Great school, wonderful teachers, hands on, their communication is top tier, teachers make it super fun and easy for the kids to learn, no bullying tolerance, peer mediation before harsh discipline such as suspension. A lot of family engagement offered.

My family has had 3 generations of kids go here and we all loved it. My sons are in 2nd and 7th and they also love it. My oldest was struggling a bit with his mental health and Lorraine went above and beyond every step of the way. They really have been phenomenal. Some of the teachers feel like family. Very happy my kiddos attend Lorraine

Lorraine Elementary School is a fantastic place for children to learn and grow. The administration and support staff try to make everyone feel incredibly welcome. We genuinely cares about each child's well-being and development. As a school we maintain high expectations for both academics and behavior, while providing the exact scaffolding and encouragement kids need to meet those standards. Its a warm, nurturing environment that truly strives to partner with parents to ensure every student thrives.

My children have been attending Lorraine as early as 2018. We have loved our experience every year. The teachers are fantastic, and we have had nothing but a great experience with the administration team. Covid limited a lot of parent involvement for the longest time, but Im so glad they are working to get the parents heavily involved again. My kids feel safe, and are happy to be there.

Both of my kids have been going here since Pre-K and I wouldnt have them go anywhere else in Buffalo. The teachers are amazing. The kids are respectful and kind to each other. They have a zero tolerance bully policy. I would 100% recommend this school

Lorraine offers many after school family nights for students and their families such as: math night, music and art night, wellness night, teach or treat, and holiday concerts. Lorraine has a really supportive student support team of counselors, social workers, and a psychologist to support the students' mental health concerns and well-being at school. Administration is supportive of working together with families and staff to create a welcoming and safe environment. The grade level teams work well together and the building has an overall friendly feeling. This is the second building I've taught at in Buffalo Public Schools and I'm really happy with my switch to Lorraine. I hope to finish my career here. Students are overall respectful and engaged. The school has well-established procedures and expectations so parents, staff, and students know what to expect. The administration is consistent and fair, teachers demonstrate empathy and care for their students.

I went to this school from 2013-2018 and I genuinely didn't like it. The students were cruel, and while some of the teachers were nice, most of my experiences were not amazing. I was bullied, pushed away, and eventually had to beg my mom to send me to a different school so I didn't feel like i was the odd one out. If you didn't come from a high end family, or didn't have friends, you were immediately singled out, no matter what your situation was. I can only hope that the school improves with the new principal, but I lost my hope when I left. Don't send your kids here.

Horrible school as soon as you go to 6th grade BEWARE the one teacher she is a SEVERE Bully threatens kids ,wears a grinch mask to get "bad "students out of the classrooms. Reported Her oh she is a GREAT teacher they don't care how parents nor a child feels . bullying is an issue show them threats oh it is not like that when a child stands up for them selves they are the issue they get in trouble not the bully .They don't reward the students a child with a very high average perfect attendance gets nothing but here some more work for you do to do while we honor other students so unfair .The one gym is also a bully .The teachers stick up for each other along with the staff .They don't care how a parent nor student feels .The principal last year lied to
parents forced students to take the 3 to 8th optional tests .no one care not even the superintendent what the principal did.New Principal which was the old assistant principal is HORRIBLE she was horrible when assistant principal she don't care what a child or parent feel her attitude is nasty. This school is the worst gave my child serve anxiety they also scare the students .

I would not recommend sending your child here. If your child is bullied the school will do nothing about it. Kids that are bullies are well liked and favored by the teachers. While actually good and quiet students are ignored and given half assed rewards. Some of the teachers that are actually nice are way to easy going and cant control their class. While teachers that are strict are way too strict. In my experience I was picked on and bullied and the school did nothing. For the love of god please dont send your child here

I've been going to the school for about 8-9 years now, I've witnessed and been a victim of bullyingwhich Mr. Banks fails to handle correctlyand the quick punishment of suspension when the victim of the bullying defends themselves but they ignore students spewing homophobic, abilest, and transphobic slurs. In my experience, a lot of teachers fail to acknowledge the obvious signs of self-harm. There was also an occasion where a teacher sprayed lysol spray in a students eyes. Why is none of this discussed amongst the board of education?? I wouldn't wish the things I've witnessed nor experienced at this school on my worst enemy.

Mr. Miklas needs to come back for the sake of the children. This new principal Mr.Banks is taking this school down fast. He is not there to help, encourage or support these students. Handles situations with quick punishment of suspension instead of listening to students and approaching manners in a different way.
When he is questioned by the parents he is quick to be dismissive and shut the conversation down while not be held accountable for his actions or lack of. Extremely unfair with his judgement and punishment, these students are losing respect for him and so are the parents.

I think that the principal (which is named by the website) Mr. Miklas is doing a very good job of trying to create a Great school. Kudos go out to him. I just don't feel he has as much support as he needs to fully accomplish that goal right away. One day my son may return, but at this time I am probably switching him for next year. This is due to various things: From the busses (which is a separate issue), to the lunches never being what is on the menu; to no one walking the little kids to their busses; to his class being so large; to his Gen Ed teacher not really seeming to care about her students; to his Spec. Ed teacher seeming to go back & forth between caring and professional to not so much; to not getting a call at work (only a vm on cell) about my son throwing up at school (when they have 3 numbers available to contact); to the nurse/nurse's secretary not being very nice nor accommodating to my son when he broke out in hives; to the main office staff not being friendly or personable; to Art on a Cart & Music on a Cart (this is so upsetting to me because children are not getting anything close to the full effect of these classes); etc.
