This school is ridiculous. You are required to purchase a water bottle that is identical to every other students water bottle which meant other children would drink out of my childs water... and many times the children would bring home each others bottles (yuck!). The punishment for kindergarten and beyond is running laps- you spoke in line? 3 laps at recess. Truly, a substandard experience. I regret ever sending my child to SEAS and couldnt be happier we left. Also it looks like theyre farming for reviews because those just seem disingenuous.

I can't say enough good things about St. Elizabeth Ann Seton School. I have done everything from other private schools, to homeschool, to public school and this school by far has been the best experience for my family. My children are thriving when they once struggled. They are getting the extra help they need to get caught up. They are nurtured and loved while the school focuses on teaching the whole child. The children at St. Elizabeth are by far the best students I have been around. They are caring, inclusive, well behaved, and full of joy at the school. The majority of the staff have either been at the school for 20+ years, or they are school alumni and loved it so much they returned to teach. They all love what they do and have built a strong foundation at St. Elizabeth. All the families at St. Elizabeth have the same goals and it becomes a supportive and involved community. There are a host of ways to get involved in the school and your child's education. One of my sons was bullied relentlessly in public school mainly on the playground. We have not seen that at St. Elizabeth. The children are held to a higher moral standard, and due to more staff to student ratio, the bullying has not happened with my son. The smaller class size allows my children to get more one on one attention from the teacher. But more important than academics is the fostering of my children's love for God and their faith. The academics have been excellent and classes seem to be a year ahead of public schools. We absolutely love the 3 years we have been at St. Elizabeth and it is the best kept secret in Edmond!

From the moment we joined this community, we knew we had found something truly special. The staff at St. Elizabeth don't just teach, they care, deeply and genuinely, about every single child who walks through the doors. The support my children have received goes far beyond anything I could have hoped for. The family orientated spirit is woven into everything here, from the warm greetings at drop off to the genuine investment every teacher has in your child's growth. My kids truly feel like they belong here and are seen and heard!

I highly recommend SEAS to anyone looking for a nurturing environment for their kids!

In addition the academic excellence here speaks for itself. Students consistently perform strongly on national testing, a testament to the dedication of an incredible teaching staff and rigorous, well rounded curriculum. My kids went to public school for several years prior and their testing scores were never as high as they are now. before But what truly sets this school apart is how that excellence is achieved, your child is never just a face in the crowd.

Lastly, I would just like to say that the school has phenomenal security! There is video surveillance all around the school and the cameras show up on large screens inside of the front office that the office staff can see at every moment during the day!! In addition they have a real POLICE officer on campus (not a security guard) but a REAL OKC Police officer! Deputy Atoki is well seasoned and loved by all of the SEAS students and parents, he attends all of the events that the school hosts like sporting games, etc. He has a great relationship with the kids, he attends every recess and watches over the kids and drives around the building throughout the day, just showing his police presence. As parents- this feature of the school might sadly be one of the most import deciding factors.

Overall, SEAS is a great school and family for our kids.

As a parent you are looking for a private school to provide a better environment. You will NOT find this environment at St Elizabeth Ann Seton.

We have three children and have been at SEAS for many years. I loved this school and use to recommend it to everyone. Unfortunately, the most recent administration change has been driving the school down a horrible path.

The principal is too focused on making SEAS an elite option. SEAS was already an amazing school and this push to be the best is destroying the morale.

The students are tiered: children of staff and high donors can curse out staff and threaten to bring weapons to school and hurt other students without consequence and all other children will run laps, miss recess for detention, and get threatening emails for the slightest most normal kid behavior (example talking in line).

Also disappointing, is hearing private student information - medical and academic - being spread by the children of staff as gossip.

Last year was subpar, this year was unbearable, I cannot imagine what next year will bring. Every day I hear more disappointment and frustration from other parents. Its no longer focus on educating your whole child. Its no longer focused on building a positive learning environment. Long term families that put their heart, soul, and money into the school are waitlisting at other Catholic schools.

