Our kids absolutely love Rose Union and the Principle. She’s always out front welcoming them at drop off. The teachers also really care for the students.

No help for kids with disabilities and they DO NOT care regardless of how many meetings you have. Some of the staff is ok but the principal and most of the staff do not care about the well-being of the children just what makes the school “look better”. I hate this entire district and would NEVER recommend this school or any school in the district to anyone!!!

We moved and started Rose Union right before winter break and the process seemed unorganized and not well prioritized. They never really briefed us on the basic operations or what we could expect, but were rather just thrown into the mix and expected to keep up and figure it out. For example a daily schedule (apart from drop off and pick up time) which would have been helpful on the days we scheduled a dr appt or otherwise leave early, technology setup (they never even asked us if we needed tech, thankfully we had our own iPad, and my child IXL login info was never set up or sent home the entire year), there was no communication sent out that yearbooks would only include fall pictures. There was also a couple of times where I had to drop things off at the school and they waited until pack up time to give it to my son who had then missed the opportunity to use whatever I had to drop off - that’s fine, I get they’re busy, but at least let people know when they call to ask about dropping something off that it’s not going to be a priority and it would be a waste of time anyway.

Lastly, we moved from Dallas and chose Deer Creek because of all the rave reviews we had heard and it’s position in being the best school district in Oklahoma. To put it lightly, I am pretty disappointed by comparison of curriculum and implementation and use of elearning.

Absolutely not. The principal is the biggest bully of them all

Posted: February 10, 2020

They label your child and corner them to make sure they are a trouble maker

Posted: February 10, 2020

They are the bullys. The children are not the problem. The teachers and principal are

If I could give this less than a zero on a scale of 1 to 10 I would. Do not let your child suffer here. My child excels in other school now

Children should not have this much homework. Ever. Are they teaching up there?

Posted: February 10, 2020

Nope. They are not effective unless you mean in their wine club or their click.

Integrity starts at the top. And this school doesnt have it

I'll temper my review by saying my child does not attend this school. i'm sure it has a lot of great qualities or it wouldn't be rated so highly. However...

While looking into the school for our son, the secretary was pretty unaccommodating with me. We are a military family, and have to move often with no knowledge or connections to any schools (we are constantly having to choose schools/neighborhoods over the internet, which is extremely difficult).

I flew to the OKC area for a special trip to research schools, and before I left I called this school to inquire about a tour or just coming in for some information. Not only did the secretary tell me she would not let me take a tour, she didn't even want me to come in and get any information. She said I would have to wait until I was registered.

I tried to explain that we were coming from out of state, and our son has some unique educational needs, and we were trying to find neighborhoods based on whether the schools had the programs he needed. She just told me I would have to move there, register for the school and then I could get an "orientation". She tried the "our principal is busy" excuse. All principals are busy, but every other school I talked to was incredibly welcoming when I explained our situation.

While I understand the schools are busy, I think a school that guards its practices from prospective parents is hiding something. Out of 10 schools I researched, this was the only one that gave me any trouble at all. I actually think the front office staff plays a huge part in the culture of the school, and the way I was treated over the phone gave me immediate reservations.
