Their response to the pandemic was pitiful at best and my children's learning has suffered the consequences. Homework is always on the computer which causes more technical difficulties than actual cultivation of what is learned in school. The lack of communication from administration to teachers and parents alike is entirely inadequate. There have been NO activities, no sports, no clubs. As a charter school, kids can be from anywhere in the city, how are they to develop friendships if they never see their friends? There is no outdoor space for kids to run around, gather in the morning before school, or have recess. My kids get to go outside 1 recess per week... it's unacceptable. There were several incidents, namely a threat of child bringing gun to school confirmed by Phila police as a real threat, that were NEVER relayed to parents. Parents were left to find out via snapchat and their own children. All they care about is the PSSAs. There is no aftercare available, school hours are ridiculous 8am-2pm or 1pm on Fridays. They give them off for no reason at all. They were entirely virtual with 2 30 minute classes each day for 18 months and an additional 6 weeks just this past December/January. I honestly don't know how they get away with it and keep their charter. I can't wait to move and get my kids out of this school.

Both my children go to Franklin Towne, and both struggled in school for awhile. But thanks to the hard working and dedicated staff members, my children are not only enjoying school, but have completely turned around their grades. I've seen the difference in public school, compared to Franklin Towne. My son has moderate to severe hearing loss, and wears bilateral hearing aides. He went to Elywin, a special pre school for his hearing loss and delayed speech for 2 years before Kindergarten. Then went to a public school for Kindergarten. The public school was overcrowded, understaffed, and was not a good learning environment for my son. Once he got into Franklin Towne for 1st grade is when I noticed a huge change in him. The teachers and special hearing support educators, and audiologist have been wonderful and made such a difference in Masons education. He almost made honor roll this semester, missed it by 2pts in 1 class. I am extremely grateful for all the extra support he gets, and the extra support and tutoring my daughter gets as well every year. Franklin Towne is a wonderful school!

Of all the teachers that my girls have encountered at Franklintown they have all been wonderful my oldest is in seventh grade and she still goes back to visit all of her past teachers. I think they are very effective and influential my daughter has never really liked science in the past but this year she absolutely does and I think a part of it is her teacher.

Homework is supposed to reinforce what they learned in that day and I think they get just enough homework to reinforce whatever they learned in that day for that class.

I think the merit system that they had set up really helps kids with kindness, how to be fair to one another.

They have everything in a school that I want-great teachers, principles who really care and support staff that is bar none.

The best school in Philadelphia. I am very thankful every day that my Daughter attends there! I probably would have moved out of the city had she not got excepted.

FTCE is the best school in the city. My children became part of the Towne family three years ago, and I can tell you that they love it! The teachers, administrators and support staff do a wonderful job and it is obvious that they love the children. As a parent I could not be happier and can say without hesitation that making the move to Towne was the best decision that we have ever made for our children!

I have a 2nd grader at FTCES and I must say we absolutely love this school! If you have a child that loves to learn, then this is the school for them! The staff & teachers are just amazing. The Principle Mr. Feild, is very involved with the staff, the students & the parents. He goes above and beyond to make sure that everyone is happy & that things are moving smoothly. When ever an issue coms up it is dealt with quickly & with grace. The Teachers are very frank and straight forward with the parents and use alot of positive reinforcment with the students, and Amy from the front desk is just a doll! My husband and I actually got to help build the playground which was a great experience tha just really got the parents & the teachers mingling. The whole school is close-knit and just operates more like family. My son has made great strides since starting at FTCE, it's the best thing for him to date!

FTES is by far one of the BEST schools in the City of Philadelphia! As the remainder of the school district is failing miserably, Franklin Towne is prospering. They are constantly adding new clubs, summer camps, after school programs, just built a brand new playground, started a music and art program and just completed the addition of a Brand New auditorium. While the rest of the schools are taking away, FTES is adding. They conduct parent surveys and really pull through on the suggestions. I have 2 children in 1st and 3rd grade and they absolutely love the school. The teachers are nurturing and involved with the parents, the administration is the most helpful and kind group of people I've ever met, the H & S is constantly putting together fun things for the kids and Patrick Field, the Principal honestly CARES about the children and their overall experience...both academically and by assuring the students truly enjoy their overall school experience. He gets the kids motivated by instilling a merit system to promote good behavior and making it fun by dressing up for the kids:) I love, love, love this school and everyone there. Have no idea how there could ever be a bad review.

My daughter LOVES this school. The school is still pretty new and is still adding programs each year. This is the first year they had music and it was a wonderful addition. I hope they add an art program.
