Great school, the friends my kid has made are nice and from caring families. The public school here is good but there are too many students and kids can get lost in the crowd. There is a friendly feeling at this school for kids and parents.

This is a great school! My daughter has been attending SCC since 6th grade. She enjoys it and is growing into a thoughtful young lady with some great friends. All the teachers know her, even the ones who don’t teach her. The kids who transferred in after 6th grade say they experience a little less social pressure than in larger schools.

Nearly all my daughter’s homework assignments are posted online, often with study aids and other digital resources. That’s very helpful!

This school teaches students in 6th grade through 12th grade. There are so many teachers that the classes are small. The individual attention each student gets is amazing.

The students are constantly raising money and collecting goods for the less fortunate in local and world communities. They support many charitable organizations throughout the school year. Each semester, every student is required to do a number of community service hours. They then write short passages about how their community service experiences have helped someone else. Even the lobby walls have framed posters highlighting graduates who have become significant philanthropists.

I have two students that attend Saratoga Central Catholic and have been very happy with the level of education and opportunities they have been presented with. A Catholic faith based education will continue to set Saratoga Catholic apart from other schools and mold our children into mature young adults who recognize God's presence, live their faith, and lead by example.

Horrible bullying. This school gets a good amount of coverage, sponsorships, and help from a specific local company in which the owners send their children. One of these children was in the problem group and the principal knew that any action taken against the student would result negatively for the school. Horrible bullying goes unchecked and the victim is blamed.

Steadfast administration, mainly the principal, refused to do anything about bullying and explicitly blamed the victim.

Bullying seems to be everywhere today. The school like all other middle and high schools has its share. At Spa Catholic though, I as a parent can quickly identify the problem person, notify the school and address it with that parent, as I have in the past.

Spa Catholic is a typical catholic school in today's world in that they just do not have the extra programs that some students require to function at the level appropriate for their school age.
That being said the school and its teachers goes out of their way to assist students who may need extra help in functioning in class, and even outside of it.

Despite the lack of resources available to the school the staff at Spa Catholic are always trying to improve the academics and social environment in the school.

No school is perfect but the staff, particularly the religious ed teachers really provided the moral guidance our kids needed as they got older. There are knucklehead students in every school but with such a small class size its easier to address the virtues of integrity, compassion and respect for others than at any other schools in the area.

The teachers, particularly at the high school level my wife and I would consider outstanding. As parents talking among ourselves we always say we would pit Mr. W (Science), Mrs Crowther (English) and Mrs Dubois (Science/Math) up against any other teacher combo in the entire area.

The level of homework for our kids at the school is and were just right. As parents my wife and I believe that it is not too much to ask our kids to work an additional hour or two in the evening time on school work. We were kind of in shock when we found out our nieces and nephews did no homework at the local public high school. The work did not interfere with our kids extracurricular activities at all.

My wife and I are parents of two children who attended all seven years of Spa Catholic, and one currently in the high school. Before we chose the school we looked at the Saratoga County Chamber of Commerce website for the graduation stats on all the schools in the county. Hands down Spa Catholic was so far above the others in student SAT scores and grads moving on to four year colleges.
The school did not disappoint us. I would rate Spa Catholic as OUTSTANDING. I would rate the school's academics as very good. This is in large part due to the excellent teachers, particularly on the high school level. Like most catholic schools Spa Catholic can't compete with the publics for diversity of programs but as a parent I wanted my kids to learn and be challenged on the core college prep subjects, i.e. Math, Science, English, History. They got it at this school.
In addition to the academics the continued instilling of our catholic values in our children were important to us. Although everything is never perfect, this school with its more intimate setting imbued in our children the Catholic value of service to others and kindness to all that was part of what my wife and I were looking for in a school.
For us as parents we believe the the proof is in the pudding as our oldest will be graduating from Villanova University this year with a Naval Officer Commission, and our son is in his second year at Northeastern in their Honors Program. Spa Catholic helped mold them to achieve continued success in college and we believe beyond.

