Absolutely HORRIBLE!!! Never again!!! The year before last my daughter attended here and it was great! They really worked on making her feel like she belonged and she really strived!! However this year was the worst!! My daughter has As and Bs and even exempt on 2 of her final exams however she has a 48% in English!!! She received no points out of 15 because the teacher Rachel Fosnaugh said she didnt spend enough time on the task. It was the first assignment of the new class and it was a test to see what they knew. Seeing as how my daughter hasnt attended the class yet and was yet to be taught the material, of course its not going to take a while to guess a multiple choice test!!! Then I helped my daughter with a project worth 40 points..mind you I have completed 2 college English courses and she received a 14/40!!! I made the mistake of mentioning how my daughter needed to pass her class to get into a medical tech school for high school students and since then she hasnt been able to get anywhere!!! I reached out multiple times to this teacher without response. Only when I cced the student advisor then did she answer. Now lets move on to Colleen Dill Colleen Dill is my daughters student advisor. This advisor is hung up on how many live classes my daughter has been in. I told her that those are incorrect because I see her in class daily!! I had also mentioned how my daughter uses other computers other than the chrome book provided so she can have multiple screens while working in class. She doesnt want to hear any of it. She is stuck on her numbers and what her technology tells her! This has been the worst experience ever!!! I refuse to put my daughter or any of my children in this school ever again!!!

This school absolutely horrible. issues with Live Classes (Class Connect) being inconsistent with no warning. Assignments randomly popping up from the day before and marked as missing. Horrible support for students who are struggling academically. Absolutely would not recommend this school!!

wouldnt let me graduate on time even though i had all my credits and passing grades so my diploma says i graduated an entire year too late after all the hard work i put into wanting to graduate on time this school sucks dont enroll your kid here unless you want it to end up brain dead

This school is a joke! when I needed my daughter to help care for me while I am going through cancer they forced her to have to drop out, with only 9 weeks to go to graduate, they have no heart for everything she has been going through not one of them had her back, not only that they had her taking to many courses she did not even need. and when we get her transcript it is totally a one sided look which makes her look like a bad student and in reality she was a student having to deal with the fact her mom has leukemia and needed her.

If I could go back and choose to never send my son to this school I would. To start, enrollment was a nightmare, it took over a month for them to accept all of my son's documentation. My son has special needs and requires an IEP for each school year. This school took over 2 months to do testing on him to then wait another month to have an IEP meeting. An hour into that said meeting, I was told they had to go as they had another meeting and we could resume at a later time. This means my son has been without an iep or special education services from August to December. Which is not only unacceptable but also illegal in the state of Ohio. I have unenrolled him and we will be going back to homeschooling as he was much happier, not as stressed, and going to receive services from us. Please do not send your child here if they have any special needs, they deserve better than this school will provide.

My Child attended this school for fourth grade. The only subjects taught with a teacher are Math and English. All other subject areas and topics are gleaned through other apps and websites etc., which ALWAYS break or are no tin order, or are just plain incorrect in their content. OHVA teachers continually re iterate that they DO NOT SELECT the sites, but the main OHVA does. I think this is a disconnect massively. Besides this, the sites break, go glitchy, etc etc leaving the teachers scrambling and the kids so confused. Not to mentilon some teachers, should be al maintain a consistent timeline.

This school is horrible. My child was kicked out for truancy. In the beginning of the year, I lost internet and asked the school for a wifi box. The internet was off for about a week and I got it turned back on. I had a meeting with the truancy intervention lady, and I couldn't even talk to her. My microphone was muted. I later emailed her and explained the situation. She went ahead and sent the wifi box which arrived 3 weeks after I got my internet restored. My child attended class everyday after the internet was reconnected, and they kept sending out emails threatening to remove her. I responded to all the emails with screen shots of her attendance. They still kicked her out and I have not received one phone call, or email response from them regarding this. I will be contacting an attorney.