As a teacher, parent, and a grandparent I highly advise against Saint Elizabeth Anne Seton in Edmond, Oklahoma. My honest review is that it lacks in every regard. I would not send my poodle there if I had one.
It is cold, unfriendly, and backwards in the way they teach. Think 1975. For example, the punishment for a slight infraction at the school is to run laps at recess. Yes. Laps. How crazy is that even the kindergartners maybe even the preschool I dont know.
I cant even begin to say how wrong this is as a punishment on every level- it treats the wholesome act of exercise and running as punishment isnt good healthy habits, such as exercise, what we wish to encourage in children? It starts at the top of the food chain with the priest and the principal and goes down from there. Obviously theres tension present. The staff walks on eggshells.
I cannot describe my level of distain for the school because theres not enough space- but believe me, as someone who is open minded and who loves children. DO NOT THINK THIS IS A GOOD SCHOOL BECAUSE IT IS NOT. It will damage your child. It will take years of therapy for them to recover.

I work here. A new principal started in 22 and she was great. She helped push out some terrible teachers and long term staff that needed to go. She quickly moved on to bigger and better things and now we are stuck with new administrators that play favorites, gossip, and follow the entitlement train. One step forward and three giant steps back! Keep your kids away from here, its just like Edmond public only you get to pay $10,000!

This will be my 10th year teaching at SEAS and Im dreading starting school this week. I used to like teaching here and looked forward to starting school. But, ever since we got a new principal, its been very different. She is not professional, inexperienced, and has her favorites. A lot of teachers and administrators who have been at this school for years left last year because of this new principal. I am really dreading this year and I hope to teach at another school next semester.

This school was TERRIBLE. Too be honest one star isnt good enough for this school. I went here for a semester and experienced bullying and racism. All of middle school students were rude enough to make all of the new students in my grade leave or want to leave.I will never feel the same about this church or community again if this is what they are allowing there students to act like. The staff and faculty members are also Terrible!
The teachers had kids in their own class that they let do whatever they want.One of the teachers kids even wrote a paper of a bunch of rude thing about their peers! This student was barley punished because of his mom being a teacher. This school changed how I looked at my faith and I do not recommend going there your kids might say its great at least thats what I did but it wasnt and I left you should too!!No to mention the emotional trauma I experienced from this place. This school made me turn away from god and my faith because of my awful experience. No one is safe here I had a person I knew get SA by staff and students!!SAVE you children do not send them here!!!

The monthly service projects are more than just a "checklist" item for SEAS. The faculty really lives and shows the meaning of these service projects and "walks the walk" They are a great example for our children and strive to instill strong moral values.

We have been at SEAS for 3 years after initially completing another private Pre-K year here in Edmond. As a teacher myself, my expectations are high. I am continually impressed with the curriculum and rigor as well as the individualization offered to children. In addition, I am grateful for the ongoing emphasis on moral values/beliefs that the SEAS faculty lives out and promotes. I can NOT say enough wonderful things about SEAS!

We appreciate the reinforcement of moral character this school provides. Both our kids are in the alpha program for advanced learning and can't wait for the next school year to start. Our family is so proud to be a part of the St. Elizabeth community. As a former graduate, I can attest to the close family atmosphere and the focus on Catholic education.
When my husband and I moved back to Oklahoma City we were excited about enrolling our children at SEAS so that they would be able to have a similar educational experience that both my husband and I had. We have found that although faces have changed and academics have strengthened at SEAS that the same warm community atmosphere remains and the emphasis on Catholic education is primary.
We cannot say enough about the helpful staff and caring teachers who go above and beyond to give our children a rich and well rounded education.
Thank you SEAS for providing our family a place where our children can both pray and learn!

