We have had 3 children with varying needs and skill level attend Lakeview from 2014 to 2024 and are very glad to be in its boundaries! Lakeview is the smallest school in the Norman district and it has a family feel to it. The teachers and staff know all the students names (and even most of the parents). There are numerous opportunities to be as involved as you could want to be as a parent, but even as a working parent without much time to spend at school itself I felt very much "in-the-know" about school events.
As with all Oklahoma schools, it seems that there are always more first-year teachers than one would hope to see (but that is true across the state and is due to the poor salary and support given statewide to education). There are also many experienced teachers on staff and we've been generally pleased with the teachers our kids have had over the years.
Anecdotally there seems to be a wide range of income levels attending Lakeview - there are numerous wealthy homeowners on large acreages but there are also many lower income families from trailers out in the country and children being raised by their grandparents. This seemed beneficial and our kids never had any problems with other students being judgy about things like clothes or cellphones. In general the student class seems accepting and open.
We would choose to attend Lakeview if given a choice.

The principal and the office staff were always so rude. The pre-k teacher was meh. We had a horrible experience here and now pay for private school.

As a parent, I couldn't be happier with our family's experience at Lakeview. The school is on a beautiful campus in a rural setting. It has outdoor spaces dedicated to a food and pollinator gardens, and it provides a top both education for my daughter. The WATCH dogs program and the PTA make all parents feel welcome. The office staff is friendly and helpful. The teachers are like a family. The school offers lots of extras like botball and coding club, as well as student council, library helpers, and a student run assembly. Great school!

Our daughter has been at Lakeview for a little over a year and we are thoroughly impressed. The Principal is AMAZING! All of the teachers are WONDERFUL, especially the Music Teacher and Librarian.