We have been with this school for 4 years. I guess I can now say my son may be gifted because he will be in an accelerated classes this coming year. Basically, each lesson is about 45 minutes long; it could be longer. Your child may have 4 or more classes each day. The state requirement is at least 5 hours a day to end up with 920 hours. So, if your child has 4 classes and they take 45 minutes for each class, your child will have time to do "homework" if they is any, or asking questions. You can go outside and play. You can do science experiments which could be called making dinner. And one more thing, what if your child misses class - they record them. What if your child is sick, they can watch the recording. What if you have to go a few states away, the school is an online school so your child can go to class as usual or watch the recording. Ohio is a "testing" state which means your child will be tested each year in at least Math and ELA, (the English part.) My son has taking a lot of quizzes but I know my son has learned something because of he's test scores. The parent has a part to do too; making sure your child goes to class, does their work, take them to state testing. If you the parent can't put forth the effort to coach your child to learn, then this is not the school for you. Yes, you might be sitting next to your 6 year old while they learn Math and ELA, but you know they are learning. They may be learning History and you can tell them about what you know.

I have two children using the school. Its been a year and even though the first couple weeks was rough until the children and I learned how to use it, its been great afterwards ! My one child is gifted and the program is challenging to her still. The teachers are nice and we love all the field trips . We dont get behind and my Alexa devices are great for reminding us our class connects and clubs . We take breaks throughout the day walking the dog or taking a stroll to the library in between class connects and OLS planned assignments. Because the kids are home they get healthy warm meals and snacks all throughout the day. There is glitches sometimes where sometimes something pops up Overdue but if you let it sit for awhile the glitch corrects itself . As the learning coach I have to put each kid in a separate room and keep the kid close that may drift off in Lala land . The education they are learning is amazing, my fourth grader is learning about investing and banks and my third grader is learning weights and measures . Both kids seem so advanced and happier they do not like brick and mortar schools . They can be in peace with out bullies and someone hurting them. The teacher favoritism is vague if it even exists because the child isnt able to see favoritism it makes them feel like they are here to just learn and not compete for teacher favors , competitive favoritism environment is toxic and makes kids do bad things to each other to gain teacher favors leading to bullying. Hands down the experience is far healthier for my children at OHVA . Thanks so much for all the teachers and principals and staff that make this possible for families who are fed up with brick and mortar schools !

I'm not sure if the private school is any better, but the public side is lame. They've reduced it down to 6 hours a day, but it hasn't helped. I'm constantly behind, and it's very stressful. Daughter has started having issues with low self esteem. Even though they have social groups, I've met personally one time this year. If they have an event in person, they want you to drive for hours across the state to get to it. History class has a lot of propaganda. Teaching what to think instead of how to think. All classes are pushed very fast, student doesn't have a chance to work with a subject for enough time to retain it. They push daily quizzes/ testing on usa test prep, and it's also full of propaganda and imbedded cues for the subconscious mind, not things you want in your child's mind either. Science class is prematurely forcing me to have the birds and bees chat. Oh, the kicker... their "talent show" this year was not a talent show, it was a cheap ploy to get the kids to make a commercial for them. Their act had to be about how great ohva is. You'll spend your breaks trying to catch up, then lock you out of the system if you try to use summer to fill the educational gaps. The only good thing I can say is they do have a latin class, and they send materials in the mail. If you have a problem with a computer and send it back, they send one without enough memory to operate, back. Tell you not to eat in front of the computers.. but do I have time to eat at the table? No, I'm in front of this computer constantly trying to get caught up. The printers they send are junk, they don't work for very long. I've joined a group on fb called ohio homeschooling for beginners, it's teaching me how to petition the state to make my own curriculum, set up testing, ect. it's a great group, and I would suggest going that route instead of trying Ohva.

