My child has some sensory issues and this school offers NOTHING for children who need simulation and have disabilities. They label the child as "trouble" and push them aside. The school district will also be quick to try and tell you your child has ADHD and tell you to put them on medication. My child was only in first grade and was being bullied for being "different" than the other children and it was handled VERY POORLY! I was told that it would be taken care of and it continued throughout the entire school year making it extremely difficult for my child to even want to attend school anymore. Everyday he would scream and cry. He was having his lunch money taken from him, his food, and being touched inappropriately by another child and I was told because it didn't happen in the classroom there wasn't anything that they could do. It was a relief for the school year to end but sadly as the school year is now starting back up they put my child back into the same classroom with this kid. When I brought it to the attention of his new teacher I was told the same thing all over again, "they'll be separated so they are not together". It didn't work last year so how will it work this year? Whatever happened to ZERO TOLERANCE!!!!??? And please stop putting labels on the children who might need the little extra stimulation and who may fidget with anxiety or other quirks. Stop putting them front and center in the classroom as if they are "bad" or in timeout when they are doing things that can not be helped.

This school is great. My children love it there. Teachers are wonderful and so friendly.

I love to volunteer but my child's classroom teacher made me so incredibly flustered that I didn't enjoy the experience one bit. I don't understand how my child learns anything here. They have so much criteria that needs to be met in such a short time frame that it leaves little or no room for some of the children that need extra attention. Then the children get pushed into special ed because the teachers have virtually no time to spend one on one with the kids. It's not fair at all. And the new principle???Forget it......it's easier to get information from a rock than her. Who does the hiring around here? I am very saddened that a once great school has turned in to this.