My daughter just graduated from Saratoga Central Catholic. The overall experience was excellent. The academic rigor prepared her well for testing and college. She was able to participate in any athletic, student government or other activity she wished because of the welcoming coaches and small class size. The students are on average very polite, studious, and friendly. She obtained college scholarships from top schools upon graduation!

Saratoga Central Catholic High School is an absolutely outstanding school! The teachers are not only warm and caring, but are highly educated individuals. They try very hard to give your child the best possible education ever and are very dedicated. It is great to have such a small school where all of the teachers know who your child is and actually cares about what happens to them. This school doesn't tolerate any bad behavior between students, which as a parent has put my mind at ease everyday that I send my child to school. Your child will be expected to work very hard. Help from the parents with homework and projects is a must!! . As a parent, I am confident that my child will someday be accepted to a great college and will have a future that is filled with success. If you are looking for a quality school that offers the most and only wants the best for your child, you have found the right school. You will like the school principal, Mr. Lombard. He is a sweet man and easy to talk to. The kids love talking to him and he is always there to help. My husband and I give this school five golden stars!!!!

First let me say, I am not overly religoius, my wife is. The balance between religion and realism, is good. If you are on one extreme or the other , then you will not be happy. The education is very good. the teachers are caring and approachable. If you spend anytime involved in your childs life, you'll be pleased. They welcome you to get involved and I recommend you do. If you expect the school to raise your children for you, look elsewhere. They teach and expect the kids to be accountable, independant and responsible. The teachers are availble for extra help daily. They have answered emails and phone calls regularly. They have also been available to meet. A huge plus is the opportunities for sports and other activies. They welcome the kids to participate in sports and other activities. They do kick kids out. That is refreshing. I magine some of the one stars came from those parents. They also have some very wealthy spoiled kids and parents who are used to getting their way. They are not the norm. Finally, Mr. Lombard is an outstanding princpal. He is very dedicated and is a fixture in the school, day and night. I am sorry to see his name tarnished in another review.

If you are expecting a Catholic education this isn't the school for you. Really just a private school. There is religious education, but that is about the extent of it. Many students attend for sports programs. The coaches do not exemplify Christian values. Favoritism and overt racism exit. This is a small cliquey school that doesn't welcome newcomers. The administration is incompetent. Phone calls and emails are not returned. There are a few good teachers. Overall a very disappointing experience.

My daughter attends this school. We value the strong connection between parents and teachers. When we need to speak with a teacher, s/he knows our daughter very well, partially because of the size of the school but also because of the dedication of the teachers. The sports program is great, lots for kids to do. No place is perfect, but SCC works well for us!

Critiques on the social atmosphere are unfortunately true, the Catholic Queens do not change over the decades, but no worse than other schools. Teaching is on a much higher level than public schools, MUCH higher, (no, not perfect) with a lot of enriched courses and AP courses, which accumulate to college credits at a fraction of the cost. Small class size is the biggest plus, most teachers use the time for great one on one teaching. Tuition is stiff unless you are rich, but it is a spectacular investment in your kid, as Spa Central will prepare them for a good college, and might even snag them some scholarship money. Be prepared to work with your student, but if you do, this is one of the best investments you will ever make in their lives

I have been impressed with SCC. The students respect each other and the teachers. The environment is friendly and caring. The teachers go out of the way to help each child succeed. The administration is open to creating new ways for students to have access to more courses through technology and have been open to student started clubs and programs.

i was not impressed by this school at all. for one thing, the faculty is incompetent. they dont know how to teach, or keep their students under control. the students are mean and have a LOT of cliques. this being said new students are not welcomed with open arms. there are next to no extra curricular activities. the tuition is incredibly high. if you can, choose another school, because scc is not worth the trouble.

SCC is a small, but progressive MS/HS that deeply cares about it's students Success at this school is what each student makes of it. There is plenty of opportunity to become invlved if one wants to.