The entire experience was awful. They expect you to do 7hrs everyday for work yet don't even supply you with 7 hours worth of work. Every teacher has 50-100 students per class making the teaching less individualized to your students needs and makes it hard to get questions answered. A lot of the teachers don't even answer their emails. The school website is constantly under maintenance and just not working. More than half the teachers don't know how the application they use to teach on works. Every now and then they give you a load of work to do and not a lot of time to do it, leading to a lot of stress for every student. Every year they send an email which is a total lie, it says they want to hear your opinion on the school and value your opinion, but when you take it, it's really just a mental health quiz. I will not be going back to this school and I recommend you never send your student here.

it has been such a blessing, my child is chronically ill, and has limitations, this school is just wonderful, she has blossomed here and her grades have been A's in every subject thanks to these teachers who really put their all in.

We are so happy we found OHVA. I have 3 of my 4 children enrolled (4th is in college) and I wish we would have found them sooner. We started at a different online school and OHVA is heads and tails above our previous school. All of our teachers have been fantastic and my son'steacher helped my struggling reader make so much progress that it has brought me to tears. All of my children have different strengths and learn differently and OHVA lets them do so. Plus, we were able to take a Disney Cruise in the off season and save a ton of money due to the flexibility.

My student was never put into mainstream school because of ADHD, a speech impediment and being on the spectrum and the school provides us with a speech therapist and an occupational therapist and it is helping my student thrive.

We have been working with K12 OHVA since our daughter started Kindergarten and she's starting 6th grade now, we've had a wonderful experience with our teachers and lesson plans. A few minor hiccups but things were dealt with in a timely manner. Plan on continuing her education like this, using homeschool options through K12 OHVA!

Yes they do. They limit the contact within the classroom so that does not happen. Also, there is no exchange of any personal information for privacy. There is moderators in each classroom during class to control when chat is open so the teacher can teach. Plus it all is recorded and can be reviewed and OHVA has a no bullying policy it's not tolerated.

Yes I believe OHVA develops character in its students by witnessing most of my child's Class Connects (virtual class's). The way the teachers, intervention specialists, counselors, etc. have to control the students virtually to a classroom setting rules and guidelines.

OHVA provides plenty of useful resources including the students learning coach, students learning guides or references, teachers, intervention specialist, etc. etc.
The students are never alone there is always some one there to help along the way.

Teachers are always in connection with the students. Teachers and students communicate through email, daily in the virtual classroom and if extra help is needed for the student the teacher sets aside daily times for students to come in virtually with questions. Teachers are also available by phone for students and learning coaches daily. They are the most accommodating.

Our experience with OHVA has been the best! I wouldn't have thought changing schools would have been such a change or that my child had missed so much education (being behind). With having a physical handicap she is more comfortable in her own home. If she needs to adjust her schedule she can. She has grew so much more independence as well as knowledgeable. She needed the challenge and I'm glad we made the change!!

When my son went to a city school, they were pushing me on how he wasn't reading and writing. I was always asking how i could help him and if they had any extra classes, remedial reading, etc, they didn't. They kept pushing papers at me to work with. I gave up asking for help with this school. When i put my son back to OVA, within the first year my son is almost pro with reading. He is sloppy with his writing but he can spell so much better. The teachers are amazing at individualizing each children and seeing strengths and weaknesses and working with the students and parents at what works for that student.

This school has given my children such joy. My oldest son has asbergers syndrome and this was a god send to our family. They have challenging and enriching courses. The teachers are amazing.Everyone cares so much for the students and families.

WE have enjoyed the OVA. We like the class connect, online classes for English, Math and Social Studies.
The SCience and History my 4th grader was not getting at traditional school. It is very independent I the parent am the learning coach!! THis needs to be understood before you start. This is for people who would like to homeschool with a set structure of material. Study Island is great and used in traditional schools as well.
As anything in life it works if you work it!!

