They have intervention services, but it can sometimes get in the way of homework because they don't allow students to work on homework during intervention.

I don't know if this is a good thing or not, but they have a good discipline policy. Your child will get detention for the smallest infractions. Too many infractions, and they will not be eligible to go on trips. It serves as a good way to keep kids behavior in check.

This school is effective, but the workload is a little too intense. I understand that they are trying to get your child ready for the Common Core NYS exam, and they do a heckuva job at it. However, I feel that since there are but so many hours in the day, the amount of work that is required to achieve those good test scores comes at the expensive of extra curricular activities. I believe this may eventually lead to student burnout. Kids should be allowed to be kids and enjoy life, not have to spend hours doing super rigorous classwork and homework just to get a high score on some stupid test.
They also have something called "self directed learning" where your child works by themselves on the computer for part of the day. This may work well for motivated students, but it's not effective for students who need redirection to stay on task.

My son is now in 2nd grade. He began in Kindergarten which was a great start at this school for any student. He started reading in Kindergarten within 30 days. I appreciate the strict uniform rule as it makes not only school shopping easier and more affordable, but it keeps kids from bullying other kids based on clothing/sneaker choices. The staff, including the Principal knows all the children by their names and that's a plus. The friendliest staff I've ever had the pleasure of meeting and working with. Overall this is a great school for any parent who wants the best education for their child(ren).

Homework is given 7 days a week which may be a bit much for the child, however, it has excelled my son reading and math level tremendously

There are 2 teachers per class and they break the children up in groups to individualized their learning
