The principal is nice, but ignorant of laws related to students with disabilities. It was a struggle to get supports in place, because the teacher dragged their feet submitting the paperwork for an IEP for my child with behavioral and learning disabilities, despite the request being made in writing on the first day of school, and they were chronically suspended or taken out of class for trivial offenses the entire year.
Admittedly, my child had substantial conduct problems, but the teacher would not follow the 504 plan that took 6 months to get in place, and the principal backed the teacher every time. I felt bullied and shamed the entire school for my child's behavior, even though the kid was generally well behaved and did their work when the plan was being followed.
This was our first any only year at this school, my child has had these problems since pre-K, and we have never had this much difficulty getting supports in place and having their behavior plan followed.

My kids went here and not only are they dedicated to traditional academics but are also encouraging, care about the safety and emotional well being of the students, warm, inclusive and you can tell the staff and administration really care. Unlike many public schools mid-del especially Del City fosters the arts, music, health and sports. Something we had a huge lack of in NW OKC before starting them here in the 2nd grade. They even have a kids garden and garden club. The neighborhood is awesome. With the grade school, Jr. High and high-school in the same neighborhood. The home coming parade comes in front of the school and performs
For the kids, throws out treats. After school programs were great. They remodeled the school and its state of the art even with has tornado shelter.

My kids attend this school since pre-k and I love the teachers and the whole staff. Good education and best of all their safety. They do keep a high interest on their students and the staff.
Great job!

My son has been going here since pre-k and this year they have added alot of kids from Sooner Rose Elementary. It's very over crowded now, it seems like it's not even Del City Elementary anymore. I want to move my child out of this school now.
