CQA is good at everything but the teachers and counselors dont really do anything about bullying, harassment, and dont really do anything with mental health.

My son has shown great improvement in writing and reading during his first year at CQA. The school heavily involves parents in their childrens learning journey, school-parent communication is strong.

CQA is a good school with an excellent teaching style. But some of the teachers are sometimes rude or very strict. The way they deal with disabled and their problems is unique and is sometimes effective. But the kids there are not good manners and I don't blame them because sometimes the teacher ignores it. The kids in the classroom are loud, chaotic, say, racist, sexual and rude comments o each other, the teacher, and more. But I think besides the kids over there, the teacher and the school are good.

I saw the effort put into the lessons and work, everything is near perfective.However I find that bullying has now been done in silence, or in other terms, being done in secret or unnoticed. And even when it has been brought to teachers attention, little to nothing is done.... -Scholar of CQA South 2018

CQA is the best school anyone can ever have. Although some people(cough) dislike CQA and believe that it is bad in leadership CQA helps students a lot and it also gives many opportunities. All the teachers are great and many are fun to have around. I've heard many things about CQA and it has impacted many students. CQA gives opportunities for students such as allowing them to enter a program called BTNY and many people have been accepted that it allowed the students to go to great high schools.

The teachers are very supportive between your goals. They push you everyday to be better. The staff,teachers,and principle help very much to improve every students education. This school prepares you for college and high school

CQA has gone from promising to bad, to worse. There is no more culture left at our school and the administration doesn't care about the kids. Our students aren't recognized or respected as individuals. It's all about the test scores and the kids are just a bunch of numbers to the administration. Sure, the leadership team can talk about how great they are and how many new and exciting changes the school is going to be making. But the bottom line is this: CQA can't retain good teachers because the teachers who genuinely love and care about their students and strive to give them the best education possible are constantly admonished. The leadership team believes the absolute worst in their teachers and doesn't care how they treat them. I am very worried for the future of the children at this school. Many of the students are dropping out next year.

This is Suyin, CQA's Executive Director, writing to clarify a few things that have been stated here. First, we value our teachers very highly. This fall, 2014, we have seen many changes including a new building annex in Glendale and the addition of new fifth grade students and new seventh grade teachers. We also have a new group of instructional leaders who have instituted changes to the schedule and teacher work responsibilities in order to make life at CQA sustainable for the people who make the most immediate, positive impact on our students, CQA teachers.

any of cqa's successes rest solely upon the laurels of its teachers. the teaching staff is highly qualified but is not given the proper support needed from the administration. cqa uses a part-time coaching model which doesn't allow for the coaches to actually understand the needs of the children in the classroom. coaches are also unable to offer useful feedback because they are in the classroom so infrequently. however, coaches are the ones evaluating us and ultimately renewing or discontinuing our employment. since its first year, cqa has started to feel less like a school which cultivates the core values it once prided and more like a business. students are treated as numbers and the administration also causes rifts between teachers. the leadership team has clear favorites and chooses to meet secretly with their preferred staff to make decisions which will ultimately effect all teachers. i sincerely hope that this school succeeds in the long run because i believe that all children should receive the best education possible. however, i worry about the school's ability to retain good teachers since it treats them so poorly.

Nicest group of children and most talented/dedicated staff I have ever had the pleasure of working with. All teachers are willing to go above and beyond for their students, which can be evidenced by our 70-hour work weeks. The "leadership team" is a joke. They lack any sort of vision and can hardly even be called a leadership team. They seem to be unclear of their own roles and when one of them drops the ball, they fail to take accountability and instead shift the blame onto the teachers. There is no transparency and absolutely zero trust here. Teachers are overworked, exploited, lied to, made scapegoats, and are essentially treated as pieces of trash. Administration holds teachers to unrealistic deadlines while failing to uphold any of the deadlines they set for themselves.
