Fantastic principal and the BEST priests who care deeply about and work first and foremost towards the spiritual formation of our children that attend. School mass homilies present the gospel in an engaging and memorable way. Tuition is higher than most parochial schools but that is reflected in additional resources such as special education staff, student counselors, large campus, wonderful youth ministry team and lots of extracurriculars. Would love to see less Chromebook use and more recess and year-round outside time or movement breaks offered to all student grade levels, even the older grades (It’s worth mentioning I’d say that for most schools in our current culture of high technology use and high focus on standardized test scores). Would also love to see band/instrument offered to all families at a more accessible price point.
Lots of opportunity to volunteer, get involved and enjoy family fellowship. In summary, this is a Catholic school for your whole family!

Fantastic school! The school has a wonderful principle, excellent priests, and a great community atmosphere. My children have grown emotionally, spiritually, intellectually, and socially since starting at St. Greg’s several years back. Greg’s offers learning support for those who need it. They are constantly holding fun and exciting social events for kids & families. The children who attend here are respectful, kind, and inclusive. Greg’s is the best school in Buffalo in my opinion!

Great leadership and community. Did a wonderful job keeping the school open during COVID. Many activities and events which include parents.

This school does not live by the Catholic standards it is supposed to teach. It allows kids from affluent families to get away with disruptive and destructive behavior. Teachers will not stand up for children because they are too afraid of getting fired.

Great teachers. Terrible leadership. Inexperienced principal who is afraid to talk to parents.

Not much support for kids who need help.

Bullying is always shoved under the rug to not have uncomfortable conversations with parents.

Students are challenged and expected to behave and follow rules of the faculty. The new administration has made a positive change in the school in a short amount of time. It is only going to get better. It truly is a community and a family.

The old admin was amazing and strong. New admin with old assistant is a combo for failure. Little to no communication and there is no discipline in the building. I expect structure, rigor, and discipline at a Catholic school. None of these things are present! Admin has no idea what they are doing.

Posted: June 16, 2018

There is no effective approach to anything. Teachers get criticized for too much and not enough homework. Poor Admin.

Posted: June 16, 2018

Teachers are held back by admin. They get inaccurate criticism from admin that stays in their office all day.

Posted: June 16, 2018

Teachers do an excellent job helping to develop these characteristics. Unfortunately with new admin teachers are limited to what they do in their classroom. Respect is taught by teachers but admin does not back up teachers when students are disrespectful.

Posted: June 16, 2018

School will not progress with current admin. Was new this year and just decided to be Catholic again. Was a former public school admin and decided to take a huge pay cut to be admin here... I think not. Was probably let go for inability to make decisions.

Teachers are properly trained to combat all kids of learning differences.

Posted: June 16, 2018

Admin has no idea how to deal with bullying. Students were bullied all year with little to no consequences from admin. Both principal and assistant principal have no backbone or idea on how to deal with the bully epidemic.

Our kids go there. We have been at other schools. This is most definitely one of the good ones! It really is a CATHOLIC school first and foremost. When I have had concerns, the teachers and principal have been very responsive. They take their jobs seriously and they most definitely care about our students spiritually, academically, socially, and physically. The academics are challenging but children who need more help receive it so they too can excel.

Strong teachers, good kids, poor communication between parents and teachers, excellent principal, strong on religion, math, science, writing, weak on reading; would like to see kids read more classical literature, great extracurricular activities in all areas including art and music (rare for a private school), would like to see more play and outdoor time for kids K-5, and homework is a little excessive for K-5, front desk could use a little warming up, staff not very friendly but things are run very efficiently, great lunch program, wonderful after school staff, overall I give this school 3 1/2 stars out of 5
