I have been going to this school for 8 years now and have not enjoyed it to much. Some reasons for this are the way they choose the class you will be in,there are three classes in each grade starting at 6th the classes are class A B and C the principal of the middle school makes her biased opinion known that she favors the A classes more I know this because I was in the A class up until 7th grade where I am now.The principal says things to the A classes like "I expect the best from you" and other things like "You are the leaders of your grade and I have you at a higher standard than the other classes".Basically telling the A classes that she thinks higher of you than the B or C classes which in my opinion is being bias. Also the way they choose what class a certain person is going to be in like my two friends with disabilities my one friend is in 6th grade and has been in the C class since he came to the middle school, mind you he's very smart and deserves to be in the A classes but since he has a disabilities he's in the C classes. Now my other friend is in 7th grade like me and he is also in the C class even though he is just as smart as a student in the A class but since he has a disabilitie
he's in the C class.Another reason is the fact that a good amount of teachers are racist by saying or doing stuff that is racially profiling such as when a student that is a person of color asks if they can go to the nurses office or the social work room certain teachers will say No but when a white student or a student with lighter skin asks those same teachers will say Yes.Other teachers are sexist towards females a couple examples of this are when a female student asks to go to their locker or to get water and the teachers say Yes but then a male student asks the same thing but gets told No.last reason is that a hand full of teachers act in a way that makes students feel uncomfortable or mad I personally have experienced this for instance the gym teacher is very rude and inconsiderate about students feelings and yells in our face's about the dumbest things and then punishes us for yelling back at him for being rude.

The leadership is poor and without purpose. They mislead on many topics. I am referring to the Buffalo Academy of Science Charter School 2 on 335 Doat Street, Buffao, NY 14211.

The STEM curriculum really helps get the students prepared for the new work field that will exist in the future. You can tell just by walking around the school that the students and staff are family. Homework help is huge in the after school program that is FREE for all students. College trips are being taken often and staff is always there to support families and students.

Being transparent and ready to listen to our students if there is a concern has helped us develop honest, integrity, and fairness in our students.

To support our teachers we assign them a mentor to help develop skills that may need to be sharpened. Sharing best practices is another good way that we support our teachers.

Homework is a large part of our academic expectations. Having battle of the grade and homework competitions is a good way to get our students to do their homework and turn it in.

We have THE best teachers and staff in the city of Buffalo. Our students come into school ready for new academic challenges and meet them daily. Our students ROCK!!!!

My son has enjoyed his time at the school, and it has been very easy to communicate with staff when necessary. There is always a multitude of events going on in the school for both parents and students to be involved in.

I think the school has a lot going on. They really help students when they are struggling and they use every method to contact parents. Like any school, they have challenges, but overall, I think the teachers and administrators at Buffalo Academy of Science work hard to give the students the best shot for the future.

This is an excellent deeply multi-cultural school and my Husband and myself love this school for our Son who is a 9th Grader! He has had no problems with others at this school. The school offers great field trips&community experiences. The learning environment is good&we have only had issues with the way the school handles its tardy system.Other than that I would highly reccomend this school to all other parents for their children.

The only thing wrong about this school is they let anyone in. There are a lot of people who start drama. That's the people they should not let in. Academic wise the school is great and the teachers care and help us out as much as possible.
