Pennridge South Middle School

My child is not having a great experience at South. The staff does little when harassment is reported, and my child was singled out and harassed repeatedly by staff and admin over refusal of math support services in lieu of a private tutor. At this writing, they are focused more on how well the students "perform" -(I am quoting one teacher's words) and not enough on how well they learn. We find the atmosphere to be a very stressful, chaotic one-and the students are belligerent and defensive. We have found that the creative arts departments are decent-for all the cuts in funding-but my child is looking forward to HS-hoping we will have a better overall atmosphere and learning experience.

This school is absolutely everything you need and well beyond! Coming from a student's perspective sometimes is questionable, but please trust me! This school has one of the best athletic, music, and drama departments in Pennsylvania. I am going into the 8th grade this year and for once, I am so excited! All of the teachers that I have had so far are very willing to push you to your absolute highest to where you can succeed. It is the smallest and oldest school out of all 3 Pennridge Middle Schools, and the all compete to be the best, but the obvious winner is Pennridge South Middle School. you will never EVER find any form of harassment or bullying because we have a program called SAP which is well beyond the simple guidance counselor. Also, this school has two very strong and inspirational principals that hold the entire school together.This school also inspired me to love science and to be a doctor. I recommend this school to any looking for a great academic, motivational, trust-worthy, clean, helpful, musical, environment for their child. I would most definately rate South Middle School 10 stars if I could! Thank you South Middle School for everything you have taught me! WOO!

My daughter is a student at South and it has been a great experience so far. This is the smallest & oldest middle school, but the class sizes are great, the school is cool looking inside- they've kept a lot of the 80 year old details and, being an old house person, I love it- and my daughter is happy there, loves her fellow students and her teachers. Being a smaller school does have advantages! I have been so impressed with her teachers' willingness to go above and beyond the call of duty when it comes to their students. We're very happy to send our kids there.

I had four children go through South Middle School with the last one in 8th grade now. It is a great school with great programs and also great school spirit.
