It is very hard to have an active social life in this school, especially if you go to NMTCC. The school is so large, I can and have gone days without even seeing my friends. I have become very depressed because of my social isolation, and how uninteresting the classes are. My physical health is suffering due to anxiety and depression, and I'm worried that I may have to look into alternative schooling options if my mental health plummets too far.

If your child has an IEP expect to be in meetings or have the IEP ignored. We had 1 teacher who would not follow the IEP. The district office and school staff were too busy trying to protect the teacher to be concerned about my child. To this day they hide behind the "legal minimum". The district sent incompetent staff who refused to listen and just defended the teacher blindly. They lied and misinformed to protect the teacher instead of holding her accountable. The school staff was almost as bad as the district staff. My child had begged to go back to northbridge due to this 1 teacher yet nothing was done to correct her. This is supposedly a nhs teacher who couldnt follow the IEP. School board has been absent even with a letter writing campaign. Please keep your child safe and keep holding teachers and staff accountable. Do not let the district ignore your IEP

North Penn does it right. For a school of that size it is incredible the job they do turning kids into pre-adults ready for college or trades.

This school has many positive attributes including a very robust selection of courses, a variety of leveled classes to meet student needs, great teachers, staff and admin that are interested and engaged in the students. Numerous STEAM clubs and extracurricular groups as well as huge variety of sports. It is also very inclusive of the diversity in its student body.

Where NP is lacking however is in Special Education, fulfillment and creation of realistic and supportive IEPs. If your kid has learning differences, it is important to educate yourself on PA law around IDEA and FAPE as well as the IEP process. It is also very lacking in an effective management of bullying and implementing top-down positive social emotional programming programming. I cannot completely fault the district on this however as many of the parents are also bullies and teach it to their kids. What I would like to see implemented is a stronger anti-bullying policy with consequences that impact not just the students but inconvenience the parents just enough for them to motivate their child to stop with bullying.

Overall a great school which prepares students for whatever path they choose after college with 2 significant caveats that the school district really needs to prioritize.

Hands down the best public school anywhere for music education. My child went to Inglewood Elementary, Penndale Middle School, and of course, North Penn Highschool. The teachers at all of these schools encouraged my son's love for music, and now we are looking at possible music scholarships for college. If it were not for Ms. Jordan Fletcher, Mr. Robert Kennedy, and Mr. David DiValentino I'm not sure my son would ever have picked up a musical instrument let alone pursue a career in music. I could not be happier with encouragement and education that my son has received at this school district.

It is a really good school. Absolutely outstanding academics. A wide variety of elective classes and programs . They even have lot of clubs and sports than you know what to do with. . I moved to the district because of this school and so far I haven't been disappointed.

Overall a really good school. Absolutely outstanding academics. A wide variety of elective classes. They even have JROTC! More clubs and sports than you know what to do with. The only problems are that the school is too big. It's easy to get lost in the crowd. If a student has a problem (academic, medical that affects their academics) they have to advocate for themselves, parents need to keep on the counselors and teachers. I moved to the district because of this school and so far I haven't been dissapointed.

I think the overall academics at the school is great. However, my son was denied lunch because he didn't have $0.40 in his lunch account to pay for lunch. The lunch lady put the lunch away, told him he has $0.11 in his lunch account . It broke my heart to know he did not have lunch. I could have given him money if I knew the account was low. What kind of person would send a child back to class on an empty stomach, because they didn't have $0.40 to pay for lunch. I called the nutritional office, and they were of no help. I called the superintendent's office, she told me the cafeteria manager would get back to me. No one got back to me. I had to go pick my son up at school. He didn't have lunch and was not feeling he could continue the day on empty stomach. I hope the person in the cafeteria is reading this, and know that you are a heartless human being. The school does not exist to make a profit , it's for educational purposes.

Horrible school district for kids with special needs.....
Has caused my family great stress...
I liked it before when north penn did not have a class available for my child with such extensive needs because of her level of disability..... they were forced to send my child to surroundings school districts which h were much better
My child's teacher makes every possible way to try and make me feel like I'm a bad parent....
When I have been told by multiple doctors if it was not for me she would not be alive....
I'm disgusted especially for the fact if you ever try to make a complaint it's like they don't care....
My child's teacher believes it's ok to tape confidential and embarrassing health information about my child to her wheel chair where everyone can see it....

HUGE MISTAKE MOVING HERE!!! Have a child with SPECIAL NEEDS and the district has been EXTREMELY UNSUPPORTIVE and causing us an alot of unnecessary STRESS!! THE WORST DISTRICT we've ever dealt with!! We questioned the bad reviews and didn't think it would be so bad but IT'S MUCH WORSE!! Apparently this district only "LIKES" kids who are wealthy, athleticy gifted, or academicly above their peers. They have treated us so POORLY!! I have NOTHING good to say, I'm so very disappointed for my family and my child.

I am a student at North Penn and I love it here.There is a variety of many different things to do.No student is limited but they are pushed to reach for the stars.Their sports teams are really fun.This school is big but it makes it a great opportunity to make new friends.I recommend that more students should go here.The teachers are GREAT!!!I love them!!

Many of the kids (especially sophomores) need to learn how to grow up. Half of the kids are talking about drama affecting their lives and are causing the classes to become uninteresting. My son goes to Judge now and while he went to NP, he HATED it. He said that although NP is a public school (which means that everyone gets accepted), some people don't deserve to go there. He said that Judge is so much better than North Penn, and that he recommends NO ONE to go there,at least go to HH to CB. Overall, horrific, and they should split the high school into at least two schools. WAY TO BIG!

Great school!!! North Penn High School offers something for everyone. Hundreds of clubs, activities, sports a music programs. Academics are unbelievable. Course curriculum looks like a small college. Unlike private school, NPHS does not discriminate and they accept all students, regardless of their academic ability. They truly are dedicated to educating all students from varied backgrounds. Great school!!!
