Del City middle school is the WORST school ever. My concerns have been unheard since the beginning of the school year. The 6th grade Geography teacher M Bowen is a true bully in my eyes who tears down a child's confidence in class before my child even have a chance to face the world later in life. And the principle's excuse/cover-up about this teacher was he's a COACH! The teachers and principles are horrible. Mid-del is not the same from when I attended Sooner Rose,Del Crest and Del City hs.
What happened?!

This is the worst school. They don't care about the safety of their students. Only half the teachers care. The principals are awful. They choose the discipline "based on best judgment" but 2 students can do the same thing and 1 gets suspended and another gets ISR/ISD. Homeschooling your child (even if you don't have a clue what you're doing) is a better option than sending them to this school.

This school condones bullying and is not a safe environment.

I have had so many issues at this school since the first day ,first of all they told my child she couldn't eat lunch because she didn't have her badge or lunch money on the first day of school, than they suspend my 6th grader for defending his self because so boys are in his face calling him a monkey they gave him 5 days they have suspended my daughter about 5 times since August due to her having to defend herself because these kids can't keep they hands to there self and than they allow these teachers to scream in they face and cuss them out so please I repeat do not put your kids in this school they will harass them becsuse of the color of they skin and find many excuses to send them home and cover for the teacher ......

Its ok there are some leaks but its still an ok school.
Homework:there is none
Teachers: some are nice some arent some help some don't
Leadership: the school has some but not a lot
Character: most kids at this school don't have good character but some have good character
Learning differences: there is a class for kids with learning differences and the teachers are understanding to them
Bullying: a lot of people get bullied and the school doesn't notice but when they do the handle it kinda good

They give you 2 examples dont help complain more than help
Posted: July 15, 2018
Some help others dont just depends on how big of an ego the teacher has

I went to Kerr as well as 2 of my children. It is a great school with a lot to offer in the form of classes and activities. The administration had a shake up a few years ago and it's thrived even more so since then. The teachers are creative and caring. Wouldn't have my children anywhere else!

Absolutely! The kids are told what is expected from day one. When people care, they do the best they can to show the students. When students know the teachers care, they do their best to be the best.

My son just completed his first year at Kerr. It was a very good experience for him. I was concerned because other schools had better ratings but turns out there was no cause for alarm. My son is somewhat shy and I hoped he wouldn't have any problems. He didn't. The students were friendly. The teachers were kind and caring. They kept me informed on his progress. I even got a weekly email from the band instructor as to what was going on for the week. Thankful to the staff for helping to make the transfer from elementary to middle school a smooth one for my child.

They care and they do their best to inspire the students to learn. That's not always easy but they do a good job.

I was a student at this school! And this was the best school. All the teachers were friendly and everyone was really nice. Yeah, there were times we kids cussed or did bad things. But that's at every school. Every single day I was excited to go to school and cried when summer came around. I am now in High School and I still go back to Kerr and thank the teachers for everything they did for me! Kerr is an EXCELLENT school for kids!

Honestly, I am more concerned about education than the beauty of the school. This isn't the most expensive neighborhood in the city. As the mom of a 7th grader, I must commend the teachers on keeping me abreast of my child's progress. His grades dropped slightly in two classes. They worked with us and set him up with a tutor to bring his grades back up. This staff cares!

I recently went to kerr for a basketball game....school structure? I was not pleased...I saw blue paint on the floor and chips in the floor... The basketball players had to sit in the stands and the cheer leaders got in the way a few times....haven't heard anything from education, but if your looking for beauty? I would not recommend Kerr

Kerr really welcomed my son with open arms. He was going to Monroney as a transfer student, but at the end of the first week he was told, "Sorry we're over are numbers, you can't go here anymore!" Kerr is his home-base school. The counselors were so nice to us. All of his teachers seem awesome and the front desk seems friendly. Mr. Cherry also is a great figure head and funny.

Enrollment was very efficient for my incoming 6th grader. They had "Camp Eagle" to let new students learn about school, teachers, how to open a locker and served them lunch! It helped with some of the fears of going to middle school. Very nice and friendly staff! Look forward to a good year!

So I loved most of my teachers and counselors , I also liked the principal . But my fellow classmates were disrespectful and idiotic.

This school is really getting the community involved and improves all the time! Tinker Air Force Base Wing 552 has adopted this school and is involved in improvement projects, mentoring and tutoring! Kerr has a great staff and PTA my kids are really doing welll at this school.

NOT a very good school, they cram math classes down the kids and the majority of what they teach in those classes-math-is only used in a few specialized fields. The state of OK has forced these tests on the students and it's all that matters to the staff--make US look good, screw your education. The disrespect and bullying is right on, check facebook for "nice" videos of students fighting and cursing. Most, but not all, the teachers are there to just collect a paycheck and go home.
