Kids are not allowed to be kids here. Kids are rushed all the time, parents are not acknowledged. Poor communication from admin/teachers to parents. Everything is a money grab, when they need donations and to meet a quota thats when youll get a good response. They have this new thing be the nice kid agenda instead of teaching children self respect and boundaries. So many learning gaps and skips though curriculum. If your child has an IEP like mine they will be ostracized and fall through the cracks where the teachers and admin dont care to help them. The atmosphere is so hostile and unwelcoming. I feel bad my kids had to go here! We are now enrolled in a better school! AVOID!

The administration has a new age agenda. Rushed pickup /drop off. The teachers dont care about the students. This atmosphere is entirely fake, but they called it the happiest place on earth. Children are rushed emotionally and not taken seriously. You feel as though the teachers feel they are superior over the children. Its not a warm atmosphere. Staff doesnt acknowledge parents from day to day and students arent rewarded for hard work. Absolutely no communication from teachers to parents and the energy is very cold. Would not recommend if you want your child to feel loved or cared for at school.

My husband and I, who both former teachers, were impressed with my son's teacher. The school is a true neighborhood school. Grateful for both the staff and students!

Not impressed. Everyone rants and raves about Deer Creek Schools, but I just cannot fathom what they are so stoked about. This school is so overcrowded, I had to sit on the floor to have lunch with my kid in the cafeteria. The other option is to take child out to the car after checking out, eat, and check back in. The principal rudely shuts down parental concern conversations, the school secretary is playing nurse (funding I guess, even tho we pay highest property taxes in the state), their test scores are high because they have only recently started comparing themselves to schools outside of Oklahoma, and a kindergartener walked out of this school last month unnoticed. Got half way home before another parent pulled over, picked kid up, and returned child to school. I am really at a loss here...

Grove Valley provides a model for what an elementary school should be. It has high academic expectations in an environment where the staff (from the principal to custodian) genuinely cares about students.

My son's first year at Grove Valley was wonderful, but the second year left much to be desired. His teacher came with her own set of biases about us and our son. It was very confusing for my son and depressing. Oftentimes, he was sent to the office for very minor infractions and we were called. The environment had become less tolerant and more populated. The year my son enrolled, his class had 23 students, which I found to be unacceptable but because the environment seemed very nurturing, I excused the appalling ratio. The following year I couldn't ignore the affects of the student to teacher ratio. By mid year my son had approximately 27 students in his class and counting. The teacher effectively told me that she didn't have the resources to manage my child. So, we decided that may be Grove Valley wasn't the right school for our child. We felt private school was the better option for our child and what he was accustomed to.

Its everything I had hoped for and then some. I just wish it wasn't growing so fast so that it was still a little secret gem! It's hard for them to keep up with the growth, but they are doing an amazing job.
