This was going to be a interim school for my middle child for two years. I saw the spiritual growth and independence in my child even at a tender age, I did not want this to end for my child. We pulled our public going child and put him in Rhema( THE BEST DECISION). We have only grown together as a family along with our faith in God. This school prepared my children to be academically and spiritually sound and strong. They truly build in each child the three core pillars that this school stands for. Check their website for more info. By 8th grade, my children knew who they are, who they are to God and in Christ, and their identity in Christ was as solid as Jesus Christ. They were able to take on the public school with ease and with deep appreciation for the academic rigors and their beloved Rhema teachers. 13 years later, we are so grateful for this school. What is clearly evident is, through the changes of staff as it would come, the Work of God continues to be poured through His Spirit, in every staff member. I Stand amazed at how He redeems His Work through each teacher in this place. If you value good standard of academic rigor and a strong Christian- In Christ foundation, this is THE School!

We have been at Rhema for 4 years and really can't say enough great things about it. They don't just call themselves a christian school because they teach bible but they really do incorporate Christ and building a relationship with Him in so many aspects of the day. My daughter is more advanced than her friends in the same grade that attend public school or even some other christian schools in the area. Their tuition is very fair. Parents can observe in the classroom, visit and have lunch with your kiddo and be so incredibly involved in so many aspects of the school! The school body - both staff and students are like a family and have really grown tremendously now that COVID restrictions have decreased. They have an amazing, talented and highly qualified principal and amazing board that is leading the school and the presence of God can be felt the moment you walk in the door. We have weathered COVID at this school (and the experience was far and above many other experiences of friends and family at other schools) as well as a lot of changes within the staff and leadership of the school but we have never felt the quality of education has lacked. Now that the leadership is so high above the bar of expectation and staff is in unity, the years ahead are going to be even more amazing!

My daughter attends Rhema and we are pleasantly surprised at how much she's learning and growing. More importatnly, the education is Christ-centered and very thourough. Rhema is serious about education and serious about nurturing their students in a Christian environment. It helps that the tuition is reasonable also.

The relationships/friendships my child made was pretty good. However, some of the parents and a majority of the teachers were very cliquish. Of course the teachers kids were able to start at any sport, play, or extra-curricular activity. Rhema seemed to cater to the kids with the most money...if that makes sense. Academically, the school seemed to be just a little bit more advanced than the public schools. But, to be a Christian school, I think they should practice what they preach.

This school does not promote Christian ways nor does it deal with bullying in any way. Whether it be from the students, teachers or even the parents. This is a "private" school with very public attitudes and views. The math teacher for the middle school is not qualified and should not be teaching these important grades. Some staff hold grudges and the students do not welcome new students with the open arms that Christ would ask of them. Enrollment is way down and has been for a couple of years.

The school truly is a Christ-centered school and that is why students stand out among others. The principal does a great job turning eyes to the Lord and doesnt want glory for what the school might be successful in.

Not only are the teachers filled with the same love that Christ would show but they truly want to train their students to whole heartedly love and serve the Lord and others.

It is challenging academically. As someone who taught in a public school for many years, I have seen many public school teachers who are lazy and do absolutely nothing the entire school year. That will not be found nor tolerated at Rhema Christian. The teachers love what they do and it is obvious. My one daughter has been offered the help that she has needed, academically, that I know she would not have received in our public school.

So thankful for the Christ-centered Rhema Christian School!

Vindictive, ruthless, petty, nonchristian, unorganized. If this sounds like a good fit for your child, then this school is good. If not, look ELSEWHERE!!

My children went to elementary school at Rhema. My daughter Amy is currently graduating Penn State and will be going to Vet School with high honors. My daughter Erika, is a second year student at Penn State main finding her way. Zeph is graduating from Hopewell High and going into WVU for Engineering. My adult children had a great start at Rhema, especially learning to read phonetically was exceptional.

Rhema is an excellent school with a highly dedicated staff and a clear Biblical teaching modeled at many levels by the students (particularly older students encouraged and enabled as mentors under supervision), staff, and administration. Reading the other comments, I know from experience that the school deals actively to prevent and to correct bullying at all levels, involving the parents directly. Rhema is one of the few Christian schools in the area to even consider special needs students, and deals with issues in a very positive and caring manner, providing flexibility where required that is remarkable in a school their size. The class sizes are small, but the opportunities offered to students are diverse (sports, arts, scholastics, service, technology) and appropriately supportive of academic excellence. The principal greets every student daily, and is very positive in working with parents. Strongly recommend that parents give this school careful consideration.

Rhema Christian School has been a blessing to my family! Rhema has provided a Christ-centered environment for my children. I really appreciate that they take the time to reinforce the teaching that is being done in our church and in our home. Children spend the best part of their day in school and we are so relieved that we are able to have them in such a loving, caring, and Christ-like place. Rhema goes that extra mile to personally take care of my children. We are so grateful for the teachers and the staff. They are great role models for my children. We are proud to tell people that we send our children to Rhema Christian School!

