Raised in a private school I was hesitant to send my son but due to his special needs it what was best for him as the private school told me they could not give him the help he needed. It was the best decision we made! The rising stars programs is absolutely amazing!!! The teachers are great he gets everything he needs and has gone from a very shy, timid, non verbal child to a star! I don't know where we would be without them. I am now sending my 4yr old and he is loving it! His teacher is amazing.

The school has specialized classes for special needs kids but the staff seems so I competent. They have no clue how to approach these kinds of kids or how to deal with them or what to do with them. On top of that there is no recess for ANY or these kids and they expect gym twice a week to be sufficient for these students. It's a joke. It seems as though they enjoy the benefits of having these specialized classes and students(the funding they get) but they could care less about the actual students.

No recess. No playground. (It was formerly a middle school- shouldn't adding a play area have been one of the first things done when deciding to convert it into an elementary school?) Awful school counselor (very brash and not kind to the children). We wish that we had been more careful when choosing a home in this district. There are however, some very lovely teachers and staff members.

Very disappointed in the way this school is ran. My son was enrolled for 2 months before I pulled him out. He has special needs and this school does very little to meet them. No structure, or organization. The teachers are overwhelmed with common core curriculum that they don't pay attention to the students' needs. Hopefully you never have trouble with a bully because the school does nothing about that either. The principal says he will "take care of" the situation but does absolutely nothing and continues to allow students to be bullied, while he looks the other way. My son was in 3 different physical altercations and nothing was done. No discipline for the bully besides a write up. One oven threatened to kill him, and still, nothing was done. If you value your child's safety and education, don't send them to Cataract Elementary School.

Cataract Elementary is family and friends. The staff is very helpful and understanding. The parking for some parents who drive their children is limited.
