My kids all went to elida. The high school was probably the better one out of the 3. They do no care about bullying. There is no support for the kid being bullied other than "go see a counselor " nothing ever happens to the bullies. Kids with special educations a by far at the bottom of the list, the cheerleaders and football players are the only ones that get help or celebrated. Most of the teachers are great. Others are a nightmare. My kids hated the school lunches and would come home and tell me the nastiest stories about their school lunches and what they found in their food.
Growing up around here, but going to a different high school than elida you always hear the "bad stories" and how terrible Elida was. I never thought it was true... until my kids had to go there because we lived in district. There's like almost zero communication with elida and parents. So much stuff happens that my kids come home and tell me (such as my kid being pulled into the principal office to be searched bc they thought he was selling vapes... found out he doesn't. My kids doesn't even smoke. I never received a phone call. Email. Nothing telling me that they patted my kids down then searched his locker bookbag and car.
Summed up... don't send your kids to elida! You WILL regret it.

Great Teachers ... Great administrators...Great kids for most part. Kids are gender confused. Some call themselves "Furrys" aka they think they're cats.
I'm told this year SROs are at a bare minimum between 3 schools 1 full time and one part time. Actually, they are not SROs but security guards.
Unsure how school board will address these issues, but if they don't commit to a fix, things will spin out of control. They must in my opinion commit to gender specific bathrooms (by birth gender).
It truly is a great school with amazing teachers, just let them teach because 95 % of the kids there, are there for the right reasons. The other 5 % create the in classroom and out of classroom problems that affect the 95 % and the teachers in a negative way.
I pray for them all because prayer is needed for them to continue to exist as a great educational institution.

Elida was a decent school my freshman year. Quickly the quality went downhill. The administrative staff and some of the teachers seemed to be unqualified and greedy. (There definitely are good teachers that make the experience bearable). In recent years the school has had staff that has discriminated against students and overall couldnt care less about their well-being. Funding cuts were obvious when the food became inedible, the classrooms were freezing and we had to use broken chairs and desks. If you were a student it is clear that the administration doesnt care about students wellbeing and cares more about funding

The following was found in the Board's contract. Why do the residents of the Village have to pay for the school employee's Village Income Tax? 6.04 Elida Local School will reimburse Elida High School employees who do not live in the Village of Elida, and were employed at Elida High School prior to January 1, 2010, the sum of $250 per year to compensate for the .75% Elida Village Income Tax. This reimbursement will begin with the 2011-2012 school year. In the event that the Elida Local School District initiates the annexation of the Elida Elementary School or the Elida Middle School, and the annexation goes into effect, the same $250 reimbursement will apply to those employees. This was from the 2012 contract. School employees get reimbursed for the Village income tax they have to pay. If they live in the district, they can vote for school levy.