Rhema Christian School is one of the top notch Christian schools in the area. The teachers and staff take time to minister the Word of God to my children everyday. We are extremely happy with the academics and biblical integration that occurs with their curriculum. Rhema provides weekly chapels with student praise bands and multiple opportunities to serve in the community it is such a great opportunity to allow students to give back and shine. Rhema provides a family atmosphere and truly encourages parent participation. My children are thriving in this environment. If you are considering Christian education for your family, I would call as soon as possible!

Rhema has been a wonderful discovery for our family. Our daughter attended a different private school for her first two years and never really fit in well. Once she began at Rhema, the change in her and her attitude to school was night and day. We love the caring and nurturing teachers and their commitment to Christian education. We cannot recommend Rhema highly enough!

My children have been in Rhema for 3 years now and they are doing great academically, spirituality and socially. The teachers are dedicated, the class sizes are small and the atmosphere is very welcoming.

There is no such thing as the perfect school, but we feel that Rhema gives our children the best education for the cost. Scholarships are available. We love the Christian atmosphere, varied learning opportunities, and strong foundations in reading, writing, math, and Bible knowledge. There is a great sense of community among parents, students and teachers. Many great role models here. The only downside we've found so far is the lack of additional learning for gifted students.

Everything about Rhema is wonderful. The staff, curriculum, and Christian environment has been such a blessing to my family. When my oldest moved on to high school, she was very well-equipped to handle the classes there. I highly recommend this school!

Rhema is a great school. It has a Spirit-filled Christian environment along with educational rigor. The staff is experienced and well-trained but more importantly devoted to the Lord's work and loving and caring to the students. A wonderful school community.

Rhema Christian School is a private school run by parents of the children who attend from grades Pre-School-8th grade. Children receive a Christian education with excellent academics (to include advanced classes at the Jr. High level). Rhema graduates are not only ready for the challenging academics of High School, but they are also prepared to defend and educate others regarding their faith. Rhema is ACSI certified and staffed with highly qualified teachers that feel called not only to educate, but also to minister to the children. Athletics and music are a big part of our school. You will find the "Rhema Lions" in our soccer team, boys and girls volleyball and basketball teams, as well as our cheerleaders (and Rockettes for grades 1-4). Rhema also offers the opportunity to play in the Praise Band, a more comtemporary Christian band with drums, electric and acoustic guitar, keyboard and vocalists, as well as a traditional band comprised of woodwind and brass instruments. Children can also use their gift of drama to participate in our annual play. Rhema students have the opportunity to serve God through various projects and field trips designed to help others.

Rhema Christian School provides an education with biblical principals. My 4 children have and are being taught how to read, write, add, about Science, History, how to speak Spanish, using current technologies, make music with instruments, and their voice, create art, compete thru Battle of the Books, be leaders while mentoring others, how to pray, praise God, and how to love others the way God loves us and they have an opportunity to compete thru Soccer, Basketball, Volleyball, and Cheerleading. They are taught that God has a plan for their lives and that we are to be the best we can with what He's given us, helping others when we can. The small classes allow teachers to know the students. Parents are welcomed and encouraged to volunteer at the school or help from home. Rhema has Christmas and Spring concerts and field trips. My oldest graduated from Rhema in 2011 and is very well prepared, now in the 11th grade. Since the school year began, my 7th grader went on a Spiritual Retreat, my 3rd grader went on a Science field trip and my Kindergartner visited a pumpkin patch with her class. Nothing tops their increased faith while attending school. I can't imagine them anywhere else.

We were very disappointed with Rhema. Academically, it is on par with all of the nearby public schools, but if you are looking for a Christian environment, where your children will be nurtured and taught Biblical values, keep looking. There is a lot of ongoing bullying behavior that, although brought to the administration's attention, is not addressed. My children only attended for a short time, but they were introduced to all sorts of bad language and inappropriate behavior by other students there. Behavioral issues are not addressed, even when brought to the administration's attention by parents. The administration does not seem to have the leadership skills required to effectively lead the staff and children. Although there are mandatory volunteer hours required, the office staff seem to only want parents there when they absolutely have to be. In the short time we were there, we saw a lot of staff and student turnover, which is very indicative of the environment there. We have learned a valuable lesson from Rhema: weekly chapel and a semi-Christian curriculum does not a Christian school make.

After attending Rhema for her preschool-8th grade years, my daughter is now in the top 1% of her public high school class, and has taken every honors course that is available to her.. In my opinion, her preparation at Rhema has paced her ahead of others in her age group, and paved the way for her success in high school and life!

I found Rhema Christian School to be less than satisfactory. This school is incredibly small and does not have the technological resources to help students progress in a developing world. Initially the staff seems to be well educated, but there are so few resources that students miss out on what a public school can provide. Also, with an aging staff, I found that students aren't receiving new, exciting, and thought provoking instruction. I understand that Christian values are what some families look for in their child's education, but I cannot justify sacrificing academic opportunities to receive instruction from this school. I know that the intentions from the staff are good at heart, but the professionalism and academic "know-how" are lacking. With the education area surrounding Rhema, I would strongly consider sending your child elsewhere and providing a strong Christian education at home and through your own church.
