My daughter's year was terrible. She did the same boring apps daily with little to no student or teacher interaction. She was taught one lesson this entire school year. We even switched teachers because the first one taught nothing, my daughter never even 'met' her. The new teacher just directed kids to IXL. This is the type of experience that makes kids dislike learning and school in general. I would not recommend epic.

A fantastic experience. Our child is light years ahead of where he’d be at our local elementary school! Great teachers, and students are learning at their own pace. I can’t say enough about Epic. We are so thankful for it.

Great school. Best and smartest thing I did for my son was to take him out of Sulphur Intermediate School, where he was constantly bullied and nothing was ever done about it, and enroll him in Epic Charter School. His teacher is great and he is learning a lot and thriving. We love it!

We love Epic! My son came out of a traditional school hating school due to bullying and a teacher that should not be teaching 1st graders. This is our second year with Epic, and we are very pleased!

I homeschool and Epic Charter School is perfect for assisting me with the tools to teach my child. I am able to target teach on specific subjects. The Benchmark testing that is done during the year help me to see the areas that need improvement and where my child is excelling. In Oklahoma our education fund has been cut hindering the recruitment of teachers which has resulted in large class sizes. Epic allows me to teach my child and I also incorporate the YMCA so that my child is able to engage socially with other children.

Posted: March 15, 2017

You do not have to deal with bullying at epic in the one on one program.

Posted: March 15, 2017

Before the child starts, they access the students learning styles, attention span, and where they are academically to prepare a specialized plan to fit the student. Love it.

Posted: March 15, 2017

The school has excellent leadership skills, from customer service, online help, and the wonderful teachers.

Posted: March 15, 2017

The school is compassionate and is an excellent role model for the children. They respect the students and parents, and have high standards of integrity.

Posted: March 15, 2017

The teacher is very effective in learning the student, their strengths, weaknesses, and the best way to approach their learning style.

Posted: March 15, 2017

Homework assignments are assigned at the students current level. They are explained thoroughly, and if you need help you can call the teacher any time.

Posted: March 15, 2017

I just enrolled my child in this school. The teacher is fabulous and really wants the best education for my child. I get to help make decisions with her curriculum, how she is taught, and be completely involved. The teacher is excellent with communication and explaining things. So far I am very impressed.

Overall this school has been wonderful for my children. The staff have been very compassionate and caring working with my children. Unlike their former schools they attended, for the most part, I have witnessed my children make academic gains and have watched them grow in their self-confidence.

This is our first year with Epic and it has been good and yet challenging.

We have two students in the 8th grade and 6th grade respectively. After getting our bearings, they are soaring in school. Their grades have gotten them nominated into the National Junior Honor Society. They are learning to push themselves and discipline their time.

The teacher is quick to respond to our needs and questions!

The only concern we have is our 6th grader does not have a learning style that does well sitting in front of a computer. We are just coming to this realization and are looking at what we can do about this.

Epic has been a positive experience and we look forward to high school here.

Epic has been a huge blessing for our family. My children age 10 and 7 are excelling in school. Our teacher, Kristi Rich is experienced and genuinely wants to help families and students succeed with schooling at home.

I would love to rate the school as "great" and only limited budgeting and some amount of confusing technology keeps me from doing so. The teachers are excellent and caring, and very communicative. However, this is an online school and their online tools are often very confusing--and we are not new to the school, we've been with it since it opened. The budget is limited, and therefore we cannot do extracurricular activities, which I feel is important for homeschooled kids. That said, it is a WONDERFUL way to homeschool. It offers a full curriculum to support a parent and one can also order workbooks as well. Since you are at home, you are in a safe environment and your kids can learn at their own speed. Epic offers a number of curricula so that you may choose what is best for your child, and you do receive aid from real teachers. They are always available by phone, text, email, OR in person! Which makes for a wonderful relationship.

Our teacher (Kristi Rich) has been excellent. She is experienced with teaching her own children at home and is ready to understand each family's individual situations. She manages to stay on top of the children's learning and stays in close contact with the parents. We are very satisfied.

Posted: November 9, 2015

The more parental involvement, the better the result. With online schooling, the parent can instill these values exclusively in their younger, developmental years.

Epic Online Charter School gives me the opportunity to spend more time with my kids and to be involved in the learning process. We can partner with the teacher to give each child a customized learning experience. The learning fund is such a financial relief, providing supplies and extracurricular opportunities that we couldn't otherwise afford.

Posted: October 28, 2015

Our teacher answers our questions in a timely manner, and gives us guidance on deadlines and strategies.

Posted: October 28, 2015

We are able to complete our work in a reasonable time each day. We also have enough time to spend on concepts that are tricky, if we need to slow down and look for other resources to reinforce the ideas.

Posted: October 28, 2015

Since the kids do a great deal of work independently, they are learning to think and find answers on their own.

