My children have been attending Bodine since Pre-k and i would not switch schools for ANY reason. The principal Mrs. Coshow is so loving and cares for the children. She is so dedicated to their education and the well being of her students. I love this school. My kids love their teachers. My son and daughter have grown in their reading in math scored by 20 points from the beginning to the middle of the year. I cannot wait until the next test to see how much they have grown.

Special education suffers for lack of personnel. When there is a teacher shortage in Oklahoma...what can be done? Bodine does the best they can with what they have and with THE OVER ABUNDANCE of special needs kids.

Principal Coshow has lead the way for turn around at this school. The testing scores don't reflect the attitude of the Bodine family...test scores show the lack of continuity of the families. They move around alot.

The only mandatory homework is the Vocab notepad...but this daily assignment has raised the rigor of the school. Any parent who hasn't seen a Vocab notepad (homework) from their child is being "played"...ALL STUDENTS have this assignment for homework daily.

As with any school, students do better when their parents are involved. There are always one or two parents who think school is a public daycare...those are the ones you only hear from when THEIR child becomes a problem that THEY don't want to deal with. Teachers are there to TEACH not babysit. That being said, MOST of the parents are GREAT. The teachers go ABOVE and beyond to support families and students. (Show me a child that's not showing progress at Bodine and i'll show you parents who aren't doing their part.)

Bodine deals with bullying with other means besides suspension. Detention, Lunch clean up and the "Get along gang" to name a few. Behavior Intervention Plans are for repeat offenders.

Previous comments can not be further from the truth!!!!! All special needs students are serviced and show academic progress and gains yearly. The special education faculty are amazing!!!

They allow bulling with no punishment! Children that the teachers know are special needs are left to fend for their self. Awful place to have to send a child!

Teachers, principal, counslers all have excuses for why they haven't put my child in the classes with the help he needs. The reason, we are understaffed. That is no excuse to throw a child to the wolves. Sorry excuse for a school! Will be transferring my child asap!

The most wonderful school in the area. My children can not get there fast enough each day. High expectations for all students. My children have grown not only academically but socially as well.

The teachers are great and the speech therapist is wonderful. He is great with kids and very patient. I would highly recommend this school to anyone looking for a great school for their child.

In the passed three years this school has strived for excellence in academics, behavior and citizenship. As a community driven school Bodine has made huge strides to become the best school in the district. I have taught here for 3 years and Bodine's transformation is remarkable. Coming from fights and ignorant behavior to academic excellence and respectful students. The pride in the building is outstanding. Students, teachers and parents want to be here to participate. This school has a very bright future and will continue to exceed expectations.

All schools have room for improvement, but everyone knows that its the parents and students who really make up the CORE of the school environment. Schools can only be successfull when parents: 1. Get their children to class regularly and ONTIME 2. Make their children complete assignments and turn them in (both in class and homework) 3. Make their children read at home 4. Help their children do their Vocab. Notepad 5. Quickly discipline their children when the teacher has contacted them for behavior concerns Its when parents PARENT their children and STOP making excuses for them (or looking for faults with the teacher) that students, parents, teachers and administrators are happiest. **Show me a student who is unhappy at Bodine, and I will show you a parent who isn't involved with supporting the school.** The Principal and teachers there care about the success not only of the students, but the wellness of the family as a whole. Bodine is a school with a bad reputation that stems from a history that is no longer relavant. Those attitudes will no longer be tolerated. I love Bodine Elementary School!!!! The 2013-14 school year was significantly different from the 2012-13 school year such as: more parents were involved in the everyday workings of Bodine; there was order in the classrooms and hallways; it was a pleasure going to school each day, and the students were more responsive and respectful. Bodine Elementary School is now a school where kids can attend and know they are safe. I HIGHLY recommend Bodine Elementary as the school of choice for many, many parents who did not allow their children to attend school this past school year. Thanks to responsive administrators and caring teachers, Bodine Elementary is now a school on the rise! Go Bobcats!

I agree with the parent who said good things about Bodine. The principal and teachers are awesome!!! Things have really, really changed for the best since the old principal is not there anymore. Now, if dysfunctional parents would stop coming up there raising cain, that would improve Bodines image. Don't beleive everything your child tells you. Get them under control at home before sending them to school. Look at yourself first before blaming these wonderful teachers for what you need to do.

Very bad school!!! My kids have been attending this school now for 2 1/2 years and this year my son has been beat up 3 times by students and now has to loose recess for the rest of the year because he was defending him self and finally hit back! Princiapal is sorry excuse and needs to step down!!!!
