I miss this school so much, i used to go for my freshman year and I miss the band there, the school was always so welcoming and the teachers were so respectful and kind towards the students. even if there are fights every once in a while I feel like its a welcoming school because they make the students feel welcomed and etc. I want to go back but my parents wont let me because I'm at Santa fe South HS. I Think that capitol hill was a better school because the teaching environment over here is kinda dumb, but I respect the teachers here. I feel like if you haven't went to SFS for at least middle school or elementary its harder to make friends here, but at capitol hill you make a hell of a lot of friends. My grades were all As and Bs at capitol hill but ever since I moved I've felt so drained and just doesn't hit the same anymore, Capitol hill is a good school in my opinion, the teaching environment is better over there than over here. Santa Fe south is always money hungry and charging us for the smallest things, and they are always so expensive.

I'm a substitute teacher. I've been at the school many times. It's my favorite OKC school to go to. Student behavior is good, an administrative support is great. When I have had a problem wth a student someone comes to the class and removes the problem student with no questions asked. That means a a great deal to a substitute. It's demeaning to be asked (in front of the class) "Do you have a problem?" Or, "What is the problem?" The only question I've been asked is, "How can I help you?" Twice (out of many days) I've said, "Please take him/her out." And, it's happened. The class is orderly again and we make some progress. I like Capitol Hill High School students and leaders.

CHHS was one on the lowest performing school in Oklahoma, 6 years ago -rated F. Today, it is a "C" school with 2 academies within the school, Academy of Engineering and Acdemy of Fine Arts. Enrollment increased from 750 to over 1,450, however, test scored continued to increase. Great students and dedicated teachers.

My experience at CHHS was nothing short of GREAT. It has been a long time ago and I am sure things have changed, but I also note that the Southwest part of Capitol Hill has deteriorated a great deal. When I attended, home owners took a lot of pride in their homes /property. My recent travel in that area doesn't reflect that pride that existed back in the '50s, 60s and '70s.
I would have to place blame on poor ratings on the entire area!! I have several brothers and sisters who are also CHHS alumni and we are not from a "well-to-do " background.
If PARENTS will take the responsibility of their children's actions, teach them at home to have RESPECT FOR OTHERS,THEMSELVES AND OTHERS RIGHTS AND PROPERTIES, THEN AND ONLY THEN!! WILL YOU see the ratings of this once EXTREMELY proud High School return to the high ratings it once had!!

ONCE A CHIEFTON --
ALWAYS A PROUD CHIEFTON! !

I love this school because of its diversity of students, and the wonderful memories I have from attending there. Almost all, if not all, students Capitol Hill High School live in poverty. The school has very little resources, and is in dire need of assistance. These kids need to feel good about going to school, and in order to do that they need facilities that they can be proud of. Please join me in voting for Capitol Hill High School to give these kids a chance to succeed.