Posted: October 28, 2015

We have found Epic to be perfect to meet the needs of our family. We like the flexibility of the curriculum and still have the structure and accountability of a school. When we need to travel, we don't have to worry about missing class and skipping an important concept. We can move at a pace that is best for our kids. When they are having trouble with a concept, we can spend some extra time looking for resources to help reinforce it. If they "get" a concept quickly, they can do the review questions and rapidly move on. I like being involved in what they are learning because it allows me to look for teaching opportunities and lesson application in everyday life. When my kids were in public school, I never really knew what they were learning (because all kids say "nothing" at the end of the day :-). Now, since I know what they are studying, I might see a documentary on Netflix that applies to what they are learning and we can all watch as a family. My 8th grader is learning about personal finance and when we get credit card offers in the mail, we can discussed the real world application of those lessons.
Since neither my husband nor I are "trained teachers", we weren't sure how this year would go. Having a teacher back us up has given us confidence and the guidance we need to effectively teach our kids.
We both feel that we are the best suited to teach our kids...we known them our whole lives...but we needed a basic structure and someone to back us up. That is where Epic has met our need. If a family is considering a homeschool environment, but isn't sure if they can go it alone, we recommend Epic.

Epic is a fantastic school! If you have a child with an unusual schedule this is the school for you. Not only does it offer great curriculums for kids, they get to go at their own pace. Everything is personalized to how they learn. The teachers are amazing and kind and only want the best for their students. Don't pass this school up!

We love Epic!!! Our teacher, Kristi Rich is amazing. She has helped me guide my student through some difficult areas. We are able to get our work done and focus on other areas he is interested in. It is a wonderful mix of homeschool and public school. He is challenged to do better without peer pressure or bullying. We have been a part of Epic for 2 years. We will continue with it through the rest of school years.

The school develops honesty and integrity in the fact that the schoolwork is done on their own basis in a way. The student understands that if they do not get a certain amount done they will be behind. They know the standard and set their pace.

I have 3 High School students with Epic. 2 have graduated with FULL RIDE Scholarships (West Point & The Kings College) and one is a Senior in High School this year. She has already been accepted to every school she has applied to and has been offered partial scholarship to each. Epic has prepared my children for college and career. They adjusted curriculum to allow for advanced studies and slowed down when necessary when they struggled. I truly believe that Epic was responsible for my kids academic success. In this model, they learned time management strategies, academic discipline, and they learned how to actually think. They learned to use resources to figure things out instead of everything being spoon fed to them in brick and mortar schools. These are life skills that will ensure their success in both college and career.

I do not like how they rush our kids to finish there work so they can be out when the public schools is out when they say you can go at your own speed and I wish they could have a website for the other kids to meet each other I feel like some teachers lack keeping the students updated and are slow when it comes to telling them what to do ahead of time but I do like gradpoint for my child I just wish they didn't rush the students to get done with school fast when they didn't start when the public schools did !

Posted: July 10, 2015

The teacher is so slow at telling the students ahead of time and one time she fell asleep while teaching !

Posted: July 10, 2015

I think it has a lot they could give less if they want the students to finish when public school does!

Posted: July 10, 2015

Because they tell you that you can go at your speed and they rush you to finish school in time.

Every child learns differently. Epic understands that and gives every child their own individualized learning plan. They allow your child to excel in areas of strength while working on areas of difficulty. There is no clocking in or out. They give each student an $800 learning fund in which you purchase their curriculum, rental of laptops, Internet, educational items or even extra curricular activities. Four years ago I was very skeptical so I just enrolled one of my kids. I was pleasantly shocked. They not only were all those things they said, but they were so much more. I now have six kids enrolled. I believe strongly that parents should have options for their kids education. What works for one, may not work for another. If you want to know more about Epic from a parental view, please feel free to ask me questions on my FB page "School Options in Oklahoma".

As a parent to two young students the B&M school in our area left us wanting more out of the education system our children belong to. Epic allows us choice. Epic encourages our students to grow and be challenged on an individual level. There is no other school in our area available that will asses and individualize to the needs of each student. We are 100% satisfied

The Epic One on One program is amazing! At first I wasn't so sure about the whole idea of online schooling, but I decided to give it a try. I did not regret it. Epic provides a number of things that public schools do not. There are a variety of world languages that public schools in my area do not offer. This includes Spanish, French, German, Chinese and even Arabic. Your child can even choose from a more abundant list of electives so the child can also focus on his/her hobbies. Keep in mind that this is all COMPLETELY FREE! Epic gives each student an $800 learning fund each year to spend on supplies, sports, extra electives, etc. My children have excelled in their academics since enrolling in this school, and even better: they love it! Over all, in our 2 years at Epic, we have had a great experience.

Epic Charter School is really a great school. I started going to this school last year as a tenth grader and I love it so far. I've even learned to play guitar using the $800 fund so my parents didn't have to pay a dime. I've had a good time at Epic and I've made plenty of good friends with other students through social meetings and other stuff.

Posted: January 17, 2015

I like this school a lot more than other schools! It's been pretty awesome, even in the core subjects. I find it much more comforting doing my schoolwork in my own home, and I can focus more on my work. My friends go to Epic Schools too and we all love it!
