I was a student here and ended up dropping out, because I wasnt going to be allowed to graduate on time. They only care about you if youre an athlete. They dont prepare you for college. Flunked out of here to end up doing great in college and nursing school. Dont send your child here unless you want them to feel depressed and defeated.

This is by far one of the worst schools on earth! As a former parent, my husband and I think they need to make a different choice for head principal. That man is dismissive, condescending, and refuses to listen to the parents. He calls you in for a conference, so he can treat you like dirt. They pass students at this school whether they pass the academic requirements or not. Wish we had a better alternative. If I could have give a zero rating, I certainly would have.

I am a former student at NTHS and graduated in the class of 2022. I have very few nice things to say about this school. I was a special education student and it was such an awful experience. Most of the teachers were rude and not understanding at all. They treated us as if we didnt understand anything simple. 80% of the staff are very rude and actually look for arguments with students. I didnt feel safe inside the building ever. Teachers would leave doors that lead outside propped open for themselves so anyone could get in. Any school drama that needed discipline, it was always one sided. Even the principal would pick sides regardless of the situation. I was bullied for weeks and when I finally stood up for myself I got kicked out of school for months. While that girl received no punishment. Not just me was treated this way. Many students there complain about unfair treatment from the administration. The kids that are getting bullied are being punished for standing up for themselves and bullies are getting away with it. Often times teachers will sit there and let kids scream in each others faces without calling for security or a higher up. The only good thing was that there were some good teachers who actually cared about our education and were really understanding. I even had a few teachers tell me that I can talk to them whenever I needed because the school councilors and social workers were never free. Highly recommend staying far away from north Tonawanda high school

At this time, NTHS is not a school that is conducive to learning. The building is extremely dirty and poorly managed. It has a nice library and pool, but everything else about is very dreary and out of date. The administration is nonexistent, rarely available in the halls and have poor leadership skills. The student life is hit or miss. Some kids are great, others aren't. NTHS does offer good career academies and after-school clubs, which is a plus. The teachers have developed very poor attitudes and are quick to point the finger at parents and students for their own shortcomings. The Special Education department is abysmal. The services are often non-compliant and employs one consultant English teacher who is extremely rude and dismissive to student and parent concerns. The students suffer under her in the mean time. This simply isn't right. Overall, North Tonawanda is not a great environment in my opinion. It has potential to be great but until there is a culture change, starting with the principal, things will continue to suffer here.
