Students have so many opportunities to be parts of teams/organizations. Strong academic commitment. Excellence in supporting students with differing abilities and special needs. Teachers and admin are caring and the student body, overall, is filled with a great group of young people.

Had many bad experiences with the school especially with the higher ups. Was lied to directly about things such as mandatory classes and reasons why I was unable to take certain classes. Although there are great teachers as with many schools, malverne has many on the opposite side of the spectrum. The higher ups dont help the students unless you have a relationship with them or your parents have a relationship with the school or the school board. As a student Ive been cut out of classes in order to help my gpa but instead of dropping the class that I wasnt doing as well in (which was a class I didnt want to take to begin with and was forced to take 2 of the same subject because of this class) they dropped the higher science class which also happened to be an Ap class and was my highest class that year, effectively dropping my gpa and removing my college credit. These are only some of the problems Ive had since highschool not even going back from middle school or elementary school which I attended in the same district. Overall many of the teachers are great and make the school better but the overwhelming amount of higher ups that work against the students and the large amount that dont care enough to help or hurt the students is unbelievable. My best experience from the school has to be the number of teachers that helped me more then they had to and that would be about the only positive thing I can say with certainty about the school

My child is a very happy student at Malverne HS. This school provides enriching academic rigor in all subject areas. It is by far the best school for Music. I'm a proud band mom and my child is even prouder to represent our district in competitive marching band. This band is a highly dedicated and hard working band, resulting in being one of the top in our state. This high school gives every child the opportunity to tap into his or her own talent, academic expertise and or athletic strength. The teachers and administration are dedicated and give their own time to ensure each child meets his or her potential. No child is ever left unnoticed. It is a safe and calm atmosphere, where all students throughout the grades are friends and support one another. We are looking forward to the new extension being built, where there will be even more room for the outstanding STEAM classes offered to the students. There is something for everyone, whether it is biomedical engineering or science research. There is so much the HS has to offer to the students. If your family is lucky enough to live in District 12 schools I hope you will take advantage of what the high school has to offer your child.

My son has shared with me that no one bullies because in their school culture, there is no tolerance whatsoever!

The marching band is amazing! The diligence and musicianship the students display is incredible. Those same students learn discipline and respect for hard work and a job well done. Many of them are intrinsically motivated, important for when they go to college. One child graduated in 2011 and has done well post high school. My second child is currently a 9th. grader and I hope they can have an even better experience. I wish the teachers were more supportive of their students' efforts in band and the sports. I wish the Malverne community its self was "less removed," from the district. There's a pervasive mentality of "Us/them." Private school/Public School. In 2015, it's repulsive.
