in a nurturing environment. I chose boys prep because unlike other charter schools, it didnt feel like a boarding school.

Boys Prep was very proactive in addressing parents concerns with bullying on the school buses. Other than that, my son has never experienced bullying or any of those concerns with his peers.

I think the homework was appropriate towards the beginning of the academic year. It was helpful to gauge each students ability; however , as the school year progresses, I think the homework could be a little more challenging. I sometimes find myself frustrated with the color the picture that matches the story worksheets.

Boys prep is great start for a young boy coming into the world. Teachers and administrators help equip students with problem solving skills. The academics is regerous and very in depth. The teachers and sminustrators at Boys Prep are kind and immersed into the overall well-being of the boys. If or rather when you choose boys Prep as the next step in your childs academic journey you can be assured they will be taught principles such as brotherhood, merit and scholarship not only in theory but in practice.

I have had a great experience with boys prep all of mine and my son needs have been met. The commutation between teacher and parent is great. Also reading is most important. I love the school.

What I love most about Boys Prep Bronx is that the teachers make a commitment to provide every boy with the support that they need to be successful on the road to college. As a parent, I can confidently say that the relationship between our boys, families and staff is nothing less than phenomenal. They continually show me that our boys are extremely important to them & the commitment to the scholars is extraordinary

They helped my son too read more than what he had already learned from home but mainly home was how he learned. There was no real structure on how teaching was being done and it was way too much favoritism toward other boys than some boys. I went as far that my son was left out on a few occasions and he was present in school on those days so totally don't understand how they could do that too a 5 year old

The principal came from Girls Prep so she knows the system. She is young so she has the energy. She's kind and she work hard. Tehre is only one leader at Boys Prep that is not good. The rest are good leaders.

My son has been at Boys Prep since day one. I was going to pull him after the first year but kept him at the school and I'm so glad I did. a new principal came from Girls Prep so its better now. My son's teachers are great and they have helped him become a stronger reader. He loves the PE teachers Mr. Palmer and Mr Sparkman. They also have fun events like Lego night where they do reading and then the build Legos so the boys have fun and learn. Love the school!

Pulled my son out this school. The staff changes every year. It is a revolving door. The Prinicipal does not know how to keep things under control. They test the boys and do not inform families about this until after the test is taken. They keep poor behaving students in the school in fear of looking bad on paper. This school is horrible.