My daughter was having issues at her brick & mortar school, so I withdrew her and started OHVA in February. Bad decision. While her teacher(s) mean well, I have been very disappointed in that their website for conducting and turning in lessons is awkward and she has had nothing but trouble navigating. (State) Testing has been a huge issue; there are only thee days of testing, yet classes get suspended for two whole weeks? Twice! She's lost four weeks of instruction! We were provided with all kinds of wonderful materials (books, art supplies, stuff for science labs--including a microscope!)...it was like Christmas morning when it arrived! However, in three months she has used only a vocabulary book. Anything beyond English, math and science has been completely left up to me. She doesn't even have teachers for other subjects. I enrolled her in Spanish, as she already had a semester under her belt, only to be told that I should look into the local library or a tutor for foreign language lessons. I have met other parents of OHVA students who seem very satisfied, but switching in the middle of the school year has been a nightmare for my family.

We have been with OHVA for many years and have loved it. My children have thrived and have always gotten the support they need. I have found the best thing to do is constantly be in communication with the teachers. If a teacher is not working for you and your student ask the principal and your counselor for a different teacher and they will reassign you. The curriculum is better then most schools I have seen.

I have been trying for weeks to enroll my son. This school is impossible to get ahold of anyone other than the phone representative who can only read to me what I can see on my own screen or transfer me to another representative who also cannot do anything but transfer me. I have a notice that I need to talk to someone but no contact information is provided and no attempts to contact me have been made. The phone trees are maddening (often I get routed back to where I started in the first place) and wait time on the phone is about 22mins each time. No one responded to any emails. This clearly is a not a well organized company. I have trying for weeks to enroll my son. K12s classes started today and I sit here in the dark not knowing what is going on. Currently the number I am at is ringing without a machine, no hold request. Exceptionally hard to reach anyone.

My daughter attended K12 for the school year 2013-2014. We did not re-enroll due to moving out of state. The school year went ok, but I didn't understand why we never got any progress/report cards. Her teacher said we would get one at the end of the year. A progress report was sent to my K12 email, but I didn't immediately print it. So they cancelled my email account. Now I have nothing to prove she went to school there last year. We never received anything regular mail and never got OAA test scores. Now I am trying to enroll my daughter in her new school and K12 Administrators will not return my phone calls and have not sent any documentation to show my daughter did attend last year. I have left many phone messages and send a fax request for her records...no response. I have been working on this the whole month of July...now I can't enroll my daughter because I don't have any proof of her attending 5th grade last year. I am very frustrated to say the least.. so if you are with K12 now, I hope if you leave someday that you can get your records because I cannot get my daughters. This is the worst school!

OHVA is not bad if a student is self-motivated and already a good student. However, teachers are pressured to pass students under most circumstances. They spend a lot of time going over the same simple concepts over and over because many of their students are drop-outs from traditional schools. This drags the higher-performing students down; a recipe guaranteed to produce mediocrity, at best. Student who have aspirations of attending prestigious universities would be wise to look elsewhere. Students who need a diploma, and don't have the time or inclination to work hard--this could be a good place for them.

I have 3 children, 1 in 4th grade, 1 in 7th, and 1 in 11th at OHVA. My 11th grader has been here since the beginning of 8th grade. I am home to help with the learning of the lessons. Over these 4 years at OHVA I have to say that we are very pleased. All of the teachers and administrators have been nice and helpful. The curriculum is great. I do wish there were books for all high school classes, as some like Science are e-books, but we have been happy to work from home and when we want. One of my children has a 504 and they have been accommodating. All 3 of my children enjoy it and so do I. I do think, however, that if the parent isn't actively involved that the child can get behind, but that is not the case for us. Your child does not have to attend all of the class connects with the teachers if they are doing well and keeping up with their work. I teach them the lessons and if we have a question or want to go to the test review class with the teacher than we can always watch the recording. We love it!

