Pro:
Teachers and administration are both super friendly and supportive.
Administration holds lots of seminars to connect with parents and parents have plenty of chances to speak with administration.
There are many clubs and sport teams to join.
Con:
7 and 8 grade Eng and Math teachers should spend more time reviewing state exams. Some schools spend several weeks to prepare the kids on state exams. Our school spends only a few days... this drags down our overall school rating by at least 1-2 points... hope Math and English teachers of 7 & 8 grade will be able to spend more time preparing the students with state exams and help to bring up our overall school rating to where it should be.

Depends on what teachers you have. Some are great but some are horrible.

As an actual alumni, not just a parent who hears things from their children I will tell you the truth about this school. This is an average school to be honest. I know there were some students who actually live in Queens and take the n6 on Hempstead Turnpike to school. That is illegal but Floral Park doesnt do anything about it. Some teachers are great especially the teachers that teach AP classes. They offer a lot of sport activities which is great. FPM now has a new turf field which is nice. They renovated the front of the school which was needed because the school had no curb appeal at all. Floral Park is a decent school but I would not say it is worth all the taxes people in the Floral Park village pay. South Floral Park & Elmont dont pay as much taxes as we do. However, they get the benefits of FPM which sucks. Another negative thing about this school is the amount of alcohol/drug use. We had so many deaths of drug overdoses and drunk driving when I was a student there. It was terrible. I guess things happen but it was so sad. Its a decent school but I would say Franklin Square or New Hyde Park are better areas to live that are close by.
