Spending every day in this school is like spending time in a dungeon. There are many idiot teachers and students in this school. The sports system is ruled by politics. For example, if you are the best receiver on the football team but you don't know the coach as much as other kids do, then you won't play. This is the reason why the sports program sucks in Brockport. Just avoid this school if you want your kid to be happy.

Thorough communication between all parts of the school & system could be better, but certainly not bad.

Many teachers, at least in my experiance, take care to ensure you are learning the material- even if its differently than the rest of the class. They are much more likely to help if you bring up the problem with them and let them know you are having difficulty. Of course, not every lesson can be altered, but many can be.

Although some are far better than others (as with any school) all the teachers I've had throughout the school district were fairly good. A handful could have been better, but for the most part they were amazing and really helped me grow as both a student and an individual. I connected with many of the teachers here, and found them pleasant to work with and professional. I'm a good student, however, so of course the small group of my peers who cared nothing for school and/or did little to no work/effort did not like the teachers nor the school.

I love attending here; the teachers are supportive, the classes are challenging, and I really don't see the problems that other reviews are talking about. The High School has amazing courses that other schools don't have, and I made some of my best friends here. The teachers are inspiring, and the PE program is incredible! I never enjoyed PE until I started here, and now I can't wait for it. The food here isn't super amazing, but it's not bad either, good choices for it, though. The snack bar is nice, too. The special needs kids are treated very well here also, from what I've seen. They really put an effort into making them feel accepted and part of the group! I am extremely proud of my school, and I recommend this school to all.

I see the negative posts on here regarding Brockport schools and I am shocked. Are these the majority of students or just a few with bad experiences and want to slam the district as a whole? My children had good experiences and went onto 4 year schools and so did their peers. Not every school is perfect, but this school is better than most and I would recommend it to my friends or family as a place to raise kids and get a good education.

I am a former student of brockport high school. I was sexually assualted in freshman year by a senior and when i went to a teacher and counselor I was told i was lying. I was shoved into lockers, filing cabinets, and down the stairs. My softmore year I was bullied by my geometry teacher for suddenly getting sick and missing a whole week of school. She would make fun of how i wasn't able to complete the work fast enough, she would always point me out to the class I started to suffere from panic attacks even thinking about going to school or stepping near her classroom. I tried switching classes in the beginning of the year but they told me I wasn't allowed to switch because i disliked the teacher. I gained school phobia, severe panic attacks, and lots of scars. My attendance dropped my grades went from 80-90s to 60s. It took them the whole year and me breaking down in front of the assistant principle to take me out of geometry. My junior year I still suffered from school phobia. I didn't feel safe. Finally I said enough. Switch me to alternative school or I am dropping out. I have never been happier than I am at my new school.

This school has become a cesspool for incompetence. Starting with the leadership to the teaching staff. Favoritism and nepotism is rampant as illustrated by sports teams being overrun by teachers and staffs kids regardless of their athletic ineptness, and family members acquiring jobs as they are the best for status-quo. Sat through four years of watching side dealings by teachers for their kids playing time and accidentally overheard one a few years ago. Perhaps it's because it's a small town and therefore easier to notice misdealing. The school board is truly teacher friendly which means it's not taxpayer or child oriented. If given a choice avoid this district as it's squandering it's ideals of being student first.

Love bullying that's encouraged by administration? Hate your kid's useless self esteem? Sick of your child having a good education and enjoying life? Then send them to Brockport High School! I'm a junior there currently and I can verify that an intense judgmental atmosphere and relentless amount of bullying is exactly what you'll experience at BHS. On a more serious note, because of my experience at this school I attempted suicide at the end of my sophomore year. When I brought this to the attention of the administrators via email I did not get so much as a response from any of them. It's safe to say that the administrators at this school care nothing for the welfare of their students and only for the welfare of their wallets. Please, don't even think of sending your kids here. While there are nice teachers, this is not a safe place by any means. It's a petri dish for depression at it's best.