ohva in the beginning was a great school ..offered what i was looking for my child..but starting going down hill .with all the new rules and regs..and one of the draw backs i feel with ohva .and why i feel it is not working is that ohva is more geared for younger students .there is little social contact and the f2s are not really planed for older age students ..and i believe unless they start working on some of these issues there will be a higher percentage of children leaving

I have gone to OHVA for 5 years. In the beginning, things were going pretty well. As others have said though, it is totally different now. The teachers are rude and have hung up on my mother many times. I am sick of the lackluster teaching and how long it takes to get any help or a reply. My grades are slipping and there is very low student participation. I was once in high honors and now I am without the help I need. They won't respond to our emails about acquiring a tutor. The offices are a complete mess and I still haven't received my report card after months of waiting, plus they can't find my records. Thanks K12 & OHVA, for making my school experience miserable.

We are new to OHVA at only a month. In that time our son has gone from not doing his work at all to his lowest grade being an 85. His looks forward to every school day. The staff has been very helpful.

I have been with this school for over four years and I agree what I saw another parent write. Something has definitely changed with this school. I enrolled my H.S. student and they never gave her a schedule and without any notice whatsoever she was withdrawn and got lables requesting to send the materials back. I now I am having another teacher threatening me with truancy about my younger student who started school late and is almost complete with all his assignments except three and he has over 550 hours as far as attendance goes and he should only have 510 before the end of January and he is far above that. It is awful and when we leave this time we will not be returning. Warning to any parent thinking that you will be allowed the flexibility you need to homeschool your child at your own pace it is no longer like that so sad but true. Truly has gone down hill.

I started my daughter in Kindergarten this year. I was originally intending to do straight up homeschooling, but as I am not a teacher I was nervous about picking out books and worksheets on my own. So I picked this as a middle ground. I like the fact that they supply all the books. I did not like how my daughter was never assessed at the beginning of the school year in order to find how to place her. I asked the teacher about it, because she was too far above the lessons on her plan. The teacher told me to just make her take the assessments, but then it was daily test after test to the point that my daughter was crying and refusing to go any farther. After her first Aimsweb I talked to her teacher who did do an actual assessment on her, and she got moved up into their 1st grade coursework. Now, my daughter has more initiative. I am glad they did that, but it took almost two months into the program. I also feel that they advertise for this "work at your own pace", but it set up as a Mon-Fri thing. It pops up attendance notifications if you decide not to do lessons on a weekday, even if you catch up on Saturday. Plus there is a lot of repetition...way too much repetition.

My husband and I enrolled our son in the 8th grade. He is now in the 11th grade. Best thing we could have done. He was in a Catholic school, but was very unmotivated. He felt left out of all of the circles and cliques and was really struggling. Once enrolled in OHVA he turned around. His grade point is now 3.8 and he ENJOYS learning and studying. He said he doesn't have to worry about what other students are doing and/or saying and appreciates the fact that he does not have to deal with "all the crap" as he puts it, in high school. I highly recommend this school. They have made the transition from regular school to online school easy and it is the best decision that we have done for our son's education.

Positive turn around for a struggling student! In October of 2012 our son was being suspended for a second time from the local school district. As I was walking him in one of the final mornings I heard a group of girls say, "I thought we had gotten rid of him." My son had not heard these comments as he was ahead of them. Over the rest of the school year with OHVA, I watched my son bloom with confidence and ability. He had to work and I had to push but together I found a stronger, happier and better rounded student and son. OHVA was helpful, but parents must be on board with education. Wife and I both have teaching certificates. OHVA is not an answer for everyone but is beneficial for those suffering with peer issues. Our son ended the school year with academic honors for his hard work, finishing the years work in 3 -nine week sessions.

This school has been a wonderful choice for my daughter. She is a straight A student and she enjoys working independently. She has enrolled in many honors classes, and they have encouraged her to take post-secondary classes her junior and senior year in high school. My daughter is looking forward to her next two years of school with OHVA.

