Im a parent thats all for structure. What they do here is not that. The school gives a very institutionalized vibe that makes me concerned for all of our children. Its amazing that they push them academically, but I believe in creating well rounded young adults. It feels as though they are interested in creating extremely intelligent robots.

I went to this school for 3rd and 4th grade I feel as if they didnt care about me or teach properly because now Im in a different school and getting bad grades because I was in success for 3rd, 4th and 5th grade which I know that this school only goes to 4th but it gave me a very bad experience because the teachers always yelled at me over falling asleep but I fell asleep because they always gave a lot of homework that I stayed up doing until 3 am one time and I dont feel as if young kids should go through that.

Some weird set of people most has no teaching experience. Most in charge has no background Eva needs to have them thoroughly checked out before employment. Success is a sad military institution.

This school is not for everybody. I repeat- this school is not for everybody. The communication is great, if you engage. Before my child started SA officially the school reached out several times over the Summer to get the parents up to speed and explain to us what we were in for. The mistake a lot of parents make is thinking you send your child off to school, the teachers teach them and you take care of everything else. NOT the case. The learning process is a team effort between the teachers and the parents. The school is not just educating the children academically but showing them the tools to be a well-rounded, critical-thinking, respectful, and educated child growing into an adult. The work is done at school AND at home. Some parents aren't into that and that's ok. Again, this school may not be for you. For parents researching this school please visit the school, talk to the staff, make your presence known. We are currently 3 years in and I have not regretted my choice to enroll my child here. My child is happy (and not by force), well-educated, independent and loves her school and teachers. Any minute issues we've had were addressed with either the teacher or leadership team and were rectified either in person or via email/phone. Upstairs dismissal is in fact a thing but it's an opportunity for the teachers to have a one-on-one with the parents to address potential issues that you can work on together to improve. THIS is communication and partnership. While the front door is unlocked the school has a school safety agent right past the lobby where you're required to sign in and provide ID before going any further. There is also a safety agent and a school crossing guard present at arrival and dismissal and a member of the leadership team outside to greet the students as they enter in the morning. From Kindergarten, the students are addressed as scholars and their classes are named after colleges because that is what they aspire to. They are constantly reminded of what they're capable of and are pushed to use their minds to solve problems. They are expected to be in full uniform daily and to respect each other and themselves. Again, parents are expected to be involved. Emails and texts from the school are sent very often as well as through ParentSquare, the app network uses which is set up before school even begins. You also have each teacher's email address and phone number and can reach out to them at any point of the day. No regrets so far.

They are a sorry excuse for a school.
Suspending 5 yr old children after only 2 weeks in school for behavioral issue. As a mother, I am outraged, and disappointed in this charter school. I am very concerned about the safety of my child and that of other children. The doors are not locked; anybody can just walked right in and they have the nerve to tell me " they cannot protect my child if he or she is not listening to the teacher's instructions and they can't guarantee their safety.because they are not behaving " Your doors are not even locked!
You're mentally bullying people's children and you're talking about safety. Referring to 5 vr olds as " SCHOLARS" the school is dirty and the staff is very unprofessional and uneducated. They are unethical. Their school should be shut down because they are not focused on educating the children. They're trying to raise them. It is the parents job to raise their children. As school educators; your job is to educate.

THIS IS NOT A SCHOOL!!! We're in week 3 at the Rosedale location in Queens. So far: The teachers yelled and chastised the children on ORIENTATION DAY! They only had the children for a introduction for an hour and a half. I emailed the office with my concerns and still haven't received follow-up. In the meantime, Since day one the teachers and staff have constantly yelled, berated, and chastised my child and his classmates. My kid comes home everyday with stories and upset about how he was treated. If a child can not tell you what they learned only how they were treated and how they felt about the day there is a problem!!! I have called and emailed the school for access to the online ParentSquare app and I am given the run around. Communication is abysmal. Lastly, two days ago my child's teacher put his hands on my kid without warning or justification. He yanked him by the arm to make an "example" of him to show the other kids how to line up on a yellow line! My child is new to Success and in the fourth grade. His previous schools have been on military bases and he has never had issues or been mistreated until now. They force the kids to smile for pictures and videos to post (totally weird), you wouldn't have to force the children to smile if they were really happy and enjoying themselves. I have called and left messages at the corporate office and am waiting for a call back. I am withdrawing my child and will make formal complaints with appropriate agencies. This is not a school. It is a CORPORATE entity who makes money off your children being enrolled and runs the school like a prison. They are only concerned with testing since that effects their funding. THIS IS NOT A SCHOOL. THIS IS NOT A SCHOOL.

This school is horrible. They treat the children like inmates. The tones I have observed the staff to have with the children are degrading and un-motivating. The 4th grade AP even cursed at my child. They do not care about social-emotional support. If your child cant score 100% on the tests everyday, they get something called upstairs dismissal where they tell you LITERALLY EVERYDAY, how much of a failure your child is. I have had multiple meetings with Principal Hall who also cares less and turns a blind to the staffs poor behavior. If you happen to still try this school I encourage you to have thorough conversation with your children about how they are being treated.

My son has been attending this school since kindergarten and is currently in 4th grade. This school is absolutely awesome. A world class, top of the line education free of charge. I have not regretted not sending him to private school not one day. He has excelled and loves learning. Their strategies work. Be prepared to be all in and very involved. They are in constant communication. Its really like a village family all working with you to get your kid where they need to be. Very organized and passionate staff . Abosolutely love this school.

I absolutely LOVE this school. The family atmosphere made me confident that my son was left in good hands. I was nervous because i felt that his old school PS.138 (in Rosedale) didnt care for the students and didnt prepare him for Kindergarten. The work challenged him and I appreciate it because he met every challenge. Ms. Eaton and Ms. Pickett eased my fears and whenever he was having trouble, they would contact me immediately and we'd work together to get him on track. They are every good with kids and you can tell it's their true passion. Taking him out of public school was a great decision and I don't regret it at all.

At the beginning of the year they told us the parents and scholars what to expect, I was nervous because it was ALOT. But they made sure he succeeded and they never gave up on him. They believed in him and that means the most to me. I refuse to move out of Rosedale because I'm scared I'll never find a school like this. The staff, principal, assistant principal down to the school safety make Success Academy Rosedale feel like FAMILY.
