As a parent of a special needs child this district really doesn't deserve any stars but I'm trying to be nice. The CSE board couldn't careless about your concerns. My child has a dual diagnosis, so some attention should be given. They get enough funding from the state for a child with disabilities.
Either you get an attorney or as my pediatrician had said go to the media, and then that special needs parent will be heard. I have a child who is higher functioning and verbal than those in her class and still they refuse for another placement or another class in the same school.

Both my kids graduated from Sewanhaka High School and moved on to college. The transition to college was a smooth one, thanks to the teachers and staffs at Sewanhaka for providing them adequate guidance

Worst school ever. My son is in 7th grade and im very disappointed with this school curriculum because they don't give homework and whenever they do it's about 1/2 page long. This is ridiculous. When you deserve to be in advance class they will keep you in regular class until your brain level decreases to a regular standard. That's what they did to my son. I don't know until what other basis they direct kids to advance because my son is getting 80s and 90s.

I attended this school for 7th and 8th grade and it was a horrible school. I left and attened private school because the people at sewanhaka were unbearable. The rules may say that tthere is a dress code, but when I attened there, boys wore their pants on the ground and girls wore strapless shirts and booty shorts. Not to mention the floor was filthy and you would constantly find weaves that were just left in the middle of the hallway after a fight that broke out (happened at least once a week, if not more). I was very unhappy with my experience at sewanhaka.

This school is a great for your child's educational needs. The staff cares about the students and is more than willing to educate and talk to the parents concerning the child's needs. As a parent is hard to believe that all schools are not equal. but this one is a few cuts above all the rest.
