Disappointed in this school. When I first started my schooling career here at SF, I loved it. But that was when teachers taught core lessons and values, now they just pass anybody who walks in and the curriculum is meant to dumb down kids so they can not even read a book nor comprehend its meaning. Why is that the case? Because the teachers give the answers to every single question to the students, and they read to them like we are kindergartners. I hated this and it is what caused me to give up trying to learn. Which looking back was also dumb as I should have just "sucked it up" and put down the teachers answers on the packets and acted like I was paying attention to them reading or just sleep like the rest of the students.

The school is also rampant with drugs and the school police there do nothing about it. Instead they yell into the bathrooms "put away your drugs I am coming in" just so they don't have to deal with the paperwork.

The school board spends money and approves things that the school district does not need, and raises taxes to the max they can every single year and then complains there is no money due to them spending it all. They are also rude, snobby individuals who tell parents that they don't matter and that their kids are also there own...not factual at all. Especially this current sitting school board for the year 2025. They are a concoction of lies and deceit.

If you want your child to become something in life, have drive, have motivation, have discipline, and be taught core lessons on math, science, English, and history...go elsewhere. If you want your family line to be something - spend that money you would have spent on yourself on your kids education so they won't have to suffer like everybody else's children do. This school is not a good place, is not a safe place, encourages drug use...which one of the school board members encourages drug use...and will not yield any benefit to your child.

I know I have not yielded any benefit, and any learning I have had in the past 4 years within high school has come from my own volition, my own curiosities, my own interests and hardships. I truly wish I had an opportunity greater than this, don't let your kid be in my shoes. Please do not put them in this school district.

High Schooler starting year 2021 ending year 2025.

My son struggled with school and SF helped him to be a successful student. My other children are in the lower grades. One is special needs. All of them are getting the best education and support needed to be not only good students, but good humans. Can't ask for anything else today! I also love how the school encourages research and doesn't push agendas. They still allow students to have opinions. The opportunities my kids will have upon graduation are and will be endless!

This school has too much issues with drug abuse, as well as one school board member advocating for it in a post on facebook. Personally, I can not wait to get out of this school as I have received the worst education possible and it keep declining in value as each day passes. Not to mention their disciplinary system is incredibly flawed. They do not punish kids the way they should. In my opinion, if you have an option, do not send your kid to this school. It is better off if you homeschooled them because then they would actually be getting somewhere. At the end of the day, the choice is yours, if you want a dumb kid who blindly follows orders then send them here, if not and you want a kid who is intelligent and thinks for themselves then you should send them elsewhere at all costs.

My daughter graduated from this school in 2012, very well prepared and positioned for college. The gifted program in this district is great - differentiated course offerings continue through high school (philosophy!!). There are also a lot of AP courses, and with their effective instruction, she scored a 4 or 5 on all AP exams (so the school helped her trim almost a full year off her bachelor's degree and saved us a lot of money).

My son graduated from Spring-ford last year. We moved here the end of kindergarten for him and he loved school. He decided in eighth grade he thought he wanted something more challenging so he applied to a few private highschools in our area and he decided on The Hill school. Freshman year he began his year at The Hill school and found he lived the challenge of the classes but missed his friendships at Spring-ford. He cane back to Spring-ford to finish out freshman year. With the help of his counselor he was placed in the appropriate honors classes and continued to grow through out his high school career. I do believe high school is what you want to make out of it. I also believe as a parent you still need to be very involved and be your teens advocate at all times.

I graduated from Spring-Ford last year, and although it is crowded, the new addition really does space things out. There are enough seats for everyone at lunch, and if there wasn't changes would certainly be made to accommodate them. The guidance department made it seem like college was more challenging to get into than it actually was for me, which was just a motivation to work harder. The majority of teachers are more than willing to do whatever it takes to help their students succeed and even the older teachers are still open to new suggestions. The honors and AP classes are though provoking and challenging. Arguable, a few of the AP classes are more challenging then some of the college classes I am currently enrolled in. The district is also very conscientious of keeping an excellent program for music & fine arts, as well as extracurricular activities, throughout budget cuts. Overall, it's a great place for kids to get an education.