We have two children who graduated from St. Elizabeth. They both have had a successful transition to high school and are in a number of advance placement classes. We credit the St. Elizabeth community to fostering their individuality and preparing them for a successful future. We have one child currently enrolled at Saint Elizabeth Ann Seton and everyday we see our child thrive in the school's loving, structured, nurturing and educational environment. We drive across town and pass multiple private and public schools each day for our child to attend Saint Elizabeth. We have two children at SEAS and are extremely happy with the school.....so many wonderful aspects: academics, religion, faith formation, rules, kindness, charity and values. These teachers are more than devoted to the all-around success of our children. From first grade forward, class sizes are 20ish/1, which is superior to any public school. (Pre-K and Kinders have 20/2 ratios). It is so nice to walk into the school and not only be recognized, but made welcome from the minute you start at the school. Our children are learning right and wrong and are learning more academically than our neighborhood school (based on comparison from a neighbor's child's homework). The teachers and their support teachers will modify or create a plan that helps our child in certain areas of need - academically and behaviorally. Our children show love for other classmates and the school family. We have had no issues at all with bullying. We came to the school in the fall of 2015 under the direction of the newer principal (2014). Our understanding from those present prior to Mrs. Gallagher is that she has really been an incredible positive force for this school family and we are certainly here to stay.

Due to job transfers, we have lived in four cities and have now had our children in four Catholic schools. When we found out we were moving to OKC, we definitely wanted to continue with Catholic education for our children. St. Elizabeth Ann Seton in Edmond, OK has been a great place for our seventh grader. Excellent academics, very strong commitment to faith formation, and what comes top of mind as a parent of a middle schooler...just no drama! My child says "everyone just sits together", it is not "groupie" and everyone is included. I think this is very unique and a great asset to the school. The transition as a new seventh grader this year was good both academically and socially. In addition, there is excellent professionalism and communication from teachers and administration. Parents can check daily/weekly grade reports online, lunch accounts, receive daily "Remind" homework updates from teachers, and frequent detailed updates from the principal on all school activities. We have been very pleased with our child's progress this year as he prepares for eighth grade.

The school offers "challenge work" and a program called "ALPHA" which is a challenge program for students who can handle more. This is unique as many Catholic schools do not offer a challenge/supplemental program for these type of students.

When we moved to Edmond and chose to enroll our children at SEAS we were really pleased with the warm welcome they received. Their teachers and peers are so kind, and we have been excited about the many ways for them to get involved in and out of the classroom. The school offers strong academics, faith development, special programs and events, extra classes (art, library, Spanish, music, computers, PE) and a great community. The administration, staff and teachers are all focused on providing rigorous academics in the context of a loving, Catholic environment. We feel very blessed for our kids to be at SEAS!

St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic School provides so much more than superior academics (although you get that, too!) A Pre-k through 8th grade school, They truly care about the whole child. Our family loves the "chums" program where the older students are paired with a younger one to attend weekly church service together and help them learn from each other. We also love the House System in the middle school which gives them another sense of community. The students regularly write letters to their Grand-friends (matched with them by the school) in the community. The school provides Spanish, art, PE, and music classes weekly beginning in Pre-K. ALPHA (accelerated learning program), STEM programs, appropriate technology learning, music, band, drama, and extracurricular sports teams are also available. With faith based lessons, high standards, and caring educators, St. Elizabeth Ann Seton School isn't just teaching students. They are helping to raise great people! Two of our children have graduated from SEAS, and are now doing great in high school in AP classes and team sports. Although there is tuition, financial aid is available if needed. We have had kids at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton for 12 consecutive years and still have 7 years before they are all finished. We love our school. The teachers are caring and wonderful. When my 16 year old is with me at St. Elizabeth functions, it is so lovely to see the teachers and staff welcome her and ask how high school is going (teachers still there from her pre-k year to 8th grade. It is truly a family environment. She was more than prepared for her college prep high school. The academics are great and just as important, my kids are challenged spiritually. They get to start their day in prayer and end it that way also. The principal has grown this school. Come with high expectations for your kids behaviorially, spiritually, and academically.

