My child is a high honor roll student and I work closely with the teachers. I must say that I am satisfied with the education my daughter is getting. It is challenging for her and if there is an issue the teachers are receptive to having a conversation with the parents to resolve it. There was an emergency situation that happened with my daughter on a couple of occasions and the situations were always handled professionally, quickly and with empathy by the principal, assistant principal and school social worker. I was very impressed and I would highly recommend this school. Also, the principal accepts my calls all the times and hears he out if I have any concerns.

Both my daughters attend this school and it's wonderful. It's the only school in the entire New York State that allows 7th Graders to take the Earth Science Regents class. Now in 8th Grade my daughter will take 3 Regent Classes - US History, Algebra 1 and Living Environment. She will also take the Spanish FLACS which mean she doesn't have to take another language class in history. The school and staff are wonderful and supportive. School is very diverse and as a minority this means everything to me. There are many opportunities for kids who want to challenge themselves.

First of all if you do not have no kids here please do not talk. This is a bad school. I feel like a lot of racism I feel like they pick and choose and I think this is not a good school for real black kids I’m disgusted with the school

I currently have a 6th Grader at HTH Middle School. He's excelling, growing, constantly challenged by his teachers who genuinely care about him. I'm very happy so far.

Both of our children have attended Herber Middle School. It is a rigorous and challenging school. If you are looking for a challenge this is the place. My children graduated into the high school with at least 4 Regents exams completed! The teachers are dedicated and do whatever it takes to prepare your child for the challenges faced. There are so many fun clubs and musical opportunities! The atmosphere is nurturing yet commanding of respect. This allows the students to go to school every day feeling safe and happy. Both of our children have been happy in every school in District 12. We have had excellent experiences socially and academically. All of the teachers give off a positive vibe and make the students feel proud and welcome in their classes. It's a great school!

My daughter is in the 7th grade and loves the school (teachers, and students). The school does a great job at keeping the kids engaged; while learning, keeping it fun. Communication with parents is excellent. I have access to my daughter's grades online 24/7 and receive emails periodically with up-to-date information and activities from the school. Great school!

My daughter graduated from here and my son is halfway thru. There has never been an issue that hasn't been handled quickly, easily and efficiently. Great communication between school and parents.

I am extremely happy with HTH Middle School. My son just started this year as a 6th grader. So far I have found the teachers extremely professional and enthusiastic. The principal and vice principal are excellent and ensure the students are learning in a safe and happy environment. The students are offered a rich and varied learning experience with a variety of extracurricular clubs and societies.

Located in a urban suburban near NYC but with a small town feel. Both my daughters go to HTHerber. Love the small classes, absolutely devoted young enthusiastic teachers, and wonderful principal and administration who take great pride in the school. A multicultural population provides a global experience, similar to what I grew up with in NYC. Academically challenging with honor classes and supportive of students with varied needs. My daughters have had many opportunities to be involved musically and with community service. There has never been flaunting of materialism by any student, which compared to any other schools on Long Island is amazing to me. This beautiful art deco building (1930's) is very clean but the physical infrastructure of the building is the only improvement I would suggest.

This school is very spirited, holds many pep rallies each year, and the school is very caring. They are also very serious about the state tests, they make easy ways for kids to remember things that their teachers taught them to help them with their state tests. Not only academically good, but their bands are very advanced. They have very good, advanced, band teachers. They learn much each year. In fact, the high school marching band of Malverne, also known as, "Pride of Malverne", have won the state championships two times in a row, 2010 and 2011. They won also on 2004. So, yes. Overall, this school runs very efficiently and smooth.
