Zero tolerance approach to bullying at CP Schools.

My work allows me to interact with families with in every school district all over Long Island. The reason CP is such a hot market is the schools are the best kept secret on LI. Class sizes K-12 are small. College level AP courses are plentiful. Kids who perform at a high level have plenty of company with like students. Children who would normally struggle elsewhere, get the additional aid and attention they need. The principals are out front and know every student's name. From Math to Business courses the kids have many choices. I cannot recommend Carle Place School District more strongly.

My children attend Middle and High School in Carle Place. Rigorous academics there including appropriate work load each night to prepare them to achieve at a high level and prepare them for college level courses and expectations.

The teachers at CP are able to meet the needs of high achievers and less capable students as well.

I have had a terrible experience. I have 2 children with ADHD the teachers there dont want to be bothered with redirecting them and giving the extra time to explain work. My son has dropped 4 reading levels and no one noticed until I had to hire a child advocate to help me fight for what my kids needed to succeed. As far as bullying goes I think the teachers are the worst of them all. They make the kids feel the worst about themselves. The school is too small not enough kids there are less than 100 kids per grade. 30% of this years 9th grades left to go to different school. Why because its like living in a bubble. Same kids from kindergarten to 12th grade. The statistics look good for College but how many of those kids stay in college and how many fail because they were not properly prepared? And most kids apply to College because they are shamed if they dont. They put up a banner that announces where they are going. Also our sports program is terrible compared to other schools. I could go on and on. If your concidering Carle Place Schools, think twice and do your research. Ask parents about their experience and ask the kids too.

As long as Hw is done and done to the best of your ability you are fine. AP teachers also use HW to supplement test grades which tend to be low because they are hard classes

Very well, I enjoyed my time here (excluding middle school) and I am applying to very selective schools yet I feel very prepared thanks to my education here

The school is great when it comes to homework. The teachers help the students when they need it and that is what matters.

They do not slack off they do there work. They are very talented people and can do many different things. One teacher in the middle school is a math, science,and support teacher.

I believe the school is great for a person looking for a smaller community the younger schools are even better I believe there is a favoritism thing going on but the school is great and I would never leave it.

I look back and am greatful for the background for higher learning they provided me with. Disciplinary problems did not interfere with the learning environment. The staff was professional.

The small class sizes in this school allow for a great deal of individual attention from teachers towards their students. The teachers all have great attitudes and are focused on preparing their students for the next level of education. There is a vast number of extracurricular activities that cater to all students. CPHS is a great place for students grow into young adults and prepare for the realities of adult life.

I went to this school for three years. There are many advantages to being a student to this school, but of course, there are disadvantages as well. Since the student population is so small, teachers are able to focus on helping students with individual problems. Teachers are overall very excellent here regarding how they actually teach and their passion for their profession. Despite the "effort" to keep bullying at bay, prejudice and exclusion is a very common thing. Cliques have been a perpetual issue as well. Like several other reviewers have mentioned, favoritism is also an issue. In conclusion, this school is excellent in terms of academics, but your experience with your fellow classmates may be a bit rough.

i went here for 3 years, i must say that favoritism is rampant. Need i say more, Not a good Middle School experience for me and my parents.i now go to a different school different to finish HS and i love it here.

As a former student (I now go to a private school), I believe Carle Place is not at all a great school. Teachers, especially those who coach a sport, show favoritism towards certain students and make unethical decisions, such as buying other students lacrosse sticks. One thing I do like about the school however is the academic challenge of this school. Other than that sports are not number one in this school, and teachers certainly are bia and do not know how to coach. Also, it is one of the most cliquiest schools I have ever seen; many kids start smoking and drinking by seventh or eighth grade.

Excellent school for educating your children for their future. They rise to their potential easily in a safe and friendly small town atmosphere. My three childern went through the school and have moved on to sucessful lives. Now the grandchildren are ready to do the same in the Carle Place School System.

One of the best small public schools in New York State. An excellent teaching staff and administration and a student body that excells in all state and national tests. a wide range of activities for all students includes outstanding theater performances, an award winning newspaper, championship sports teams and the Relay For Life completly organized by former students!!! Many alumni move back to CP after college and it is not uncommon for some teachers to teach several generations of the same family. A great smell town with an excellent school system.