My child had always dreaded going to school. This all changed when he entered Mrs. Golshani's fifth grade classroom. He then was so excited and eager to get to school. He always said that his teacher made learning fun, and we saw a marked growth in his academics and his attitude in general. I would highly recommend this school, especially for fifth grade. He feels that he is thoroughly prepared for middle school and that it will be an easy transition. I hope my other child is also fortunate to get her when she's in fifth grade!

We love this school! My daughter is in Pre-K and is learning so much! This is such a nurturing environment, the teachers and staff are amazing and you can tell they care about each individual student! My brother also goes here and is now in middle school. His classes have been challenging and seem to be well ahead of his friends in public schools for the most part. There also seems to be much more parental involvement than you see in public schools these days, and for a private school the price is very reasonable! If you're looking for a private school in the Edmond/NW OKC area, you should definitely consider this school!

She is a freshman at Bishop McGuinness and her classmates tell her she is lucky that she is better prepared for high school than they are. My younger son is still at SEAS and loves school. I am a parent that felt compelled to withdrawal my children from SEAS due to bullying, very dated math tutoring, weak religious education and teachers that would not embrace my children's personal strengths. My daughter personally asked her teacher for more challenging work and I was told that she (the teacher) did not want to stress my daughter out by giving it to her. My daughter also had issues with female classmates pulling down her pants several times-this was attributed to the lack of supervision on the playground. In addition, my son needed a few adjustments made to excel, but I was told that they couldn't make any changes to their current system to help him, because it would've been a distraction to the other students. We were not asking for the moon, I am still frustrated with their reaction. The main lesson I learned from being an involved, volunteering parent... if your child is of average intelligence, can always sit still, does not require any additional help whether it be tutoring or enrichment, this school is for you. However, many kids do not fall into that category, mine did not. I left there with hurt feelings and money wasted.

I am a student at Saint Elizabeth's, and I think it is a great school. The academics are great and the teachers enforce the Christian virtues that they teach in their religious classes. My future high school teachers have told me that seas is great for preparing us for high school. They do a great job of praising academic success and helping if students are behind. I don't know why anyone would dislike this school. They also have great athletic equipment and facilities. Not all of the staff is fantastic but none of them are horrible. The homework isn't that bad either. The only reason your child would have tons of homework is because he/she is a slow worker or talks during class. They have also started hiring young which is good. I love this school and don't realize why anyone wouldn't.

I am a parent of 2 current students at SEAS and I feel blessed each day I drop them off and pick them up. Our children are receiving a great education (both academically and spiritually). The teachers we have had have gone above and beyond! One of our children has struggled a little bit and his teachers have been on top of it each step of the way. They want our children to be successful ( in all areas of life) just as much as we do. I feel SEAS mirrors the values we have at home. That means everything to us. As for parent involvement, we are both working parents and make time to be at school and volunteer as much as possible. I see much of the same in our classes.

I am a parent of three current students at SEAS, one being a middle school student. My husband, myself, and our children have been nothing but pleased with the education, support, and Christian values that we have experienced at St. Elizabeth's. Yes there are some high expectations and rules that are expected to be followed, but if children don't have expectations placed at home AND school, something is lacking. When one of our children was struggling academically, SEAS immediately put a plan into place that provided the additional support he needed. We are very involved parents and I definitely believe that we have gotten out of this school what we wanted for our children, but we have also put the effort into developing relationships with our children's educators. I should also mention that I happen to be a special educator for our local public school, and although I do believe that we are fortunate to have great local schools, having a "moment of silence" at the beginning of the day doesn't cut it for us. Our Catholic faith is top priority in our family and I believe that it should also be the top priority of the people with whom my children spend the majority of their day!

