They have taken over 2 months to even begin to initiate an iep for my grandson and did not do so until I called the State Deoartment of Education and filed a complaint.

They do not uphold a no bullying policy as the superintendent has personally verbally bullied me and the pre-K teacher bullies my 4 yr old grandson.

It has been one of the biggest dissapoinments ever. I lived here and went to this school for a short time as a child back in the '70s. My Mother taught at this school at that time. Under this new leadership and the current teachers it is a very poorly ran school. The lower elementary teachers are sub par and create a very negative atmosphere for learning.

I have overheard teachers of children 2nd grade and under making sarcastic remarks to and about the children as they are in the hallway and classroom. I was waiting in the office this week and heard the kindergarten teacher tell a little student "you know what my new saying this week is? Too bad so sad" and turned around and led the kids to her classroom. I was appalled. The pre-K teacher tells my grandson daily that he is a "bad boy" and makes him sit at a separate table and watch the other children paint while he is not allowed to. This has happened at least twice that I know of. He has ADHD and they have failed to create an iep for him for two months. Instead she denies him the right to an equal education because she refuses to educate herself on how to help him. The second grade teacher can be heard yelling at her class from the hallway. And the first grade teacher made my 6 yr old granddaughter do jumping Jack's in the pickup line because he was touching a locker. She follows up her reasons with "I am a strict teacher." She didn't even know what strict was. These are all unbelievable but entirely true facts about this school. Very poor performing teachers on the lower end. The teachers from 3rd and up are good.

Because the teachers and leadership do not display those qualities.

The superintendent is severely lacking in interpersonal skills in relating to the students as well as the parents. But instead resorts to controling and threatening tactics.

In the short time my child has attended this school, she has expressed to me that she really enjoys the challenging curriculum and the friendliness of the other students. The staff is very tight knit and as such, personal accountability and ethical treatment of children as individuals is questionable.

My children enjoy most of their teacher's demeanors and find that the work is comparable with their former honors coursework. They make the most of the small classes by developing personal rapport.

Posted: September 18, 2015

My child rarely comes home with homework because time is provided to complete it in class if she finishes her daily classwork early, which is often.

I feel students shouldn't be held to higher expectations than staff. If a problem arises, the preference is for preservation of teacher image rather than best interests of individual children or parents. Students and parents should feel safe to report issues without feeling there will be repercussions and reproach.

The school district is small and provides individual attention. It has great parent support. Most teachers treat students with respect and work to ensure students reach their highest potential. However; some teachers utilize old school methods and are demeaning of students by having students write demeaning paragraphs or humiliate students in front of their peer group.
