Everyone is taught one thing instead of what’s individually on their IEP. IEPs need a lot of help in writing them here.

Below average, sadly you can’t take back time. The amount of just listening to a teacher and answering questions through smart boards doesn’t give back time that could’ve been taught through hands on and group projects. More outdoor activities is much needed and much more social time. Watching movies aren’t social. New teachers need help writing and really understanding IEPs. It’s a school for those who physically need it but I wouldn’t say it’s a special needs school as they understand how to help those who learn differently.

Busy work that shows inconsistencies among the grades

There are a few in early childhood grades other than that the teachers have little experience other than teaching out of a book.

My child has been a Henry Viscardi student for 5 years and I am very happy with his improvement. From teachers to therapists to aids, the school provides my child with the support necessary to learn. In addition, even though school is important, other activities are presented to the students so that they do not only go to school to learn from a curriculum but to practice sports and prepare for what one day will be independent living.

Students are given homework that helps reinforce their work in the classroom.

Many teachers are good, few excellent, and some need to move on. Leadership in the school leaves much to be desired. Academics are good. Therapists and support staff excellent. Kids do not get to leave the school much. The environment is safe and nurturing, but they do not have enough staff to meet the needs of all the children. I would recommend the school.
