THIS school is so garbage! The staff is almost always busy and if you have questions they take forever to reply. I am also upset because their college classes could be much better if they just do what U.S Grant does. I dislike the school but their concurrent enrollment was far better than PCWs. Not only was their real college teachers there that explained things but also if you just passed the class with an A not only did it count as college credit but also it counted as a high school credit. (For example if you took language arts at U.S Grant for 11th grade and get an A you get the language arts credit for that year).

I have had 3 students go to PCW. One 12 years ago, another 7 years ago and one currently going. This is the worst High School. Teachers are there for a paycheck, it is impossible to get anyone to answer the phone; I have actually had to leave work, drive 30 minutes to speak to someone at the school. I had a kid in athletics and she (14 years old) was left behind at an event. I have had to get a principle involved to get work from a teacher that my kids missed while being sick. And then this teacher graded it low because he was mad about it. The app they use to communicate with teachers; teachers don't use it or respond to you.
Please transfer to another school or do yourself a favor and do online.

This school will NOT keep your child/children safe. When attacked and jumped by multiple students, my child was issued a 10 day suspension, handcuffed, and sent 13 miles away without my knowledge. Mind you, the kids that attacked her got THE SAME PUNISHMENT. My daughter did not know either of these girls. They decided to jump her based on a false rumor spread by another girl looking for sympathy. There was video footage of the assault and the faculty still punished my child because she should have walked away immediately instead of responding to the allegations they were throwing at her. She was surrounded by kids, pushed from all sides, then punched in the back of the head, held down, and repeatedly punched in the back of the head over and over again. I was initially excited for my girls to attend PC West. Now, I'm afraid to even send my other daughter back. Currently I am looking for a new school. They had absolutely NO empathy for what my child went through. This school is dangerous and the faculty is too lazy to control the animals that attend that school. Save your child the pain and suffering, find another school! This one is for animals ONLY!

This school gives up on student who choose not to change their negative ways.

There are lots of instances where leadership simply doesnt matter.
Posted: July 29, 2019
Struggling and poor performing students are pushed further and further towards the nadir of their academics.

Anti -bullying is preached but not much is truly done about these situations.

The school simply does not care for homework or the completion of it.

While there are some teachers who perform poorly, the majority are inspiring and wonderful people.

Disappointing and uninspiring, students constantly struggle, stress and under perform due to the environment they are taught in.

My experience at this school was amazing and encouraging.

They give you many ways to complete your work, and help you through it. Not only the teacher of that respective subject help you, but also the counselors pay close attention on how you doing and if you are understanding the things you being explained.

One of the best assets that this school has is their teachers. They are very supportive
Posted: April 11, 2018
It needs to improve, I see a lot of students with issues about the respect they have to other students and teachers.
Posted: April 11, 2018
I wish they told more about leaderships programs to freshmen and ESL students, but overall I can say their is great leadership, good activities and even a leadership retreat once a year.
Posted: April 11, 2018
Their programs work very effectively, I only see problems in students that are affected by exterior problems. Students that have big responsibilities outside school, they not sleeping good or don't have time to do their homework. All this ends up affecting their attention in class.

Bullying still a thing at Putnam City West, it's mostly between girls and its directly related to personal matters between students, the so called slut-shaming exists at this school.

The teachers will hang up on one child instead teaching
Posted: February 19, 2018
No respect at all they talk to the parents any way they want
Posted: February 19, 2018
They don't know how to teach the children
Posted: February 19, 2018
The teachers are the ones that are the bullies

I would rate this school a 0 stay away

As a former student and coach I would rate P.C. West as above average. The school faces many socioeconomic issues. As with many Oklahoma schools it often lacks the necessary funding and support. However, what makes P.C. West a good school is it is full of faculty that truly care for the students. These faculty are often the only support many of the students have in their lives. Overall the faculty does a great job of making due with the little resources it has. I am glad I went to P.C. West

Putnam City West is a fantastic neighborhood school. The climate there is one where students feel cared about and safe. both of my children recently graduated from the school and I would not have sent them anywhere else. the faculty really cares and the music department is second to none!
