Until current administration in charge of the school,
School will remain the same.
There is bullying, discrimination, poor education, racism etc. Administration who is bullying the children instead resolve other problems as well.
If you have IEP , special needs kids stay away!
Poor teachers has no ability to teach, they all handcuffed.

Appropriate amounts of homework are assigned, but in many cases students aren't rewarded for the quality of their work, only that it is done to some extent.

Just like at other typical/average schools there are some fine teachers, some that are doing what is needed and nothing more, and some that probably couldn't teach a dog how to chew a bone - really have no business setting foot in a classroom.

It's all window dressing. They talk a good game, but practically speaking, there isn't much effort made to instill these qualities. This stuff has to come from home anyway, so it's not really relevant.

The principal is fine. The guidance counselors are a mess. Not sure what they're getting paid, but whatever it is, they should thank their lucky stars.

First hand knowledge of multiple incidents of bullying that were met either with no discipline or no appropriate discipline. Other incidents where completely innocent kids were directly accused by staff of being part of a bullying incident before all information was gathered, only later to receive apologies from those same staff members. (Partially,I'm sure, in an effort to avoid litigation).

It's no better than thousands and thousands of other schools in the country, and not nearly as bad as some others. Just average at best all things considered. Like the vast majority of schools in the public education system, teaching is geared to the bottom half of the student body. Diligent, talented, high achievers while being given a modicum of opportunity to flourish, are by no means the focus, are not rewarded/acknowledged beyond grades they earn for themselves, and are occasionally burdened with doing extra work because of unwilling, less-motivated students.