OHVA is an absolute joke. The teachers and advisors dont care and really do not know what is going on with you. Just to get awnsers you must chase down your teacher or advisor and then send them 20 kmails asking the same question until they finally tell you what you need to know or you get fed up with the constant circle of babble. This school is great for someone who plans to drop out because you dont need to learn anything!! They will jast graduate you for breathing!! They would pass along my dog in this school because they do not care. I would not recomend this program to any one. So far this year do you want to know what I learned? I learned how to cheat and not to ask my teachers or anyone for help.

This post applies to those searching Eschools for your child with special needs or struggles. Before enrolling, take a look at the state's database on complaints. While my 4 children had attended, it was great for general education on a 3 star rating but for my special needs child, who is very high functioning, it was an utterly nightmare. You are told they can serve your special needs child but it is evident that they have not been successful by any means in their 10 year history. Beware of, "yes, we can serve your child" because it is law that they can't deny enrollment to any child. Do your homework. There are massive amounts of articles written by attorneys and investigators the like on their failure, money driven, FOR PROFIT, school.

I LOVE this school! We get to work at our own pace, take time where needed, and even split up the grade levels. (My son is in mostly 4th grade and 2 of the third grade classes) - which play to his strengths and areas that need more improvements. The class connects are wonderful, they provide EVERYTHING you could think of, and if we need time off or want to work over the summer, we can. We love this school and highly recommend it. (Also, they offer many field trips and opportunities for the kids to mingle.) PS - My son's teachers have gone above and beyond for him in many areas - and make him feel like he's really part of a class.

OHVA is the best virtual school I have used for my kids so far. The teachers are very involved with the students and they provide numerous class connects for each subject. I also receive constant Kmails from them with updates on the childrens progress.

Last year was our first year with OHVA. My son attending traditional school from preschool to midyear 3rd grade. His teachers were having difficultly with his lack of attention and completing his work in class. He no longer enjoyed school and I began to consider alternatives. I decided to make the leap to eschool in January of his 3rd grade. The curriculum OHVA uses with K12 is so empowering for children. My son went from feeling "dumb" (his words) to now feeling very good about his education. He is not only grasping math but is learning Spanish, History, Art History and Science at a depth traditional school can not reach at this grade level. They also have the courses set up to relate to the same subject matter throughout History, Art, Science and Language Arts so the learning process flows from one subject to the next. As his learning coach I have a flexible plan to guide his coursework and monitor his success. I was very concerned that I might be making a big mistake but it was, without doubt, one of the best decisions I've made as a parent. We have all our materials for 4th grade and he is already asking me when we can start.

OHVA has been a fantastic school for our family. Our 11 year old daughter and 7 year old son have both been in since kindergarten. We have a two year old who will be enrolling when she's old enough for school. We've had nothing but great experiences with the teachers. They are there for as much or as little help as you need. They are simply an email or phone call away. The curriculum is amazing. It is challenging, engaging, and well organized. Using the combination of books and online work it keeps the kids from getting bored. We love the flexibility of the school, allowing our kids to work at their own pace in all their subjects. When they need more time on an assignment, we can take it. If we have family emergency, we can take care of what needs done and still get school work done. We're able to take a vacation when it fits our schedule and the kids still can keep up on their school work and not have to worry about missing school. We have regular group activities with school friends, like bowling, field trips to museums, anything we feel that would enrich our kids' educations. We wouldn't do anything else.

We have been with OHVA for 4 yrs and it has been WONDERFUL! The teachers are awesome and my kids LOVE school now! They do their work and classes and don't have tons of homework in the evening. We also get to see their grades and progress right away and don't have to wait for a teachers conference. Our son with Asperger's is doing fantastic and is finally enjoying school. Our daughter that is "gifted" feels challenged and enjoys learning with the K12 program. They have many school outings and activities for the children to participate in and meet other OHVA families. The online classes are fun and interactive. If my children have any problems, it is very easy for them to contact their teachers for help or additional one on one classes. The kids are testing very high on the state tests without all the stress. They can go the bathroom, eat, etc whenever they want to without waiting for a convienient time for a teacher. They can have a peanut butter sandwich and do math problems all at the same time or do it outdoors when the weather is nice. We love OHVA and it has been a huge blessing to our family.