The big picture here is really great. Good kids, good teachers, good leadership, very responsive to "input" (even if I don't always get my way) and a staff that could not be more dedicated to your child. I think the school is providing a solid traditional, Catholic education for it's students and it really pays off big time over the long haul. I read about "customer service" and "christian-like principles" in public schools and I am a bit perplexed. This is a Church, not a Business and the parishioner service is excellent by any measure, they teach Catholic Values, a task that is a bit more involved than what they are doing in public school. There is more than great academics to a Catholic Education. Your children gain wisdom grounded in Catholic Values. They learn about forgiveness, humility, self discipline, charity, faith, and so much more. These values combined with great academics create successful people. If you are willing to apply your Catholic Values as your kids attend this school you will find that you have remarkable young men and women as they walk up to get their diploma at the end of a long journey.

After 6 years and with much trepidation, we left this school because we felt that something wasnt right, although we couldnt quite put our finger on it. So after 9 weeks at our local public school, seeing how a successful school is operated, we are of the opinion that, not only is this school not great, it may actually be harmful to a child's development. Its pretty sad when a Public School, who is not allowed to mention God's name, does a better job of teach and reinforcing lifeskills such as character and christian-like principles.

Every school has issues. You will never be able to find a perfect school and this school is not an exception to that. However, I believe that you get out of something what you put into it. All these parents are complaining that the school needs to change, but I see few, on a day-to-day basis, that actually spend time helping to achieve that. Each one complains of his or her own problems and forgets that working together is key to making a difference! What this school community really needs is increased student-teacher-parent-principal interaction! If you don't like the school for whatever reason, don't just post a review on a blog and sit back and feel better about yourself because you believe you've done some good. To really achieve improvement, we need to come together as a community and discuss/ work out the complaints put forth in these reviews. I'm ready to make a difference!! The question is, how many of these unhappy parents, as well as those who are satisfied, will join me?

My son was told to get a haircut. Ok I will follow the rules. Why doesn t staff follow the rules? There is a staff member whose hair is longer than my son s. Several staff break dress code everyday. What example does this set for our kids? Have an issue? It is a waste of time to go to a teacher or aide. The aide will tell you to talk to the teacher, the teacher will tell you to talk to the principal. The principal will ask, did you talk to the teacher? ! Staff looks scared and must be sworn to secrecy. Nothing happens or changes! Disorganization (seen carpool), no leadership or accountability (depending upon your teacher, the rules and expectations can be totally different than the other class), lack of professionalism (teachers complain and seem worn out), defensiveness, and frustration (can someone please tell me how you get a low grade in Library?) At my job, everyone has annual reviews. You are told what your strengths are and what you can improve upon to make the company better. I am also asked to give my suggestions. I wanted a Catholic education for my child, but this won t be it. This school is in desperate need of a thorough make-over.

I am not a Parent and I am not a "FORMER" student. I am a student now at SEAS and I have been reading some of these comments. I know my school rules can be dumb sometimes but everything else is pretty good. There is some work needed with only one person.(if you have been to my school you know who it is.) The academics program is amazing. I know that when I go to high school i will be prepared for any work it decides to throw at me. The 6th grade Literature teacher has your child do a Shakespeare play and she is the only 6th grade teacher in the entire state of Oklahoma! This school is worth the tuition!

Both my children attend SEAS; both my children love their teachers; both my children's coursework is more advanced than their counterparts at other local public and private schools. Make no mistake, it is a private school. Accommodations will not be made for poor performance, either academically or behaviorally. What this means is that if your child is not catching onto the coursework, the teachers will provide many resouces and activities for you to utilize to help your child. If your child has a behavior issue, the school will work with the parent to provide them tools and skills in improving the behavior AT HOME. The ENTIRE class will not be bogged down due to the poor performance of one; nor will the teacher be expected to spend the bulk of their time with one problem student. This will anger the parent of that child. It makesnthe classroom a learning environment for everyone else. Help is provided for those who ask and are willing to get involved, not expect the school to do it for them. The teachers do everything they can and emphasize the education of the entire student: mind, body, AND soul. I am very pleased with the school and faculty.

