I graduated 1988 from Emerson alternative high school. I shouldve graduated in 1986 but had some things happen and had to drop out of school in my high school year. So I decided to go back and I went to Emerson high school. Theres one teacher that was there That really was very kind, she motivated me and made me feel like I could do anything once I graduated. She taught me skills for real life. How to use the stock market to your advantage, how to sell things to make a profit. Ive done a lot of things in my life that Im proud of. I have an associate science. Ive been a Deputy corner, firefighter EMT, Ive worked as a CNA everywhere that you could possibly work, mostly in Hospice end of life or Emergency. I can no longer care for anyone because Ive had back surgery. But I still work. I own my own home. I have four kids, and seven grand grandchildren. I thank God for being able to go back to the school and graduate. My plans now are opening a crafting and arts studio, and making it a non profit. This way I can have kids come in that are low income. I would be able to provide their materials and teachers for them. The only thing I hated is we couldnt have a prom. I hope thats changed. He made a best friend which I havent seen in years Crystal from the school. I would absolutely recommend this school. Im a Cougar for life!! Thank you to the teachers that helped me though.

This school really helps students out and the teachers are amazing, funny, and helpful not like the other schools, but that's my opinion. Don't believe in those stereotypes fool you.

Emerson is a "turn-around" school for students who find teachers who care and an administrator who sees an individual student not a name on a paper. Thank goodness OKC district has a place for learning when it hasn't been easy at the home school.

I THINK EMERSON WAS A WONDERFUL SCHOOL FOR ME ...FOR ONE IT GAVE ME THE A WAY TO STAY IN SCHOOL AFTER I HAD MY SON AS A TEEN MOTHER I WAS FACING THE FACT THAT THERE WASNT MANY OPPTIONS FOR ME AND THAT A NORMAL SCHOOL WOULD NOT WORK WITH MY NEEDS OR MY SONS NEEDS THE SCHOOL ALSO GAVE ME GOOD LEARNING SKILLS ON BEEN A GOOD PARENT AND I LEARN ALOT ABOUT FAMILY PLAINING AND RESPECT FOR MYSELF~! THANKS EMERSON ALTERNATIVE SCHOOL