Being a fifth year parent with OHVA I am very pleased with the school. The staff is helpful, caring and always willing to answer any questions we have. I have two boys that are working with intervention specialists and the school has placed us with a wonderful speech teacher and a wonderful occupational therapist. I don't know why we waited so long to come to OHVA. There are always ways to connect with other parents and students. With my oldest son being bullied in the brick and mortar schools. He was getting depressed and not wanting to go, with this school he is doing better and able to connect with other kids his age. My oldest daughter graduated this past June and was so happy to hear that she didn't have to retake the O.G.T's because she passed them with flying colors the first time in the 10th grade. Our experience with OHVA has been positive since her first year (we have been with OHVA for 3 years). My daughter is 15 and will start her junior year in a few weeks. After 3 years with OHVA my husband and I thought it would be good for her to switch back to a traditional school, only because of the student interaction that she currently lacks, but she strongly refuses to even consider the idea. On the other hand, I had to consider the fact that: her report card shows straight A s (except for one B+), she has been taking English & History at a higher level (11th grade History & English in 10th grade); she rated advanced in all areas of the Ohio Graduation Test; and that she will be taking Advance Placement and Honor classes this coming year. So after considering how well she s doing and how much she likes OHVA, I won t bother her with a traditional school that doesn t even offer honor classes. Instead, we ll work on finding more activities that will allow her to meet other like-minded teenagers. I must say that OHVA is not for everyone, but it s the right school for my daughter. OHVA HS believes that students should have an easy time at math. Therefore, they routinely issue the same subject materials for outgoing 8th grade students and incoming 9th grade students. It doesn't happen for every course, but if it happens for just one, it is too many. Exposing children to typical learning materials for their grade level isn't something that OHVA gets, so if you're considering enrolling your child, be sure to ask questions about placement before you end up with a big surprise. Not all courses have physical textbooks, so beware. If you don't need them, great, but if you travel withouth computer access or if your child needs to hold what she or she is reading, you may find yourself disappointed in science, for instance. Some veteran parents who have used the program for a number of years will staunchly defend OHVA's less-then-desirable practices. Take their advice with a grain of salt as many have no clue what how a high school curriculum should progress simply, because they've never experienced or researched anything else. You may find that OHVA is OK for K-6, but not beyond. Do your research and don't be pulled in by the hard sell and advertisements.

I've attended many high schools trying to progress in my life, and this has to be the absolute worst of them all. They do not care about their students. They will not help you in anyway other then playing phone tag with you. I would not recommend this school to anyone. I spoke directly to the principle to have him sign one piece of paper allowing me to withdraw from the school and obtain My Ohio GED, And he treated me as nicely as possible when he was on the phone with me. Then would not hold up to his word whatsoever. No one in the administration would help. They have no problem not helping specific students. In the end , the only way I was able to withdraw was refusing to log on daily. And now, Trying to contact their records department , no one returns phone calls. even after days of leaving voice-mails. If you are even considering this school Don't.

I absolutely adore OHVA. The support getting everything set up was perfect, the teachers we've worked with were sublime, and the curriculum goes above and beyond to be relevant and engaging for even the younger students. At every turn, I have felt support and direction, 24 hours a day. I was worried about the social interaction my daughters would be missing by not being in a brick and mortar school, but my fears were quickly laid to rest the first time I looked at the School Calendar. With scores of fabulous outings to choose from, we found ourselves out and interacting nearly every single week, and we've made some great friends as well. This learning experience has truly been a blessing for me, and a huge blessing for my daughters who now love learning once again. I am so thankful we chose OHVA and look forward to many more years working with them. This program is fantastic.