This school is good if parents are ready to help their children. It is an opened secret, great schools all over America is the handiwork of well educated parents, who valued high academic standard. For me, this school saved my daughter from two years of bully in Edmond public schools. My daughter did well in this school and she seems to be at the same level as her classmates in advanced math. My children love SEAS, their classmates, teachers, and it was a welcomimg evironment for them. The only place in OK where they were known by their names not what their father does.. For improvement, I think parents need to be open to new ideas and the reality of today's world. Sex is on TV, Ipad, Ipod, and everywhere! Charity event in this school is super, fantastic literature class, students need tons of writing practice, and a teacher need to discard 15 years old test (sic) !

I am neither a teacher nor a parent at SEAS but I have seen the level of dedication, commitment and self sacrifice offered by its teachers and staff. Having read the reviews posted here, it begs the question: Why are parents disgruntled? Why do they feel they have no recourse but to post on this site? Is it because they get no support or due process from the school? We too, have lived in many different locales and we feel that this is the worst Catholic school we have seen. Every year we we were told "Oh, it will get better next year." And it never did. Looking back on the years and the tuition spent, we wish we could get our money back. This school is not that great. There are maybe 5 good to great teachers out of the staff of 25. Dont be fooled by the student/teacher ratio listed here. There are 26 kids in each class. The lower elementary classes have part time aides. The upper elem and middle school have to share. The academics and religious education are so-so. The biggest problem with this school is the leadership and the administrative policies. The principle is weak and the rules are inconsistently written and enforced sporadically based on popularity or parental influence. This school maintains a full enrollment because it is the only Catholic School in town and the tuition rates are reasonably low compated to other private schools in the area. There are so many problems that they can't be adequately described in the space provided. You cant do just as well if not better at the public school.

I think this is an excellent school. The teachers and administration are exceptional. My daughter loves this school. She is challenged in her classes and is respected by all. This is a special, caring, and friendly environment where students can grow spiritually, emotionally, and academically. This is a Christ-centered and learner-centered school where students can feel good about themselves. Students are very prepared for high school. In fact, high school teachers often comment on the students that come from this school as being some of the most prepared and successful students in their high school.

My child tells me about the insane and useless rules that it has. Other than that he likes it. Overall, it is an ok school with some good teaching about how to make your future as bright as you can make it.

There is not a writing plan in place, math and science objectives are exceptionally poor. The principal lacks leadership skills, refuses to acknowlege problems. This is not a child centered school. There is not a nutrition plan and candy is handed out on a daily basis. There are a few adequate teachers, but none of star quality.

Don't Waste Your Money. Over the last few years, this school has increasingly gone downhill. The organizational culture is poor. pettiness and gossip abound with the staff. Teachers and aides think its okay to speak and act hatefully toward a child and the principal does nothing. The discipline system is ineffective, students in the middle school openly mock and disregard the rules. Verbal harrassment is overlooked. Christian principle of love, kindness and forgiveness are not incorporated into the everyday happenings at the school. The religious education program is marginal. The office staff, with the exception of 1 person, are largely incompetent, lacking even basic computer skills and are not respectful to their customers. The Academics program is mediocre, students are behind in Math and writing skills when they enter high school. No consideration is given for special needs. Teachers refuse to modify their classroom management strategies. Every child is lumped together. There is no nutrtion program. School lunches are unbalanced and unhealthy. Parents have no recourse to get their concerns addressed thru the principal, the parish, or the archdiocese.

If you are looking for a school where the office is rude and wont listen to or even acknowledge parents' concerns, and teachers and aides are allowed to scream at children. Where teachers have been using the same lesson plans for the last 10 plus years. Where students are set up to fail rather than given the tools needed to succeed. Where verbal bullying and harrassment is ignored. Then this is place for you.

Academics - Average Religious Education - Average This school has the potential to be great, there are a few wonderful teachers. Unfortunately, there is also a culture of "parents are the enemy." Parents are asked to perform certain tasks, but new ideas or continuous improvement is neither welcomed or accepted. Communication from the administration is lacking and many of the staff members have zero customer service skills. For the money, we dont think it is a good value. You can get an equal to or better than education for your children at the local public schools.
