As a student here The staff is amazing the support and opportunities are endless. We have an amazing music director and arts program , it has improved so much over the years.

South High is known for the South High Marathon Dance, in which hundreds of students dance for 28 hours to raise money for the community. The dance creates an enormous sense of community and instills character in the students.

I loved attending South High. I always felt that I could be open with my teachers and the staff and administration instilled several ways in which anyone who was having a hard time would be able to get help. We were always encouraged to tell someone if we were having a hard time, and I always felt comfortable talking to staff members. Like all schools, it has its weak points, but overall a great school.

The school was mediocre in the 90's and has progressively improved with academics and declined in student care. Bullying is an issue and the school is ineffective in dealing with students with issues. The suicide rate within the district is disturbingly high!

As an Alumni of South High, I can say that I received a great Education there. My teachers were compassionate, my classes were competitive, and I felt well rounded by attending South High. School is well known for Volleyball, Softball, Boys and Girls Soccer and track.

It's dirty, majority of the staff is rude or lazy, tons of broken equipment such as chairs, desks, pencil sharpeners, and hand sanitizer in the cafeteria. Ceiling tiles missing or wet due to leaks, message board outside of school is always out of date.
