cant go a day without sexism, racism, or homophobes. the people here dont even know their times tables yet. the teachers wont do anything usually and ive had a teacher who literally does not care about teaching. tbf they arent payed enough and this school is money hungry AH. ykw its not THAT bad but not great at all.

I was a student at this school, while I was there I was always bullied, the teachers are rude, I constantly got called names and people would always push me around and the teachers would never do anything about it, do not go to this school!

Hello, fellow people reading this post. I am a student at this school and I say that this had been a very stressful and  traumatic experience. Firstly, I am a Black American girl and I have been at that school for a least a year and a half. Almost every single day, I cannot go a day without a racist comment or someone  threatening someone to use the 'N' word, which I think is very despicable. Mostly every day I  think that somebody is going to do or say something that will cause me to retaliate to the situation. I bet you as soon as I do it won't be pretty, and I'll be the one who gets in trouble. Another thing is Deer Creek schools always  preach about "being safe, being respectful, and be responsible".  Well, its hard feeling safe when you get threats every other week, you always see them on the news. Almost  no one is responsible at this school.I show up everyday try to be respectful as possible to everyone, but the teachers,nor the students are respectful. I sorry but a teacher using  the "N' word and not apologizing is not respectful, and being threatened to use is not either. Another thing is since Black American girl, they put a lot doubt in me. I mean I'm not the smartest, but I try my best. For example, I  put effort into my assignment, but no outcome. Take points off for the way I use the color besides the actual fact I have in the assignment. If we're being honest I don't recommend any black or any other ethnicity to be here next year. If you do hopefully your experience is better than mind. This school is only good for education, but not make you feel like family or equal. Thank you for taking your time out.I  apologize for this be long, but I  had to say something. It's to the point that I'm in  therapy, but no one I tell believes me. I'm going to end it here because I could really write a whole book about my experience

I went to this school in 7th grade I left because of the bullying and I was uncomfortable. There was this one teacher who would stare at mine and other girls breasts and butts. It was so bad we would all wear jackets in his class. I went to the principal and councilor with this issue they both said i made it up,wanted attention, and laughed. I was not the only girl who felt this way and I was not the only girl who went to the principal and councilor with this issue.Nothing was done. He still works there. I do NOT recommend this school.

I have a love/hate relationship with DC Schools. The staff and teachers at all the schools we have attended have been amazing. My daughter thrived at her neighborhood elementary. Hands down this has been the best part of our DC experience. Now for the part after the neighborhood elementary that teachers have no control over. 4 different schools in 5 years for kids is too much especially the ages at which these kids have to attend 4 different schools. The years between 4th-9th grade are hard enough without having to adjust to a new school year after year. Growth in the district has caused schools to swell quickly over the years but it seems as if top level leadership couldn’t handle that growth. Unfortunately it appears they are going to continue down the same road with the new current leadership building more schools that could double as low security prisons (I’m quoting teachers with that statement) with just 2 grades in the entire building. It also seems some of the parents in the district don’t have control over their children. There’s a lot of bullying and distractions in the schools. The norm is 3-4 kids in each class causing problems making it difficult on the other 20 kids in the class to learn. DC needs more support staff in this area. To include in those discipline problems was a 5th grader that sent d*ck pics in a group text while at school last school year.
Again great staff at the schools we have attended, I wouldn’t trade most of the teachers we’ve had with any other district. However the multiple schools in that few years is not an experience that’s fun for that age group. Oh and I forgot to mention those middle grades have the earliest start times. So plan on your 4th-6th grader being exhausted most of the time with that 7:30am start time and the bus running at 6:30. In my opinion this is the biggest reason for the discipline issues in these grades. The kids aren’t getting enough sleep. The elementary schools start at 8:55am. I can’t be the only one scratching my head over that…..

It is a good school as my son is doing 7th grade. It is a good school for students to enroll as we don't need to worry about bullying and academic.

This is by far our favorite school within the district. The leadership here keeps unruly kiddos in check, genuinely cares and runs the school with an iron fist. There is less of all the bad here (bullying, vaping, etc). I really think it’s because of the leadership they have. The district should take note of what’s going on here and implement it at the elementary, intermediate and high school levels. Thanks DCMS for being the first to show complete professionalism, common sense, consistency, academic strength and for having a backbone! #vandornforsuperintendent

My 7th grade school year here has the best year in my life. The teachers are amazing. While they do have a lot of fundraisers, they are all needed as education here in Oklahoma is not well funded. These fundraisers support lower yearbook costs, supplies, and the teachers and school itself.

I moved here in the middle of my 7th grade year and once I got to the school it was pretty great.Everyone was really nice but actually they were making fun of me behind my back.When it came to lunch i didn't have that many "friends" and had no one to sit by.I was pretty shy and didn't have the courage to ask if I could sit by anyone.I became very depressed and didn't eat.Finally after a while of not going to lunch I met this girl who helped me go to the counselor and talk to her.The counselor made me sit with these groups of girls and I knew they didn't care to know anything about me. So I still didn't go to lunch until that girl invited to let me sit with her.I met some new people that are my friends and even that girl is my friend still .I learned that if you haven't known the people at Deer Creek your whole life then they will ignore you and make fun of you.i would not recommend it.

Most of the students are horrible, pseudo mature, and bratty. The school holds way too much fundraisers, and will try to squeeze the money out of you. It is a horrible school, and the biggest mistake I have ever made was sending my children here. IT IS A HORRIBLE SCHOOL, do not go here!

We transferred to Deer Creek after years in private schools. This school out shines any of the private schools they attended - parents, teachers, administration and counselors have been outstanding and helpful.

Deer Creek Middle School not only has a world class facility, the teachers and administrators are extremely talented. We've been blown away by their engagement in creating a great learning environment and focus on the student experience. The district is growing very quickly and they've continued to make adjustments to address the pains involved in growth district.

I'm unimpressed. DC schools are politically motivated. ..money motivated. It's easy to brag about test scores for upper middle class white kids from 2 parent homes with college educated parents. There are cliques here that are super hurtful and you can't fit in unless you make tons of money n

Every once in a while you come across a teacher who is just...awesome. They care about your success, and help you achieve it. I have found several teachers like this here at DC. They make up for some lousiness at the school...
