We have two kids at Malta Montessori and we absolutely love it. Both the Toddler Room and Children's House have been great experiences for our children. The teachers are topnotch and truly care about the kids both in their academic journey as well as their whole selves. The school truly feels like a community and we are so grateful we found it.

Children’s house leaves a lot to be desired. The teachers do not have empathy for their young children, who they are trusted to care for. There is no such thing as care for the whole child here.

We love Malta Montessori. I have one child in the toddler class and one in children's house. I am so amazed in the transformation my children have made this year. The teachers are effective, nurturing, and promote the love of learning. The teachers cater to your child's needs and will work to develop a plan to help your child. For example, my son struggled with writing. I discussed my concerns with his teacher and she developed a plan to help. My son went from tears and no interest writing to holding pencils and crayons the correct way and asking to practice at home in a month. Both of my children have become more independent, better at solving problems and developed a love for learning. They are eager to help each other. In addition, the school administrators and teachers have worked very hard to keep the children safe and in school during Covid without inhibiting their experience. They have done an amazing job managing the additional hurdles Covid created. Malta Montessori, not only is a school but it is a supportive community. Malta Montessori is amazing. I cannot imagine sending my Children any where else.

MMS was unfortunately a huge disappointment in the name of Montessori… I had no choice but to keep my twins there till they turned 5 since it was the only Montessori near us.
Here is why you need to stay far away from Malta Montessori School:

(1) Attrition: Multiple staffing issues. First of all not all assistants are AMS certified. The head teacher for my son’s class changed just over the first year… the assistant teacher was having a hard time controlling the class. Other than 3-4 teachers, most of the teaching staff keeps changing.

(2) Facility: Before you decide to sign-up, compare this school to some of the other institutes like Cornerstone in New Hampshire. You will be SHOCKED to know that Malta Montessori is run as a struggling small business; whereas other AMS accredited schools like Cornerstone are truly a learning institute centered around the Montessori philosophy & principles.

(3) For kids 5+ old : NOT very different from a public school. More than 50% of the school practices & routines are same as any public facility. So you need to ask yourself what are you paying for if you intend to sign-up 5+ yr old to this private school vs public school? Montessori style teaching is VERY limited at this facility compared to other Montessori schools. It’s basically Montessori materials and 2-3 AMS certified head teachers put together in a building.
Compared to other Montessori schools, this school fails to create a positive environment required for children’s social development and does not focus on YOUR child’s educational needs.

(4) For kids 4 yr and under: This school follows school calendar for all ages. So all working parents, be prepared to spend a LOT more on sitter expenses for all the holidays observed by this school. Imagine 3-year old twins at home while trying to work. All other pre-schools around us do NOT follow a school calendar for the simple reason that kids younger than 5 cannot possibly mind themselves for hours while parents and caregivers try to work.

We have seen tremendous growth in the compassion of our children who have attended this school

The school enables kids of all ages to help others and be leaders

The teachers really customize their approach to the individual student

Our experience with Malta Montessori could not be better. The teachers and administrators have been great every step of the way. Their attention to detail and warmth with the children have really made our experience. We as a family are so happy we have found this school.

Homework is not part of the curriculum for the preschoolers

We've had two daughters go to Malta Montessori and have had both Meg & Megan. Both teachers have been incredible influences on our daughters.

I find that the communication within the teachers and with the parents is missing.

Kids in this so called school are allowed to be rude with no consequences.

Posted: August 9, 2018

The discipline is missing in this school. When a kid acts up they labeled them but they don’t develop a strategy or plan to improve the situation and help the child.

The experience was horrible. I never thought that I would be writing a bad review for anyone. It has been overdue. I am certain that there are many more families out there that have had poor experiences with this school but don’t want to write about it.

Homework is not a modality of this school

The teachers are not emotionally and not academically equipped for the amount of children they have in charge for the pre-school/ kindergarten class.
