The school lacked leadership. Kids rarely play outside. My child gained weight as a result. I would not recommend this school.

I feel that St. John has been a blessing to my family. Although a tuition is involved, I could not think of a better investment than my children!

The students definitely stand out among others their age. They are taught how to treat others in instruction and by example.

I have never met a more selfless person as the principal of St. John. She will gladly help in everything, whether it is cleaning up after a student or shoveling snow. All her decisions are made prayerfully and with much consideration and love. Each day she is at the door to welcome parents and students with a smile. Her door is always open and she is always available to talk. The light of Christ definitely shines in her. All of qualities make for a great leader of our school!

Any issues that are brought to the attention of the teacher or the principal are definitely addressed with a message of our human nature and grace.

While the academics are wonderful, they do not handle bullying at all. My niece, who had amazing grades, started failing. When my sister told the principal, they did nothing. Didn't even respond to her. They just sent her an email about tuition. Clearly they care more about money than the welfare of their students....especially if the child who is the bully has parents who have a lot of money.

We just moved our children to St.John's this year from a public elementary and we are absolutely amazed at the difference in how it is ran and the quality of the teaching compared to their old school. The teacher's work hard to teach the children academics and Christian values. They also are great role models as they not only teach but live out their faith through their daily lives and volunteer work at the school. The attitude of all of the teachers and administration is "can do" and they work hard to accommodate parent's requests. What I love the most abut this school is the atmosphere. When you walk in you can just feel the Holy Spirit at work at St.John's. Since starting there my children are no longer anxious about overbearing teachers or bullies. The environment is very loving but strict, which is exactly what we were looking for. I also love that they have recess everyday and a half hour lunch period (both of which are missing now from most public schools). Most importantly, when I drop my children off at St. John's every morning, I leave with the peace of mind knowing that they are amongst compassionate Christian leaders who will teach and guide them well while I am away.

The differeniated instruction is excellent. Children, regardless of grade level, are motivated to do their best and challenged to their strengths. Class size is small enough to assure each child has their individual needs met. The principal has a committment to keep the class sizes to under 22, with a promise to higher additional teachers if enrollment for a grade goes above 22. In nearby public districts facing severe budget issues and suggesting classroom sizes in excess of 28 this is a serious plus for St. John. Children get extracurriculars like sports, music, and cheerleading. Fundraising is kept to a minimum and seems like less than the public school my child came from. They have plenty of the latest technology to stay progressive but at the same time they focus on making sure the kids know the bsics through a solid grounded education. Their character development is not a separate program, it is peppered throughout the curriculum and based on biblical teachings, but it is not overemphasized. The tuition is OK for what you get. It could be a little lower for Lutherans without a church school but still a great value.
