St. Benedict’s School has been instrumental in my son's growth, both academically and personally. The dedicated teachers provide a supportive and challenging environment that has encouraged him to excel in his studies. Beyond academics, the school administration and faculty focuses on character development, instilling values like respect, responsibility, and compassion. In the last three years I have seen my son grow into a confident and well-rounded individual. I highly recommend St. Benedict’s to any family seeking a nurturing and enriching educational experience! St. Benedict School has been an incredible experience for our entire family since we joined in 2021. With our three sons attending, we’ve seen firsthand the benefits of its challenging and rewarding academics, paired with an environment led by caring and brilliant teachers who truly invest in their students. The support and involvement from the parent community is unmatched—genuine friendships have been formed, and the sense of camaraderie is something really special.

Our whole family is involved—my husband and I volunteer regularly, and even our parents give their time. One of the most inspiring moments was when parents came together to build the new playground. Despite freezing, downpouring rain, everyone pitched in and made it happen. It was an incredible testament to the heart of this school!

The administration, teachers, and parent network are always willing to help, and that support makes a real difference. St. Ben’s is more than a school—it’s a community, and one we’re proud and grateful to be part of!

My children have attended St. Ben’s from pre-k 3 through the end of elementary school. The education and relationships that the children and parents have made are unparalleled. The school is consistently improving all aspects of their educational standards, technology and facilities to provide an all around excellent education.

We couldn't be happier with our experience at SBS. Our children started in PreK3 and PreK4. Both of our children have flourished here-academically, socially, and emotionally. St Ben’s has provided a nurturing, challenging, and inspiring environment that brings out the best in every student. It’s a place where children thrive!
The teachers are so dedicated and compassionate.

My child is reading at a higher level than other kids his age from other schools. I enjoy the way the teacher communicates with parents about each up and coming weekly schedule. I know exactly what my child is learning and what will be learned. The math curriculum is also great and we were given a workbook to practice at home what is done in the classroom. My child is also excelling in math at this school. Mass every week is also helpful in reminding one to try to connect with God and to love others.

St. Ben’s has been such a wonderful environment for my daughters! My older daughter was at a different private school before switching to St. Ben’s and we were truly amazed at how warm and welcoming the community is. It has been such a positive experience for my family and so nice to see my daughters flourish.

As a parent of three children at St. Benedict’s. I’m thrilled with the nurturing and faith-filled environment. The teachers are dedicated, blending strong academics with Catholic values that shine through in my children’s kindness and discipline. St.Benedict’s has exceeded our expectations, providing a solid foundation for our kids’ future.

Both of my children attended St. Ben's from PK3 to 8th grade. We had a great experience, and both of my kids have lifelong friends that they went off to high school with. Their teachers were amazing throughout their years. My kids are ready for high school thanks to the advanced courses they had the opportunity to take. St. Ben's has a great community that feels like family. I am so happy we chose St. Ben's!

On paper, this school might seem great. Behind closed doors and after you start paying tuition, not so much. For the most part, the staff were welcoming.
Learning:
My child always was well above the standards. My child wasn’t given homework because exceeding standards. I would have preferred kid be provided homework as well to be provided a stable routine. I asked for homework be sent with nothing coming back.
Teachers:
Being a private school, there is lots of turnover in teachers. Luck of the draw, but my kid was always the unlucky one being placed in a new teachers class rather than an experienced teacher at the school. Even if each grade had one new and one old, teacher, my kid always was placed with a new teacher.
Specials:
The school offers a variety of specials, which is a bonus. PE is only offered twice every 7 school days, which seems below recommendations. If you are a male, it’s a warning that music teacher will treat you unfairly. My kid has been targeted and I never got an explanation why such harsh remarks for my well- manored kid. Kid has been punished as well due to music teacher. In a previous school, my kid was never treated this way.
Extracurricular activities:
The school offers sports starting at kindergarten. Lack of clubs was a negative
HSA:
They offer a few items per year. But everything is at a cost to each family at each event also.
Recess:
Kids shouldn’t be punished for petty items. Research shows daily recess increases academic standards for students.
Lunches:
This school has opted to not offer free and reduced lunches ( even for low income families), so be prepared to pay $4.50 per day per student. Even if the district can provide free lunches, this private school is not opting to offer the free/reduced programs. You must preorder a week before and no refunds if kid is sick
Principal:
This review was written in year 2024. Previous principal made this school a happy and welcoming environment. The current principal is awful and does not address concerns presented from concerned parents.

I honestly cannot recommend this school to anyone looking into private schools. The administration are rude. Teachers are removing recess from select students ( males), and concerns are not addressed.

This is the best elementary school in WNY

The teachers give homework every night. It reviews concepts taught during the day, reinforcing learning.

Teachers are highly qualified and trained in STEM. The teachers use technology in every subject. All students participate in rigorous class work. Teachers are very hands on and involved with the students.

The school runs like a top. Discipline and personal values are present.

I went to St. Benedicts and so did my 3 children. We were so happy with their education and preparedness for high school. St. Bens is also a very nurturing, encouraging environment which served our children and us well! We miss it!

I personally would not recommend this school to minority families . My family experienced racism on many levels . We as a family were singled out on several occasions. Several times staff spoke to my children inappropriatly as well as sent messages through them for myself , this continued after asking the staff not to. Once I informed the school that I planned to transfer my children my children's books were taken from them , they were questioned by the staff without contacting myself in regard to when their last day would be . Upon my arrival at dismissal my children were sent out with their nap mats , changes of clothes and art work. This happened only a quarter through the school year and none of the supplies that I had sent in were returned when they were pushed out . The only explanation for this poor behavior and treatment of my children that was extended to me was that it was not meant to be malicious . My children did not deserve to be treated in this manner and this last act of ill will toward them solidified my decision to remove my three children from the school.
