Amazing school! Great teachers. Mr Wing was an awesome principal. Fun field trips. The kids in the area this school is located in can be very mean sometimes though. This school does have bullying.

The district talks a good game but our experience was not good. To be fair, the NYS curriculum is laughable. The staff has a difficult job as the teacher/student ratio is closer to 18 to 1.
That said, we noticed behavioral issues in our child almost immediately. Attempts to address it with the teacher, principal and district bore no fruit. We were shut down at every turn.
NYS Principal and Teacher assesments ( which are a parents right) were denied to us.
Very clique-y environment. You are in or you are out.
The school had many staff quit / retire and several open positions. Some staff are really great while others are not friendly and frankly, do not strike me as being academics.
Multi-culturalism has replaced academic rigor or structure. There was lots of TV and tablet time at school.
In short, our kid became withdrawn, does not like school, has regressed academically and the school system feels closed off to us at times. We will homeschool next year.
Some teachers may be great, our experience was limited. Public school, in general, is in a sad state. Im sure it is better than some.

Very concerning. For example, a student told my son "you cannot do it because you are XXX(different race not white)." I reported this to the teacher, she responded with one sentence "I will take care of it". But she did nothing. No follow up email either.

No feedback from teacher at all. Homework was barely given and not meaningful.
